Here's what I sent them as a plausible scenario...minus the laughing, troll, and kiss my behind comments. I kept it professional.

For those trolls that say Thane cannot be cured without Space Magic. I put together a believable way to do it. Of course it makes Liara important but who cares, Thane lives without it seeming contrived. Liara knows what Thane means to Shepard, she saw the pain on her face when talking to her after the events of LotSB. Since Liara is the Shadow Broker, her access to information is limitless. From ALREADY established lore in ME: Revelation, organs are being cloned with success by the Batarians. Ding, Liara finds this out and puts 2+2 together and realizes that this would help her friend Shep. She passes this info and how it's being done to Kolyat. Liara is cunning, she knows that passing this on to Thane's son will make Thane more receptive to going through with something like this. To add some more realism in there, the "Thane must die" trolls love realism, the organs can only be cloned with healthy viable tissue. Which means right away, Thane cannot use his own but since we know that Kolyat's blood type matches Thane's it is not a stretch to assume his organ tissue would be viable as well. Winner!! Kolyat convinces his father this would be a good idea since they made up and all. Thane does it, Thane lives. Stick it trolls, I found a way that makes sense and if you are still bent on making him die then leave him unromanced and/or unloyal.

I also went into a whole crap load of detail about how this would affect the oxygen in his blood. The initial idea took less than 5 minutes, the medical crap involved took a bit longer, I didn't want a glaring hole punched in what was already established and what I was trying to say.

If they don't like that, they can go with my much simpler approach, "Go ask Miranda, she helped rebuild a dead Shepard, I'm sure a few organs are no issue for her." In no way shape or form did I EVER suggest to anyone to go harvest organs from people, I'm not that Salarian Creep in ME. I just want people to know I might have to draw a line in saving Thane. (I said might) Plus, I don't think he'd love Shep too much if she went out and got some black market organs or harvested live Drell for them.

Nice work! If Bioware had put half that amount of effort into it there'd be a lot of very happy fans...

This is absolutely brilliant! And it makes perfect sense :D

Such lovely sights to wake up too...I'd like to say I'm going to get something constructive done right now I would by lying. I'm going to sit here and lick my monitor.

@Eliza

I'm planning on putting together a project where I 'fill in the blanks' of where Shepard should have remembered and mourned Thane. It's going to take some creative flycam cinematography and green screening even, but I can do it.

Fantastic idea!

The reason why I haven't, yet, is because I sort of want to wait and see if they do anything about the situation. I could throw something together if you guys really want it, however.

Since we don't know if they will fix the Thane story arc and when I would appreciate if you could "throw something together" for all the Sihas here.<3 I am pretty sure you will do a good video.

Love the logic! It's too bad everyone was so short-sighted. He was character of the year! But no, it's oh, he's dying = dead. Why write anything interesting or meaningful? He's dying so let's just kill him off.

THEN we get the "we forgot" excuse - well if you had truly forgotten, wouldn't he have just been excluded from ME3 entirely???

So disappointed and angry. Need me some RageyShep - think I'll go into the War Room and use the grenade launcher.

Heh, I tended to melee everything in sight when I got mad in ME3-and doing that to Brutes is kind of painful, but sigh...it helps!

When I first played, and ran across Allers, I thought she was just some random reporter. I thought I'd be nice for some kind of Paragon points since I wasn't too nice to ME2's reporter.
Then she asks if she can come on the ship, and I wondered why.
Now that I've talked to her and seen she's a romance,
I still wonder why. o.o

I have no idea. She wasn't worth the war asset. I want to cry when I think of the wasted resources that went into her creation. There were so many established characters that the fans loved who were neglected - ME2 squad I am looking at you.

So gorgeous! Thane looks so hot sexy droolworthy  peaceful and the sea and sky in the background is breathtaking.
It's so, so beautiful. <3 Is this the art you said would be submitted to the fanbook?

I posted this in the other thread, but what the hey. I wanted to show a fairly easy way to "fix" the Thane progression. Everything in the chart is already tracked and flagged in the game mechanics, so it's just a little bit of coding, and cutscene additions.

RShara, I love this. Maybe you should consider submitting it to the fanbook with a blurb about how other characters can be saved depending on player choices (Miranda, Mordin, etc) and this is a way to point out how the same *could* be true for Thane.

I asked the same thing on the other thread.  I think this would be an excellent addition to the Fanbook.

The chart is great RShara.
I agee that this should definitely be in the fanbook.

I think it's too scribbly to be in something as nice as the fanbook :)

You know what's funny? Bioware is having a video contest right now. It looks like hardly anyone was motivated to enter. I might have entered and dedicated a video to Thane/Female Shepard if they hadn't messed up so badly. As it stands, though, I'm too angry to give them any more free promotion at this time.

But then again:

"Best Cinematic Re-dub, where one or more cinematics from Mass Effect 3 are re-imagined, allowing you to provide your own take on the dialogue."

This has potential.

What do you guys think?  Get away with protest via contest?

*wicked grin*

That'd be a really awesomely sneaky clever way to gain some attention to the fact that it could have been handled better and still be emotionally impactful. What are your ideas on how to do this?

DO IT!!  Yes x 1000!!  Posted Image

You're videos are awesome!  Plus it probably won't occur to them that someone would actually submit anything to do with Thane, which might grab their attention!
