Hearing Mordin and Thane in my dreams actually hit me hard, I think I teared up when I first heard Thane. I heard Kaiden too, since Ash was my VS. Funnily enough Tali ended up taking a trip down the cliff in my PT and I never heard her voice in my dreams. Thank god, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Omg so it's not just me, I think her voice got incredibly annoying in ME3 haha. It didn't bother me so much in ME1 and ME2, but in this one, especially in the 'drunk Tali' scene I was like oh god hurry up and spit it out already haha. I like Tali a lot but, maybe I'm just super bitter towards everything in ME3 now..

It's definitely not just you! I've always quietly disliked Tali, most people do like her so I've never really mentioned it. I watched that drunk scene on youtube-her going on about the straw? She's the least funny character to me, no matter how hard bw may try. I find her immature too, she acts like a brat to Shep during her loyalty mission in ME2 I think. I don't usually roast characters, but I am super bitter as well!

I like Tali more in fanfiction, I don't have to hear her voice and the first thing out of her mouth isn't always "my people".

Haha yeah I started to like her less when I realised how frakin' racist all quarians are towards geth. I mean seriously, you make somethin and it turns into somethin more, if you try and kill it, then yeah it's going to rebel. And in ME3 they tried to make her seem 'cuter' probably for all the Talimancers, and there was one part in the Grunt/Rachni queen mission where you shoot one of those pod things and the little crawly things spew out, and if you take Tali she starts squealing 'Spiders! Spiders! Spiiddderrrss'. Seriously what. We've dealth with rachni before, how can she be scared of 'spiders'? and they AREN'T even spiders..

LOL that's right dude-don't mess with Thane's room.

Now I'm thinking how ironic it is that Thane was in the Life Support room at all. Considering bw did not support his life and all...

Ugh, Miranda wouldn't make it into that room, I'd toss her out the airlock...to be fair, I'd do it to anyone who tried to set up camp in there.  People wonder why Miranda wasn't on the Normandy.  I can think of one very good one, her past loyalty to Cerberus comes to mind.  I know it's Shep's ship and she pretty much puts who she wants on it but it is still an Alliance vessel.  There is no way in bloody blue hell they are going to just let Miranda who was once TIM's cheerleader on that ship.  I'm also aware that Miranda told TIM to stick it but as far as the Alliance is concerned she probably can't be trusted knowing how deep her loyalties once lied.

You know it could have been possible to have ME2 squadmates come up to the normandy and visit (maybe not Miranda with her Cerberus background, but like Jack or Thane could, and Miranda and Jacob could have recieved an equally nice scene somewhere else).

*sigh* Yeah, it's all about "could have" because yeah, "dropped ball".

Someone mentioned something on this wall post that made a lot of sense. EA (boo!) is predominantly sports games. Aren't sports games MP? Hmmmm...

Very true.
I still think Miranda could have come up too. Nobody would have said anything because the Normandy is Shepard ship. Bioware just didn't want to. They missed so many opportunities.Mordin was the only on form ME2 to come on the ship. It would have been nice if they had let us have a date with Thane or something.

Thane is the only one who didn't have some kind of mission too.

I just went data-diving into the sound files for the dream sequences in order to see what I could dig up re: any underlying themes etc. I didn't find anything of use there, but I DID find a few from Thane that I've never ever heard him say in-game (I don't think I've ever heard Thane in the the dreams, actually). ANYWAY.

Thane's lines: - His prayer to Kala'Hira
- "It seems there will be no-one to mourn me when I die. You are the only friend I've made in ten years" (HORRIBLY ironic considering the treatment he got in ME3 re: mourning)
- The "don't make yourself an island" line I believe you get when you go a bit Renegade on him back in ME2

AND

"You are a great protector, Siha, but some things are beyond even you."

Which made me a bit teary - but then I thought you all you fellow Siha out there, fighting to give Thane something better in ME3, and I have to say it is a comforting thought that even if the options for Shep in ME3 are horribly limited, there are people out there outside the game still trying to get results for Thane, and for the FemSheps who care about him. Keep at it, guys <3

"It seems there will be no-one to mourn me when I die. You are the only friend I've made in ten years"-This is actually what I thought of after he died, and it felt horrible to know Thane was actually right. No one is there to mourn him, not even Shep, his Siha. I didn't know that played in the dream sequence though...that seems like a dick move honestly. Bw just likes to do that sh!t I guess.

