I am discussing in another forum with people who think Thane's apprearance in ME 3 is just great (well, the did play MaleShep and so had no romance with Thane). They cannot understand my point of view ... well, of course, they got ther Liara or Tali romance (and still complain that they did not get enough)..
It's so sad when most people tell you, that you are wrong and your opinion does'nt count anyway.

People complain, that's what they do. Even Liara people are not satisfied and that makes me go
It's the people that are so narrow-minded that they cannot see both sides of the angle that drive me to fury. Why is it so hard to see *both* sides?
I usually try to keep out of discussions about Thane because I know nobody wants even to think about my point of view. But sometimes I cannot hold myself back (I should work harder on this, I know).JECW wrote...

Sometimes I don't even want to waste my time with people like that.
That is exactly what I think. And there is always the stupid argument that we all knew Thane was deterimined to die since ME 2. Is this set in stone? Why? We are also told that Shepard wants to destroy the reapers and this seems to be the main goal of the series - but we did not only get the destroy ending but the option for the synthesis ending and the control ending ... so why did we not get the choice to cure Thane in some way? And why did we not get a really epic fight with Kai Leng where Thane sends him to hell (not this silly fight we got where everybody behaves like an idiot)? If they didn't do the romance then they will probably never get it. Some of them don't even try to understand your point of view. They would also be the first ones crying like a baby if Bioware did to Tali and Liara what they did to Thane. I just think most don't care. As long as bioware didn't do it to them then they are fine with everything else.
And don't forget the Garrus' fans ... they get so much compared to us.What really makes me angry is that they want more. As if Liara and Tali didn't get enough. Especially Liara.
She has gotten more than anyone in the game, and she still can't die.

I just went data-diving into the sound files for the dream sequences in order to see what I could dig up re: any underlying themes etc. I didn't find anything of use there, but I DID find a few from Thane that I've never ever heard him say in-game (I don't think I've ever heard Thane in the the dreams, actually). ANYWAY.
Thane's lines: - His prayer to Kala'Hira
- "It seems there will be no-one to mourn me when I die. You are the only friend I've made in ten years" (HORRIBLY ironic considering the treatment he got in ME3 re: mourning)
- The "don't make yourself an island" line I believe you get when you go a bit Renegade on him back in ME2
AND
"You are a great protector, Siha, but some things are beyond even you."
Which made me a bit teary - but then I thought you all you fellow Siha out there, fighting to give Thane something better in ME3, and I have to say it is a comforting thought that even if the options for Shep in ME3 are horribly limited, there are people out there outside the game still trying to get results for Thane, and for the FemSheps who care about him. Keep at it, guys

"It seems there will be no-one to mourn me when I die. You are the only friend I've made in ten years"-This is actually what I thought of after he died, and it felt horrible to know Thane was actually right. No one is there to mourn him, not even Shep, his Siha. I didn't know that played in the dream sequence though...that seems like a dick move honestly. Bw just likes to do that sh!t I guess.cogsandcurls wrote...

Hearing Mordin and Thane in my dreams actually hit me hard, I think I teared up when I first heard Thane. I heard Kaiden too, since Ash was my VS. Funnily enough Tali ended up taking a trip down the cliff in my PT and I never heard her voice in my dreams. Thank god, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Tali's death is a little over dramatic to me. I've heard Mordin as well.
I hated having him die.
Can you save Mordin at all or does he always die no matter what?

He can live. I don't exactly know how but some people have had him live. I think Wrex has to be dead or something.
So pretty much you have a choice in every character if you want them to live or die.... but not Thane of course <_<

I'd do anything in my game to have Thane survive and be with Shep. The whole universe is pretty effed in the end anywaymnomaha wrote...
I love Mordin. I really do. But I can't betray Wrex and Eve like that, nor could I commit genocide. Not for that.
However, if I had to choose between the jellyfish and Thane...no contest. Thane wins.
