ME3 never happened as far as I'm concerned. I have my own logical explanations for why I can convince myself it didn't happen. Drell licking induced hallucinations. In case that doesn't work then I can say well my Shep never listened to Hackett and didn't go after Dr. Kenson so really, my Shep blew up nothing or killed any Batarians..well, not that day. And the one I imported, I didn't play Arrival on that one. If they want to get real technical after that and say, "Well you were an Alliance soldier and you worked with Cerberus." Yeah well, she WAS in her other life. Not this one. Even if that is not good enough for the Alliance, Hackett knew where she was and he never bothered to drag her in once he knew, he didn't want too. I saw the message where he denied the Alliance's request to go get her (basically). Regardless, if they think they have good cause, my Shep is keeping the Normandy in stealth and dodging them. She has a ship full of Alliance defuncts, Ken, Gabby, Dr. Chakwas, and Joker to name a few. And she likes them, so she's not going to let the Alliance get them either. My Shep is quite happy being Captain Shepard the Pirate Queen now with her first mate Thane. She also got sick of Kelly bringing scale itch onto her ship, so she threw her out the airlock.
What, no luv for "Ginger Snap"??
Yup.......didn't happen. I have the stealthiest craft in the Milky Way, and I only did Arrival once (Cate just ate some bad beans.......and licked a Drell). NONE of my Sheps would willingly turn themselves in for SIX MONTHS of house arrest...UH-UH!!
This is one of the reasons I didn't feel like I could write a letter to them....hell, I didn't even finish one game. Bah, it is what it is.

I have to say I was in tears the whole time and it's probably the best thing I've ever done.

EDIT:
To be honest, I probably won't finish it in time for the contest (only a few days), but I can still make it for the cause.
It's also sort of helping me emotionally, as I can create something I feel does Thane justice.

I actually have 12 letters from Thane fans right now, out of a total of 42 letters, great job! That's the most letters for any LI so far, with Jack not so far behind. But I know there's a few people on this thread who haven't sent me a letter yet. What are you waiting for?
If you need help or ideas coming up with the letter, just remember, passionate, but polite! What did you like, what didn't you like? Were your expectations met regarding how you last saw Thane in ME2? How well do you think Thane was portrayed in ME3? What do you wish was done differently?
Deadline for letters is Thursday 9 PM (EST). Gotta PM it to me or post on the above thread by then so I can be sure it gets printed out!!

I just feel like we are running circles here. Feels hopeless.... and pointless, to be honest. I used to love this thread and read it every day. Not its just painful to be here.
There are so much more important issues ( not for me, but for fans and its male majority) for BW to fix in ME3. We are a minority. The chance of making a Jack or Miranda DLC is much higher than a Thane one.
In the videogame industry it seems like it always is us females who gets the short end of the stick. I am simply tired of trying to change that

In my experience here on the BSN...
It's the loudest, most obnoxious and outspoken fans that seem to get what they want.
Might as well give it a shot. Bioware has a chance to improve Mass Effect 3. Whether they take that chance or not, is entirely up to them.
It's especially evident since Mass Effect 3 has been out for what, a month? The price has already dropped by half in some places, a lot of copies were returned early on by a lot of pissed off players, ratings are down. They are hurting in the wallet department already.
What they do now (even if it doesn't recoup their losses), is going to impact their future profits. Alienating and ignoring your customers isn't going to make them want to buy your products. Especially when they are something a person can get emotionally invested in. They can bite the bullet and makes things better, or continue to hide behind their overblown sense of pride and pathetic excuses.
Redemption. It's there staring them in the face. Do they want it? I hope so.
Thane is definitely a huge factor in that for me. I trusted them to do something great and instead we got this.

I understand and felt this same, but don't give hope..At last we have to try to get what we want. If we will not show BioWare that Thane is important for a lot of players they will not care about us.Friera wrote...
Is there even a slight chance of BW redoing the Thane part?

Anyway do You think it's stupid to care so much about fictional character? I had ruined day after Thane death...and ruined my fun from game. I even didn't care about EMS points anymore so my Shep died at the end..
To Visii...I wrote post in yours thread about PAX letter and I forgot to mention that I would gladly to see Thane in the Destroying ending instead of Liara I got ( You know , this scene where Shepards see Joker, Anderson and she should see her LI but if Thane was one we see Liara instead of him)

I'm still working on my letter. It's rather all-encompassing and a bit... lengthy.
Hahaha... I said lengthy.

Well, I think we are all very compassionate players just because we care about a fictional character. For me there is nothing wrong with it.RGC_Ines wrote...

BW should take it as a great compliment to the story writer of Thane character in ME 2 that we care so much about him and are so disappointed about his treatment and the handeling of the romance in ME 3. This only means the writer handled everything just right in ME 2 - otherwise we just would shrug our shoulders with a "who cares?" on our lips and switch to one of the many other romance options instead of breaking our minds day by day how to get a better treatment of Thanes story arc.

No I don't think there is anything wrong with caring about a fictioanl character. We all care about Thane just like the fans of the other characters care about them.
Bioware wants us to care about these characters. That's why it bothers us so much because he was so well writen in ME2. In ME3 he is treated like an afterthought and it makes no sense why they would do this.
