The sadness in this thread is making me cry. I don't wanna cry today.

Let's have some laughs instead:

Quoted for truth. Kai Leng was so underwhelming in ME3. He might have stood a change at being passable if they kept him as he was in the novels, but as he is, he is just a wash out and it is an insult that Thane was "killed" by him.

Damn you Bioware! We're never going to forgive this if you don't fix it. You do realise that don't you? That's... what... nearly 50,000 people who are never going to buy anything you do anymore? Wow. Smart call. *sarcastic clap* Bra-a-vo. <_<

Last one for now as I need sleep so I can finish all my Thane stuff later today. The Fanbook things, the LI thing..I have them in pieces and need to just send them to the email addy's but I want to proof read while I'm fully awake to make sure they are good to go.

Javik Still Rolling with the Trolls....

Javik: Keep your distance, Drell but it keep it where I can see it.
Thane: What is your issue now?
Javik: Our last exchange.
Thane: Javik, I did not make an advance you on.
Javik: Even so, I never was attracted to other men. I didn't think you were either.
Thane: I am not attracted to other men, never have been.
Javik: Just women then? Drell, Humans, and other races?
Thane: I am not going to entertain this.
Javik: Were you one of those assassins that had different women all the time?
Thane: No I was very loyal to my wife and am to Shepard.
Javik: What about before your wife? What about after your wife died?
Thane: Javik, this is not up for discussion.
Javik: With that response I'm going to assume one of two things either you were like an Asari escort or your experience is quite limited, very limited.
Thane: Assume what you want, I'm not answering that.
Javik: How old was your son when your wife died?
Thane: Is there a point? Am I falling into another bad husband, bad father conversation?
Javik: No, just answer my questions.
Thane: He was 10 years old.
Javik: I thought he was younger, probably in school when your wife was killed. Good to hear that.
Thane: Are you? I really don't trust this line of questions.
Javik: How long after your wife died did you meet Shepard?
Thane: I have a feeling I know where you are going with this. Javik, let it go.
Javik: I am merely curious, no insults.
Thane: Around 10 years passed between my wife's death and meeting Shepard.
Javik: So, you were 39 when you met Shepard, right?
Thane: Javik, drop it.
Javik: So, if you were 39 when you met Shepard and your wife died 10 years before that, you were 29 when she died. You said your son was 10 she died, so that would have made you 19 when he was born. I am going to assume that you did not immediately jump on your future wife when you first met her and impregnate her.
Thane: Why does this fascinate you so? You really can't be concerned with my personal history?
Javik: I am trying to fathom the attractiveness of a Drell.
Thane: You needn't worry yourself with such a thing.
Javik: Not a lot of women in your life. Unless you let loose after your wife died.
Thane: Enough Javik.
Javik: Don't want the Commander hearing about it, I take it.
Thane: She knows.
Javik: Was she the first human? How was that? What makes her better than another Drell?
Thane: Keep talking, you will get no more answers.
Javik: I bet she was. I bet you've barely made yourself available to any other women except your dead wife and Shepard. You are pathetic.
Thane: (remains silent)
Javik: I see you are serious, you really are not going to talk about this. How about something else? How about something else common to reptiles?
Thane: What?
Javik: Hemipenis, true or false. If true do they fork or have spines on them? Also if true, is it painful for the Commander? Can't imagine that being pleasant.
Thane: I really cannot believe I heard you correctly. I am going to forget I heard those questions.
Javik: I am perplexed, Drell. If true, do you use only one at time? Or do you use one then go for a second time with the other?
Thane: Unbelievable.
Javik: I will check the extranet if I have too or ask Joker. He looks the sort who would know.
Thane: You do that just don't come back to me when you have the answer.
Javik: Judging by the way she runs and walks sometimes, I placing my bets on spines and you are a greedy Drell who goes for seconds.
Thane: (walks away)

Man, Thane is so patient.. my Shep would have biotically punched Javik's face in by now! I bet jealousy was punishable by death in the Empire, which is why he feels like he can let it all out now :D

@Utaker - I love the Thane/Javik convos. Javik is such an arse - but in a lovavble-ish way. That said I think Thane's ready to hurt Javik very badly if he keeps going.

@Mythlover - Australian Fleet! *country-woman huggles* (if you haven't noticed - I hug a lot)

Tash, I will now *tacklehug* you in this thread too!!  Posted Image

I agree with Thane's spirituality as well - I found it quite interesting in that he sees himself as a tool to be wielded.

And as for him having Kepral's to make him interesting?  No way.  It was unnecessary!  His back story and character were enough to make him interesting.