The only line I ever heard from the dreams was the one about being a great protector, I loved that one. I actually just stood still in my dreams, hoping to hear Thane speak more. Eventually the game just cut to the scene with the little brat. He never said that line about being a great protector in ME2, right? That would mean we actually got a new line, no way!

I think the Protector line is new as far as I can tell, yeah. It's romance-specfic as well, which means - GASP - we get a whole line of new content! ....After Thane's dead. And my Shep never heard Thane in her dreams :/

Also, I don't care about the kid at all. I hated that he was the focus of all Shepard's dreams. If she's going to have guilt-ridden dreams then that's fine, but at least let it be reserved for people who she actually cared about who died. My Shep's background was colonist (so she saw everyone she knew and loved get slaughtered by slavers, including parents), then sole survivor (she watched her entire squad get Thresher Mawed), then she lost Kaidan and Mordin and the love of her life, Thane. I resented the game trying to make out that my Shepard was more fixated on that boy than any of the people she actually knew and loved that she watched die. :/

I remember reading that 'Protector" line in the leaked script. It was one of Thane's responses during the hospital death scene.

Shepard: Damn right. I didn't give you permission to die on me.
Thane: Heh, heh, heh. [Coughing fit.] Don't make me laugh. Hard to breathe as it is. You are a great protector, siha. But some things are beyond even you.

I am crying. Again. ;_;

Also, I agree completely about the random kid. I had zero emotional investment in him so getting him shoved in my face repeatedly was highly unwelcome. Thane was the love of my Shepard's life but she showed more emotion over the kid than she did when Thane died. It makes me so angry. Don't get me started on the dreams and being forced to chase that random child around. The only good thing about the dream sequences was hearing the whispers of characters Shepard actually cared about.

I thought EA was associated with ME2 as well though, I don't know why ME3 was this screwed over and ME2 wasn't..

Probably pure laziness, we all knew ME3 would be the last game, so they kept telling us. They figured it didn't matter what they did to it because we would buy it because it was supposed to be the end of Shepard's story. I can hear their laughter now, "yeah this is crap but they WILL buy it. It's the end of Shepard's story, we have them right where we want them. All their money are belong to us!!"

IDK, maybe ME2 was more into the development stage when EA took over? It was a far superior game IMO. The same with DA:O. That game was incredible.

*siigghh* DA:O.. and to think the first time I played it, I didn't like it much at all. But it turned out that was because I was reallyyyy bad at it haha (the combat took some time getting used to). Now it's one of my favourite games, sooo good. *sigh* ME3 was meant to get on my favourite games list, along with kotor, ME1 and 2 :(

Yeah, DA:O was an awesome game. ME1 (okay) and ME2 (great) are some of my favourite games. However, so are The Witcher games. Amazes me that such a small company can put out such superior games.

hehe I love the Witcher games, so in my book you're an awesome person! Anyway I've heard CD projekt is going to give it a shot at making a sci-fi game after they're done with the witcher series. I guess I'll have that to look forward to if BioWare doesn't fix all the problems with Mass Effect.

That ***king little ankle biter! I hate that kid....and I didn't even play to the end!! I had zero emotional response to him....mostly because (as some of you already know), I had a real problem with the way this game even started out. So, didn't real care what was going on in my neck of da woods (PNW). You have my Shep getting bent outta shape for Alliance s***, and a kid I don't know, and barely see for more than a few seconds, and that is supposedly going to tug at my heart strings. Ya know what really tugs at MY heartstrings???? A glimmer of hope in a sea of despair....cliched? Maybe, don't care. It still works for me! So give me choices to save Thane, dammit!

breathe......drink wine.......yell at the cat to stop attacking my foot.......

Ohhhh, really? That's awesome news. If they put as much hard work and HEART into the new  games, I'm sold. I just love CDPR, their constant updates, free DLC, gorgeous graphics. damn, drooling and it ain't even about Thane.

You should join us on the Protest thread here. Rather enjoyable right now. ;)
