I love all the drawings and videos, y'all are great. I was content to let the pregnant Shepard go until I saw the pic of what a Thane/Shep child would look like. But now....

~~Some 16 years in the future~~
Shep: Thane what are you doing?
Thane:  Shhh...Siha, our daughter has a date.
Shep:  Love, get off the balcony and put the sniper down.
Thane:  I must protect our daughter.
Shep:  From what, having a life?
Thane:  No something much worse, teenage male hormones.
Shep:  Put it down Thane, you are not going to kill him.
Thane:   Kill No but he will go from male to female in less than a second.
Shep:  Will you put that thing away!
Thane:  Siha, if you had said those words to me, I would not be here today worrying about our daughter.
Shep:

Every time I read Siha, I hear Thane's voice and melt into a pile of kittens, puppies and low-cal cupcakes...and baby krogans.

I still haven't played my Thane-romanced save...I'm kind of dreading it. :crying:

I feel your pain, had I known how badly they botched this, I would not have even bothered playing the game or if I felt the need to just because I bought it, I would have ran with a non-imported Sheploo. But now I can't even do that, I see the hospital and I immediately think of Thane sitting there all alone. It's ruined for me.

If you've played a game where Thane is present, you've pretty much played a Thane romance. Posted Image

Sad but true.

I just played through the citadel coup last night for the second time. The first time, not knowing what was going to happen in the end, I got sick to my stomach, actually physically ill. I figured now that the suspense is gone, it wouldn't bother me.

It still did. Not as much, but it still did. Yelling at Shepard to fire her damn gun while Kai was just laying there helped a little bit, but not much.

And later, I still have no idea why Shepard gets kicked out of the hospital room - especially a romanced Shepard. I'd have liked to see at least a conversation with Kolyat, see how he's doing, what he's been up to and whatnot.

So many wasted opportunities...

...and now I return to MP to try and unlock a Drell adept... I wish I could trade my Quarian infiltrator for one. I'm a terrible sniper.

I played a little last night too. I hate how the game just kicks you out of the room. The it locks so you can't go back in. All you can do is stand there and star in the window.

It would have been nice to talk to Kolyat and find out what he's been doing. It seems like you can do it with other characters, but not with Thane's son. We don't even know if he was still on the citadel at the end.
I would be surpised if he was and bioware decided to killed him too.

@JECW Glad to know others were standing at that window too...:crying:
I was thinking the same thing  last night how it would have taken the writers  only a  few minutes to include a mesage from Kolyat, maybe mentioning where he'd gone. (Kahje or Rakhana for example) We did save his life and obviously he knew from the hospital scene Shep and Thane were close. It would have been something at least to know he wasn't on the citadel by the end. We got that annoying message from Kai Leng. It really bothers me we never know what happens to him.

You know I seriously forgot about that troll letter from ding-a-Leng until now. I remember reading it the first time and laughing. Not the good laughing but the kind that just happens and you are saying to yourself, "I hate you, I really, really hate you. I'm going to kill you. Your momma will cry when she's seen what I've done to you." I was also thinking about how much he was going to get it for Thane. "You're not as weak as I thought. But never forget that your best wasn't good enough to stop me." You troll bastid and your best wasn't enough to stop you from getting your ass handed to you by a terminally ill drell.

I think Kai Leng was a complete joke, and the worst excuse for an assassin. I expected a little more from him. He wasn't smart or funny. He didn't even offer much of a challange to anyone. All he could do was tell you to shut up, and hide behind gunships. This is who cerberus sends after you.

Exactly.
We get messages from almost everyone. We even get one from Feron.
I'm wondering if Kolyat was still on the Citadel at the end. Is he dead too.
Bioware could have done so much more with that too. It just becomes more obvious everyday that they put no real thought into Thanes romance or story. They create this new character and race and then do nothing with them.

When the Prothean VI said "The Reapers have taken control of the Citadel" I thought...

My god, everyone there must be dead.

Kolyat instantly came to mind. The idea of him and all of the citizens on the Citadel, all the refugees from other systems being slaughtered/indoctrinated/huskified made my stomach turn. I honestly felt physically sick.

It was something I didn't even want to fathom, so I tried to put it from my mind. That sick feeling didn't go away, it just got worse.  I wanted to think they were just trapped inside, but the Citadel blows up in most of the endings.

A quote from King Theoden (LOTR) came to mind:

"So much death.  What can men do against such reckless hate?"

Kolyat is not on the Citadel (in my head anyway).  He high tails it out of there with Thane's body to "give it to the deep" and they are both long gone when Harby shows up.  That is the last thought my Shep had when she swan dived into oblivion.  Kolyat was safe and she did it for Thane.  That and "why was I remembering Liara?"Posted Image

I'd like to think that, too.  He left to go take care of things back on Kajhe.  Except, well, my Shepard missed out on the service.

That's what I like to think too, that Kolyat was at least safe. After all it was the last thing Shepard could have done for Thane. The potential they had to add even more depth and emotion to the story was lost when they completely ignored Thane's story.

Same thoughts here.  But damn, why do we have to get trolololed by bw with this non-existent (character breaking) romance, then made to "speculate", on our own, as to the whereabouts of our dead boyfriends son!!!  Damn....they really need a "murderous" emoticon....bleh!

I posted this in the protesting thread as well.  For anyone that wants to tackle this thread, just make sure you read the first post.  They are looking for dialogue that may have occurred indicating that you were going to be together.  Posted Image

Did you and your LI agree to get married in Game?

I hate getting locked out of the room too afterwards..that's where my sad shepard was standing looking in the window thinking "wtf? was that really all there is?"  I'm all sad with tears coming down my face because the whole thing was just horrible..then my kids come downstairs and say "who's that in the hospital bed?" looks at me "what happened?" :crying:great now i've got to tell them that they killed off Thane like a bunch of jerks. So I do, I tell them and they all start crying.."He was the best one! He was my favorite! Why did they do that!"  It's true all three of them burst into tears (my oldest boy is 12 then i've got 2 daughters 10 and 6) so we're all sad and my husband comes in the door right then from work.."What's going on?" all worried.."Thane's dead" I think he thought we were all crazy but I didn't care it was just wrong on so many levels... I hate that hospital. Oh, And Thanks BW for making my kids cry.

I hope so too. I hate to think of him  and Thane still on the Citadel when that happens. Knowing what the reapers would do to him. I have no idea what they would do to Thane since he is already dead.
Every other LI that's alive we know are pretty much safe at the end. Even though Thane is dead I want to believe that his body is safe as well and not something for the reapers to experiment on.

Yeah, and if you stare long enough and look away for a minute...his lower half sinks through the bed. Great bw. Thanks for that. :(

I didn't see his body sinking.
I probably didn't look long enough. That scene just made me mad, and the fact that game just throws you out. It's like they telling us he's gone so move on.

Thank you!
I call her 'Jurie' and she is made of the face of my FemShep and Thane's head.
Well, and in my ff she is very upset about the fact that she looks more human than drellish and wishes she could be a genuine drell. Her twin brother Thane jr. is quite the opposite (more drellish than human) but never complaining about what he is.;)

I am discussing in another forum with people who think Thane's apprearance in ME 3 is just great (well, the did play MaleShep and so had no romance with Thane). They cannot understand my point of view ... well, of course, they got ther Liara or Tali romance (and still complain that they did not get enough)..
It's so sad when most people tell you, that you are wrong and your opinion does'nt count anyway.
