Guys! Guys! IGN is bringing up the ME2 romances. Someone with Twitter, tell them about Thane!
I couldn't find it. Where did they say this.
Toward the end, they were talking about how one guy romanced Garrus, and then went for Traynor, and was waiting for Garrus to confront him about it and nothing ever happened. Then the other guy who went for Jack and Miranda and how he got hardly any screen time
And how they should each have been a squadmate for a full mission at least, et al.

All good points above and too lazy to quote them..and a bit peeved that my dog ate my cheetos. I do hate the "we always knew it would come to an end" line. At first I was like, "since when? and I really hope this isn't some backwards way of dumping my Shep or I'll yank you out of that chair and backhand you." First time the thought of smacking him ever crossed my mind, at least in a negative sense.
bwhwahwhaha! utaker, you have got to be the funniest person on this thread!
Seeing him sitting in that chair looking so down and sad was NOT romanced Thane. Maybe could be an unloyal Thane but not the one my Shep fell in love with. Pitiful.
^agree, good assessment.
The making out in front of the window...oh man. First of all, the line leading up to it made Shep sound like a horny teenager interested in one thing only. Or he was a meal, either way, it was painful to hear. Next, the actual making out..really? That was not my Shep and that was not Thane. Don't know who they were but the kissing, the noises, the groping right there in front of everyone. WTF... I don't know if I should laugh, cry or both. Totally OOC for both of them. Not to mention if one can get past the "want to spend a little time alone together" delivery, I assumed alone together to mean leaving the patient lounge...not that animalistic display in public. And what was that noise Shep made at the end? My first thought, after the initial stunned silence, was "Shep I think you better check for a puddle under your feet." My husband heard that and he said, "what was that? Did she just have... oh nevermind, I don't want to know." Yeah, neither do I.
Yeah they need to fix this, it's just painful to watch.
ah, but i'm starting to think i'm the only one who didn't mind the passionate kissing (adolescent groping?) in public. i think they SHOULD have gone somewhere alone, but i think thane is a passionate drell under all that reserve, and they haven't seen each other in months... i don't think that would have been typical behavior for thane and shep, but given the circumstances, i can certainly imagine it. maybe i should just get my mind out of the gutter!
shepard's request, however, just makes me cringe. that did seem adolescent in the worst way, very tee-hee, wink wink. she seemed more like a 13 yo boy than a grown, sexually empowered, confident woman!
so that's three major wtf moments for me - 1) "she got hurt trying to protect me" wha....
2) "we always knew this would end" excuse me...?
3) "do you want to spend a little time alone together?!?!?!?!" shep should be wearing a total troll-face there. i loled and looked away for that.
the "making up for lost time" kiss seemed a little fake and silly. my shep would have embraced him immediately, not acted all untouchable and coy about it. that second kiss, though, i could buy that.

typed a long, incredibly intelligent and articulate post, profound and thought-provoking, and lost it when the forum went down. if only you all knew what you were missing!
so the short version is -
a) me1 fans would be livid if the only interaction they got was being told off by their li on horizon and then watching them die on the base. ha

LMAO!!!! While that thought would disgust me, I would not hesitate for a moment to get a Thane blow up doll. Get yer minds out of the gutter, ladies...there are some lines even I won't cross. I would take him with me, put him in my car, let him ride shotgun even my husband would have to ride in the back. Take him to Wal-Mart, he'd be in the family photos, give him his own spot at the dinner table, and the testament that he was loved...I'd let him share my favorite blanket. Even my husband doesn't get to use my favorite blanket. And I really am 38 years old... go figure.

I lovers that plushie, I would put it in my bed and cuddle it like I do my Undertaker one. I swear I stopped growing up mentally at 12.
@yami... Unfortunately if that was there logic with Kaidan it backfired on my end. What it did was make me despise Kaidan more (if that was even possible) and drive my desire to fight for Thane all the more. And I do believe he was an after thought when it came to the romance. They probably wrote the whole Kai Leng thing and then went, "Oh wait, didn't some FemShep's romance him?" Ok, let's throw in 2 kisses, a few Siha's, a few different words during his death scene, and send out that lotsb letter. There, romance issue solved. Too bad for them, I find it crap. It needs to be fixed. Where is our desert?

@mnomaha...maybe I'll start thinking along the same lines. I mentioned Thane blow up doll to my husband and told him what I'd do with it, he groaned and said, "well, he'd also make a good pool floatie, imagine where the handle would be" Oi, Oi, Oi..... he actually encourages this kind of behavior out of me.

