I didn't think it was him. It was very nice of the person that did do it.

I agree. Why couldn't bioware let Thane read it in the game.

Yes of course. It's not Keythe but until we can pry something like this from him it will have to do. To help our broken hearts :(

Not that tweets mean anything anymore (remember, "All romance arcs will have a satisfying conclusion?") but trolling twitter with incessant, repetitive questions yielded this:

Vi ‏ @Asenza
@masseffect Pre-ME3 DLC Idea: Shepard sending ME2 Squad off for groceries on Omega so they can turn themselves into the Alliance, alone.

Mass Effect ‏ @masseffect
@asenza We discussed this a while ago as a possible scenario.

Vi ‏ @Asenza
@masseffect Didn't know it was the same person. Do you guys rotate out, how do you assign Twitter duty? There's a robot sometimes.

Mass Effect ‏ @masseffect
@asenza We are all robots! Muahahahaha!

Vi ‏ @Asenza
@masseffect Please pass this on to elder robots then, mechanism: ME3 DLC: ME2 Romances. Fix (cure) Thane and Jacob.

Mass Effect ‏ @masseffect
@asenza Duly noted. We'll be sure to start on the calibrations necessary.

Screenshot for posterity.

Pretty much this. Bless that man for reading the letter. ALL MY FEELS, SIR. It's so beautiful and touching, makes me remember why I love Thane so much. The guy (anyone know who it is?) did a great job because hearing it made me all emotional again. *cries*

Sorry for this, but the gloves are coming off for a moment.  Listening (and reading) that letter makes me need to express how crappy receiving that letter again in me3 really is.  The following is MY interpretation of the Thane letter from LotSB:

1) You can view the letter on Liara's ship right after the SM.  I always go straight to her ship after the SM, not only for the letter, but also for the investments and to check out new vids.  This to me says that he wrote that letter either right before or right after their romance scene.  Personally, I always saw him writing it BEFORE the coupling, and THAT is why he walks in to Shep's loft and becomes so emotional.  The letter prompted him to express his feelings, and once he did, he realized how much he wanted to live.  Time wise and emotion wise (IMO) it makes sense. Let's never forget, they did call the last mission the "Suicide Mission".....good enough reason to write down your thoughts for a loved one should the worse happen.

2) Because (to me) there can be no way that this was written during the six month separation (or after she sees him again, based on the fact that you see the letter in ME2 first), it really reflects moreso on the SM than on the Kepral's.....(and yes, I realize it ALSO is reflecting on the fact he has a terminal illness, but.....)  Giving us this letter again was poorly done.  EVEN for those that didn't see it (and I'm sorry, but I suspect that most Thanemancers have seen this letter BEFORE me3), it still is a reflection over something past.

3) This also makes me think that perhaps they assumed for us Thane-fanatics, that they were doing us a favor (in RETROSPECT) by foreshadowing his death.  But.....again, this doesn't fit with context to me.  And, well, it feels like a cope out.  As if they looked at the storyboard for me3 and said.....'hmmmm we need some more cowbell...errr....ANGST....Thane!  He'll do just fine.' <toss of the island>.

Alright.  Enough of my rant.  Actually, it was much tamer than how I formed it in my head....(lots of cussing and colorful phrasing......Posted Image)

It was nice to hear, but...

I'd rather Thane alive and telling my Shep he loves her, as opposed to a post-mortem declaration that we've all heard and read before.

But seriously, thanks bunches for this. May not be Keythe, but he certainly sounds like Thane when he says "siha." I just love the sound of that word.

I am crying so hard right now.... ALL MY FEELS. The broken heart is not on the mend.

Even though it wasn't Keythe, it was still beautiful. I really wish he'd read it for us.

Well add me to the crying list. I left some tear drops on my daughter's math homework too. Poor kid came in while I was listening and asked me to check it for her. Even though it was not Keythe, it was still beautiful and I commend this person for doing such a great job. Oh why BW!!! I think I'm going to go pound sand in protest.

I would bang my head on my desk but last time I hit the desk, bad things happened. My coffee spilled, Thane took a tumble off the side as did Undertaker..well Thane got it worse. I had not finished my bag of microwave popcorn and had just placed it beside my desk. Thane took that swan dive and ended up head first into a sea of buttery goodness. I had to clean him off and then hunt for his little SMG.

Oh dear, I just reread what I wrote and it was intended to be innocent, I can see where it could go wrong. I even left off the part about how I licked him at first to get the butter off just so that I wouldn't seem weird, freakish, or dirty. No, I didn't get hallucinations..bummer. But I did have some really out there thoughts, I'm just glad the only set of eyes that saw me doing this was my cat.
