Would you like to see/hear more of Rakhana in ME3? Are any Drell still surviving there?, has the planet started to recover? This I would like to know (I don't expect to find out though).

Edit: top of page... better go an find something on DeviantART.

okay , I really like this drawing by ellestril

I resisted him for my first Shepard, but I couldn't resist him on my second playthrough.
Just that mysterious, assassin thing he has going on...<3
And the voice... oh the voice~

But I think I read at other posts talking about how they don't want Thane to be immediatly cured by a side quest.
I mean it is not even years since the suicide mission ended and the third game begins so I don't think a cure for a serious disease as lung cancer (face it... it is lung cancer) has been fully developed yet. One in experimental stage? Perhaps. But if Thane and Shepard decide to go for that I bet you there will be serious side effects that will be detrimental to Thane's Drell body. Medicine is a great innovation, but it's not magic.

Shortly put, I think Thane will die in ME3. But I expect a melodrama akin to a soap opera you find in daytime or asian dramas. And it will put more emotional strain to Shepard. If it makes me cry then Bioware have done a great job. I am expecting every scenes to be emotionally charged in a tasteful manner. I mean it is the last ME game.

But I want Thane to be happy. I really like him and his philosophy about killing and also loved how he quoted from Hobbes. He is an interesting character, both as a romance and non-romance.

But his medical reports state that he's a good candidate for transplant... Lung transplants are pretty successful in the real world, I guess that they would be even more so in ME.  I always kind of think of Keprals as something somewhere between CF and TB...
He won't be dying in any of my Playthroughs if I can help it!B)

Whether he lives, dies or just stays in a hospital the entire game, it will be fascinating and joyous to see him again.

Last I checked. Thane didn't want to spend his final moments lying down in a hospital.

It's not a cancer, though, it's a bacterial infection. At one point, hanar antibiotics successfully stopped this disease from progressing. But Kepral's has since become immune to the antibiotics. How recently this has happened, we do not know, but the hanar have been funding a genetic engineering program that they are adapting to drell for a few years now.

If they managed to bring Shepard back to life, I'm sure finding a treatment for a bacterial infection wouldn't be impossible ; )

I confrontation between Thane and Kaiden could be great, I'd expect it to be quite calm though with Thane showing his feelings mostly through his body language and a slightly altered tone of voice.

Heh, I'm going to be honest and say I sort of want drama, because I find romantic drama lulzy as all hell and could use the laugh. Mostly because I'm hoping to troll Kaidan on my canon renegon Shepard.

I'm interested in seeing how they portray all the romantic conflicts, but Thane's interests me because he doesn't come off as particularly aggressive most of the time- the whole 'cold confidence' thing. Hopefully BioWare doesn't go the cop-out route with him. You know, 'I'm dying and I'll totally understand if you want to be with someone else.' Pfft. I don't want/need 'roid raging angstbucket Thane, but you know... just... something.

Real eloquent there...

On the non-romance side, I'd like to see Thane have some philosophical talks on the state of the universe with Shepard. My brothers both play male Sheps but they still enjoy talking to/chilling with Thane; one of them uses him in-game almost as often as I do.

I'm interested in how Thane's going to handle the LI 'confrontation'.  My main Shep has only Thane as her LI, but I do have a couple Sheps that romanced Kaidan and then Thane and also one with Garrus in ME2.  I would hate if they had Thane cop out with the 'I'm dying, so go be happy Shepard' gig.  And honestly, I can't see him being that passive.  Remember, Thane's lost a woman he loved once, I don't know that he'd let Shepard go so easily.

Thane may seem cold, but he feels very deeply.  He was so moved by Irikah staring him down that he had to speak with her.  He was jolted back to life (so to say) by Shepard persuing him through the Dantius Towers.  In his romance scene he's so shaken that he's brought to tears. This guy oozes cool and confident, but he feels some things straight in his soul.  (And I love that he shows that side of him, mind you, but is not a hot mess, it's the perfect blend of sexy.)

Anyway, my point is that I don't think it would come to blows between Thane and the other potential LI, but I can't see Thane just rolling over and giving up.  The man never gives up (Serenya told us that too, I really owe her a drink.)

On the friendship side, I'd love to have chill time with Thane.  Even my Sheps that didn't romance him had him as their wingman and seriously enjoyed talking with him.  It'd be awesome to have some real debates / discussions with him and even possibly involving other squadmates.

Just showin' my support for Thane.

Here's a fan art I did for a contest (although I don't care about the contest itself, heh). I figured this would be an interesting turn than yet another "dying Thane" image:

I believe Thane would coolly stare down the former LI and state his case."I love Siha, I will stand by her as long as I am able" then just leave it at that. I do not believe there would be much drama from Thane, from Kaidan or Ashley, that's the speculation. I can see Kaidan getting upset and perhaps not being eloquent with his response.

It would be fun to see it though. :)

That's weird, because I think the exact opposite. Thane always struck my as that extremely mature individual who is considerate of others. I imagine something along the lines of "I'm willing to step aside," but then the final say will on the hands on Shepard.

I do agree on the less drama thing, though. But that goes right back to my point!

In other words, I don't see Thane making too much of a problem if or when he gets confronted by Kaidan. Instead, I see Thane as too mature for that, which would mean accepting the situation as is and willingly letting Kaidan have Shepard back, but while also keeping his feelings and love for Shepard in his heart.

Recall his line from ME2--from if you reject him when he first expresses interest in you:

"I hope I won't offend you if I carry you in my heart."

I think that says something... :D

LOL I want to know how you think he would behave while he did that. Would he be animated? Raise his voice? Or would he be calm? Total speculation, yes but interesting conversation nonetheless. And why would you think that?

I can't comment on the how part, because I simply have no idea. As for why, it's merely my perspective on Thane's character. I've romanced him three times throughout three separate playthrough's; I've heard practically all his dialogue and have since come to believe this to be a pretty safe conclusion, though I do not claim nor insist that it is in fact the case. :)

LOL, it's a partial agreement! Seems we agree that there won't be too much drama but we argue it from different perspectives or for different premises. I don't know which is which. :P

Have to agree with Kaimana, I don't think Thane would let Shep, just because Kaidan shows back up, doesn't "sound" right to me.

And I give my support for this thread and Love the titel! <3

Oh hey I remember this! I wanted to draw my Shep out but never got the chance.

There's no way Bioware could say no to that :D ........unless they're complete dicks.

And the collaboration has been added to the OP :D

And thanks to Rheia for the title ;)

As for Thane and Kaidan. Kaidan is usually a calm collected guy, but push him far enough and he will break. He showed that when he snapped the turians' neck (Thane isn't the only neck snapper!) However, I can't see Thane provoking him that far.

Out of all the LI's, I think that Shepard shows the most emotion to Thane. She holds his hands when they are talking, she is empathetic and doesn't dwell on his death when talking to Thane, and finally, she focusses on the present with Thane rather than the future (without?) Thane.

So for that reason, I think Thane will be more confident in the confrontation. Expecting that his Siha will choose him. But I dread to think what would happen if the confrontation leads to a choice, and what Thane would do if the femshep chose Kaidan...
