So you guys are not alone on switching over to DA. I miss Thane so much, but every time I think I'm ready to spend time with him, I can only take it for a few missions (ME2, of course).....and it goes without saying; still haven't finished a single run in me3. Sigh.
I have been currently finishing out a rogue F!Hawke with Fenris, and replaying one of my favorite Fenris/Hawke couples Zander Hawke (snarky mage). I have been running through act 3 with just Fenris and Zander; only time anyone else is invited to the party is when it is a companion quest. Zander is one of my favorite Hawkes; just managed to rp him better than most, and I have him rivalled with Anders while still being pro-mage (he was anti-Justice....hence the rivalry). Very interesting dynamics.
I adore Zev, but it took me three runs through DAO before I finally romanced him. I was a bit of a sucker for Alistair, and didn't even have Zev on my very first run (I let him go....had no idea what I was doing). Now I switch back and forth between Zev and Ali, but I have more run throughs with Zev as my LI (partly due to the fact that my two m!wardens end up with him, even though they start out with Morrigan....love that triangle).
As for Kaidan being Bi; just before me3 came out, I started up a new ME1 play through (m!Shep), and strangely enough, depending on the dialogue you pick (and how you interpret said dialogue), I actually could TOTALLY see Kaidan as bisexual.....or better put, Shepsexual (both male and female Shepard). I don't have the specific lines committed to memory, but I'm thinking of reloading a couple saves to listen to those lines again; possibily try out a couple other choices. Needless to say; don't have a problem with any characters being exclusively straight, gay, bi, or PCsexual (DA2 is really set up like that IMO).
Love ALL the choices!!

not only have I been playing my first garrus romance in ME2, I've started a new DAO game with a dalish elf for zevran ( I like the thought of playing DA2 with a dalish warden..haven't had one yet, because my 'canon' warden is a dwarf (see avatar) and I want to also make a human mage warden as well because that gal would be related to hawke.
I have also been playing a ton of Star Wars the Old Republic. that mmo is so much a bioware game with companions you can romance and everything.
im also going to replay 4 of my femsheps now that the face import is working and finely do two more femsheps in ME3. I hate what happens with Thane, but I like ME3 other then that..yes, including the endings.

I don't like Zevran and therefore never romanced him. At first I thought he would be at least a little bit like Thane but than I found out very soon that he isn't - for me he is just the opposite. Some more reasons I don't like him are that I don't like elfs in general and I don't like characters that are available for both genders - two reasons why even Fenris would never be an option for me at all. I played only the first 3 hours of DA 2. Then I read about the possible romances and since there is no real hetero romance I had no motivation go on playing the game. Made some more ME2 playthroughs instead, spending much time in life support<3.
I am glad and thankful, that Thane stayed hetero sexual in ME 3 and didn't change his gender preferences like Kaidan in the last game (**sarcasm on**Hey, why did BW forget to do this to Thane although they tried to do everything to destroy his well-set up character? I don't think it would fit in with his character for Thane to be bi, like from what we know of him he seems like he would be straight.
Also, I still absolutely love Ali-bear in DAO haha, he was who I romanced in my first couple of playthroughs.. until.. well you probably know the part I'm talking about lol. Let's just say I have a playthrough for him as a female human noble
My elves go with Zev though Another thing I can't stand is when guys are shorter than you (no offence to guys who are short), I just could not 'romance' (in real life or in a game haha) a guy who was shorter than me So that's why I only make elves to go with Zev haha.

Sandens vågor, sveper om hennes fötter,
Ökenvinden viskar hennes namn.
Ett namn endast känt av sanden.
En beskyddande ängel.
De svagas beskyddare.
Ondskans bestraffare.

That is beautiful, yet sad. I've felt that his role in ME3 (lack of role is more like it) was perfectly fine for an acquaintance of Shep's. You know, not quite a friend but someone you use to know or barely know.
Thane most definitely does not approve of his treatment in ME3.