@myth - My thoughts on Thane's RM - My Shep wanted to pick up the assassin as quick as possible.  And once heading up the tower, she realized that this wasn't a cold-blooded killer she was dealing with - he had saved workers from the mercs.  She was intriuged by that development.  After fighting across the bridge and getting to Nassana, I was hoping for a unique entrace - and I got it!  I (and my Shep) were duly impressed with the ease at which he took down Nassana's entire force and her.  And then the prayer - good GAWD.  My Shep was standing there slack-jawed drooling.  As if that wasn't enough, that line about "I was curious to see how far you'd go to find me, well here I am," had her hook, line and sinker.  She needed to KNOW this man - NOW.  I'm positive Garrus had to *ahemcough* to remind me (er Shep) why we were there, and to stop staring.
And then the dying.  But I immediately put that out of my mind as there is always something that can be done, ALWAYS.  And then once aboard the Normandy...as if I wasn't already lovesick, he bowed when he left the briefing room - *melts into puddle of goo*
He bows too???  Posted Image  Could he be more perfect?  Ok, so 8-12 months - good news.  Long enough to find a cure/save him.  Stop Collectors.  Hole up in apartment on desert planet with Thane after SM.  Then I"ll be able to have more drell loving in ME3, as it won't let me down.   We'll have a choice to do a cure/save him quest (with consequences of course), and then the Reapers are toast.

And the rest is history....

LOL....when I wrote mine up a couple of pages ago, I thought it was going to be hard.  You want me to remember how I felt 2 years ago?  But then I sat back and thought about the point in time where I got handed the last 3 dossiers and I was shocked to find out I could remember clearly.  Every thought feeling, wise comment, swearing, moment of awe, deep love or lust came flooding back and then it hit me, I can remember it because it NEVER gets old.  That moment when it's time for Thane always feels like the first time all over again.  Visual presentation:

I just wondered today what Thane did to meet Irikah, after seeing her during this assaciantion where she protected his target. He tells Shep, he was obsessed by the memory and must meet her again. Any ideas?

He says to Shep that he "fell to his knees before her and begged her forgiveness".  So I'm guessing he ran after her?  Or she was still around after scolding him through the scope?

I guess that is what fan fic is for, it's a shame there wasn't a option to find out.  So many lost opportunities and that should have been done early on.  But then again, I am torn by when it should really be brought up.  If it appeared he was stalkerish, like watching her movements and her routines just because he liked her and if he did it for a long period of time, I can guarantee you ALL of my Shep's would have bolted and stayed away from him.  Maybe I'm better not really knowing and figuring he just asked around, maybe intented to approach her a few times but chickened out and finally did walk up to her.  Yeah, I'm going to go with the latter just because it seems to fit him.  He seemed taken off guard, nervous, a bit flustered, and well, just so darn cute to the point of first crush kinda cute when he said, "I've never felt affection for another species, I'm not sure what to do."

@myth - I am not sure I would add anything different from what has already been well said, on the first meeting of Thane. I was very intrigued with the Salarians we kept finding, and the first time I heard the noise above me, and a body dropped behind me (dead merc), I was kind of "giddy"......that little kid in me was like, "*Snort*.....that was so cool. <goofy grin>". Even my husband was intrigued. And as soon as he came out of the ceiling...<bonk!> My husband looked over at me and said..."Yup. She's gone." Too right!! What, Kepral's? Never heard of it....doesn't exist. (heh, just kidding). Actually I did "sink" a bit when I heard the "I'm dying.." bit. But, when we got back to the Normandy and I started asking him questions, I really did think this would be resolved, or left open enough for us to play out our own thoughts as to what would happen. (hmmmm....did that even make sense.....aw well.)

I should note that as soon as I saw the Dossier and read "Assassin", I KNEW that would be my very next stop. Images of Zev were coming to my mind (I came in to the ME series late, after all.).

I mean, for so much of that scene, it's like, what's the bloody point of it? To show that Shepard is an idiot by forgetting? What's the point of even letting Shepard offer to go get Drell blood?

I am sure he did not stalk on Irikah and I am also convinced he felt very unsure about how he should behave since it would have been no part of his training by the Hanar and he has to find out what to do on his own. Unfortunately Thane could not ask a friend about dating girls I guess.:o Maybe the extranet gave him some hints?

Since he said  that the memory "endowed and possessed him" I actually thought that utilising his skills in observation as an assassin would be fitting when he tried to find her again. And then going "No I can't do it this way" and then use more conventional methods of reaching out to her.

I'm not the brightest person but I knew who was sending it before I got to the end anyway.  Maybe some wouldn't know so they had to put his name at the end but I figured the whole point of an alias was to NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME AT ALL!!!!  So, ok, Tannor that's your name now...get to the end and derp....Thane.  <_<  Then I figured  Shepard, or Kolyat must have missed the alias thing.  Did Kolyat have an alias?  If not, at some point the doctor had to be aware of his name.  If so, once Shepard said, "Krios" something should have clicked, in which case the doctor is a moron.  But I'm going to try to excuse Shepard in this one instance because she isn't thinking.  Well, she hasn't been thinking clearly at all in anything relating to Thane up until this point, so why start now.  Stupidity excused.  It will be reinstated later, don't worry.  Ok, so Shep gets in the room and Kolyat introduces himself as such.  At this point, either I'm right and Kolyat never had an alias or he just swallowed the same pill as Shep outside the door.  Then I remember he just wanted to know if I remember him. Ok, confirmation that someone, somewhere in their infinite wisdom wrote this whole scene blind, drunk, and with half of their brain missing.

Finally I come to the realization that none of that mattered when it came to the death scene because he was going to die and names are irrelevant at this point.

Grrr fighting against a bunch of peeps in the Storyline forum about Jacob. Why is it okay to dismiss him just 'cause you don't like him? Seriously, the hypocrisy pisses me off.
