Add to it the fact that they cannot even acknowledge our existence in their own forums and it is just too much.

Besides, there's so much to be angry about when it comes to the way they treated Thane! Why waste a little inexplicable rage on their absence from the forum when you can channel it all towards that?
And just for a very sobering reminder:
"Yeah, I wasn't in charge of Thane, but I see Thane's death situation as one of those things that's the drawback of a large writing team. Lots of followers talk about the Citadel Event in terms of what happens with the VS, but because Thane was optional, it didn't click with any of us that the player could also have just lost a friend or loved one THERE as well. That was a dropped ball on our end."
Thing is, I don't blame him. I blame all those people who wouldn't shut up about how if Thane didn't die, it would ruin his character. Looks like it didn't take a cure to do that, ne?
Maybe they were louder than we were. Maybe it really was a time/budget limit thing. Or maybe they really just don't care about female gamers.

@Taavo-The letter is so beautiful, I think it says more than Thane does the entire game...getting that letter after Thane's death is jarring, given how out of character he seems. Resigned to death, back to being asleep. He said he loves Shep in the letter, they should be acting like they're in love dammit!

I've been working on my art piece for the fanbook in the meantime. I don't consider myself a good artist, but I'm pretty happy with it so far and looking forward to submitting it.
I actually dislike drawing, but Thane is worth it.

Traynor says "I love you"? Seriously? Okay that is just ridiculous, the Femshep/Traynor romance is nothing but an awkward to watch fling. It's nowhere near a relationship, it's a "we might die lets screw" one night stand. No one says "I love you" during those. We know Thane felt like it wasn't a one night stand, he told Shep he loves her in his letter. It really needed to be said in-game.
Uhuh. They even talk about getting a house together and having kids. Hello. I wanted to talk about kids with my sexy green drell man, WAS THAT OPTION GIVEN AT ALL. NO.
*rolls on the floor kicking and screaming 'I want my thaney-poo!!'*
They just met, and I would hardly call that a relationship. Now they are saying I love you. They want to get a house and have kids.
Even Garrus and Shepard discuss adoption.
I can't believe they gave femShepard and Traynor that kind of dialogue, and we get nothing even close to that.

Yeah, it does need to be said. Sadly, none of us exist in here. It's really sad and pathetic that bw cannot respond to any of our concerns/issues in this thread. For me, their silence is deafening and will be remembered.
It's seriously eating away at me.. I was looking forward to ME3 sooo ridiculously much. The endings don't even bother me that much (Indoctrination Theory ftw), and that is something they claim to have genuinely worked hard on, but even after admitting they dropped the ball on thane they can't even throw us a bone. They are probably thinking 'who care's it's only the female fanbase that suffers, and probably about less than a quarter of them as well. They'll get over it eventually'.
Seriously though, does anyone have an estimate of how many female gamers would have romanced him? I was only aware until now that Kaiden was so popular, maybe because I was getting a lot of guy opinions I though everyone hated him. And I've recently noticed the massive garrus romance fanbase.. as much as I ****g love garrus, I can't imagine romancing him.. just too weird physically haha. Thane was the only real option for me the moment I even knew about him being in ME2.
Bw's silence is just as offensive as what they did to Thane. They've addressed the endings and that seems to be it. They've got to know by now that people aren't happy with how they handled certain characters. It's going to have to be addressed eventually. I'm thinking we'll get a "We're sorry you're displeased with said character's role-here's some new MP content!"
I'm sure there's a poll around here that estimates how many people romanced Thane and the other LI's. I remember voting on a favorite LI poll and Garrus, Kaiden, and Liara were ahead of Thane for female player's fav LI

Don't even want to think about Traynor. She has duck face.
And while the letter is beautiful, it would have been nice not to get it *again*. Hell, have Keythe read it while she's dying or something. Instead of Liara's face would be great. kthx
Also, what is smh?

Hehe smh means "shaking my head". I don't know why I decided to put that in there...I usually don't type like that! I don't understand getting that letter again either, yes we know Thane wanted Shep to read it after he died but we already saw it. We already cried over it. It's beautiful and great, but recycling it is just lazy. How hard would it have been for Shep to tell Thane she knew about the letter, and that she felt the same. Did bw also forget we already received the letter after LOTSB? It damn well looks like it.

To be entirely fair, it might have been there for players who didn't play LOTSB, because then they would never have seen it. But I agree that there should've been something else for Thanemanced Sheps who played SB.
Like, say, an actual romance

But most people who romanced Thane have seen the letter. Even if they didn't get LOtSB it's not hard t find.
I honestly think they were just being lazy. They didn't want to give us anything new, and if they were going to give us that same letter then they should have had Thane read it. That would have been nice.

Most people here, yes. But these forums are not a representative sample of the player base for Mass Effect. We're simply the most passionate ones.

Hmm i still believe there are a lot of thane fans that don't really voice that they like him as much, there are loads of comments on youtube and stuff so I got the impression that Garrus had the biggest fanbase, then Thane was below by only a litte, and then Kaiden was like way down there, and Jacob was pretty much non-existant lol. If they had handled Thane well in ME3 his fanbase wouldn't be diminishing so much

I'm not going by these forum. There are other places on the internet as well. I just think the percentage of people that haven't read the letter and romanced Thane is very small. I could be wrong though.
I just wish they had done something different.

This.
With the addition that when Thane was romanced there should be green Shepard/ Thane babies and Kolyat as a big bro for them! Also Garrus for babysitting!

About the LOTSB letter-most ME fans have played the DLC, maybe by sending the letter again it's to cater to the newer fans to the series. No matter what the reason I didn't like it, and most Thane-mancers didn't either.

Neither of my Shep's romanced Thane; he was a biotic mentor for my FemShep and an epic bro for my ManShep. But I want more content for him in ME3, and I'd honestly like it not to be romance exclusive. One of my biggest pet peeves in ME2 was how not romancing characters automatically reduced their content significantly.
I suppose they fixed that in ME3 by just axing the ME2 characters across the board. It's like trying to get rid of a tumor by ripping out the whole goddamn organ <_<

I don't think Kaidan was that popular before ME2. When they saw the way he was treated more people who liked him started coming forward. I think he'sstill more popular than Ashley though. I believe Garrus does have the biggest fanbase. He has alwasy been pretty popular. From what I've heard Thane was more popular before ME2 came out.
I would never say Thane isn't popular. We just don't see every Thane fan on BSN.

I'm sure the Thane votes would be much higher if he was handled better in ME3, trust me, I think the fact that Kaiden and Ash got so much more content in ME3 pushed me towards Kaiden more even though I feet a bit indifferent towards him (i loved him the first time i played ME1, but then I started to find him a bit boring). But then I realised it was only because I was jealous of how much content he got compared to Thane, I know where my love really is lol.