@mayrabgood Haha I don't hate you, I'm just angry about what happened to Thane. And I agree with that, I think if Thane had been in ME1 he would have had as big a fanbase as Garrus or Kaidan. It's really upsetting. We all want more time with him, but are we going to get it?
If we do, I will stay loyal to Bioware for the rest of my life.
Definitely this!!
And I understand why people like Kaidan - I have a loyal PT as well just to see how it plays out in ME3. Whether I ever actually play it remains to be seen. I just can't bring myself to put ME3 back in
More Thane!

@Cosmo...I don't have a loyal PT, silly me, I couldn't keep all my Sheps out of Life Support. Oh well, I'll hold out hope for a romance fix. If not, my achievements will look like my Shepard...no romance one, it will be the glaring hole in my ME3 achievements. A constant reminder that my Shep was screwed over and a testament to my will of not bending.

@mnomaha...yes, those changes are more accurate. Thanks. Seriously, when my Shep decides to grope Thane it won't be in public. I would have loved to see Kaidan in better physical condition at that point and walk into the lounge at that moment. Hee hee... Oh hello, Kaidan, I'd like you to meet "some assassin." Oh yeah, you've already met, silly me. Well I need to get back to warring, have fun boys! Childish yes but my Alex Shepard would so do that.

Well I started it as my last PT on ME2 because I was expecting replayability in ME3 - how ridiculous of me! I figured if the Kaidan/Thane thing was great dialogue etc., I still had time to head on into Life Support. We all know how it turned out.

a) Exactly, they would have been furious. And I would have laughed at them.Bahaha yeah, not only is Kaidan unattractive (in my opinion) but he's basically as exciting and interesting as an elcor. Thane has real depth to his personality; when you talk to him, you know that there's so much about him below the surface that you might never understand. And I don't know about you guys, but I love the idea of taking someone as stoic and reserved as Thane and seeing that transformation into someone who openly expresses their love for you and who you know you could trust with your life. I'm usually not a romantic, but that is just too romantic to pass up.
*Citadel 'date' with Kaidan*
Kaidan: ...at my parents' house in Vancouver, I remem..
Shep: *snores*
Kaidan: um.. Shepard, are you.. asleep? Wow, you must be really tired.
Shep: *pretending to be asleep, wakes up* Actually, you just bore the crap out of me. I'm only here to tell you to get the frak off my back about getting back together. You do realise my boyfriend just died right? Is an 'I'm sorry for your loss' too much for you?
I play as paragon, but after having absolutely no option to mention to kaidan that Shep was in love with Thane, I just got so frustrated i wanted to punch Kaiden's face in after that haha

Too funny! I play paragon as well, but there were a LOT of places I had been hoping for a "renegade interrupt" so I could yell/punch/kick/shoot someone. One such instance is Garrus standing at the memorial wall and ASKING ABOUT ASHLEY!!!
And the no dialogue choices when I visited people on the ship really ticked me off. So boring. Plus my Shep was saying things she would never say.

I've never wanted to be renegade so much in ME, either. I could never do it in ME1 or ME2 because there were squadmembers I could just never be mean to...but I might go back and do ME3 renegade just so I can shoot Kaidan.

I found myself wanting to be a complete **** to everyone on the ship. I wanted to kick EDI's virtual ass out of the sexbots body. I wanted to punch Joker in the ribs for being such a creeper this game. I wanted to lock Liara inside her room and throw away the key. I didn't have Kaiden this game, so I pretty much just ignored Ashley and was never bothered by her. And when Garrus was talking about the VS at the memorial wall I wanted to beat him over the head with his stupid sniper rifle and yell I TOOK YOU AND THANE EVERYWHERE IN ME2 HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER
FFFF this game makes me angry. As if that weren't obvious already.

To the point: As many have said, the Thane in me3 would need a complete overhaul to satify me. Since I really don't see them doing this (bah.....never say never I suppose), I will focus on MY version of Shepards storyline, and how I see Thane and her going from ME2. me3 will most likely NOT grace my console again.
Gonna take the dog out.....he needs to take an me3.....woops, my bad.
PDS will be back this evening......she has a new outfit she wants to share, and a shiny new book! Weeeeeeeee!!

So after much deep darkened depression, I read through two linked fanfics (athankyou ladies!), and started playing ME2 again. My Shepard and her path were not represented in this game (me3) at all.....My Shep became a morose, cold, hormone induced (ya know, the lovely make-out scene ala General Huerta...umm Hospital), and saying things in auto-dialogue that I would NEVER have chosen for her to say, in like ya know......an RPG!!! ***t! Bad run-on sentence. Sorry; babbling.
