Epantiras has great artwork!

And yeah, I'm not expecting anything major for Thane to be revealed until right before March 6th. Maybe some little hints, tidbits and inklings until then.

I think that the squaddies that have been revealed were all expected to have returned anyway, whereas the other characters have all been up in the air in regards to returning on the team for any length of time.

I agree. The characters who haven't been confirmed as "recruitable" have questionable loyalty towards Shepard.

I wonder what Thane's role will be in ME3...

Edit:  I've seen that piece before.  I don't recall the artist's name right now but (she's?) very good as well. :)

OMG-what a time for my BSN account to crash again!! Thanks to Tasha for her support and clarifcation...I soooo DO NOT WANT THANE DEAD, I want him by my side in ME3 (where he belongs) while my ass is on trial and I have a crazed Cerberus killer after me!!!. I need him to "have my back" (not gonna mention what we can do while I'm on said back, LOL) Thx to others also for your feedback, knowledge and insight (51ha, wildannie, etc). If BW would support Thane back in ME3 at only 1/2 the support we fans have shown, in this thread alone, then it would have already been announced that he was back!!!!

I was only trying to clarify that Kepral's cannot be compared to CF (I don't effing care what BW staff person said, I work with CF every day). CF is an inherited lung disease, children show symptoms at early age, are usually debilitated by their teen years (meaning can't be employed, can't live what we call "regular lives"), and are hospitalized quite frequently, cause of infections or thick mucus that requires intensive suctioning or lung lavage. They also require clearing of thick mucous plugs multiple times a day, by "hands on" or other mechanical devices (sometimes as often as hourly). Medications include:antibiotics, inhalers and mucus thinning medications. These are not medications FOR CF, there is no cure and no medication for CF, these are to treat the effects of CF on lung tissue. If CF has "metastasized" (spread), to the digestive tract, or reproductive areas, then the medication list is even longer. Thane does say that Kepral's was a consequence from the wet climate on Hanar homeworld, so not inheritable. The longer Drell spend on Hanar homeworld, even with protective gear/medications, the shorter their life expectancy.

In 14 years as a practitioner, I have never seen a CF patient with the lung function or capability to to do anything "athletic", they cannot play intensive sports, run track, enter marathons, bike race, etc.....let alone be an assassin. No way they could run, flip, shoot, neck snap, run some more to cover, shoot and neck snap again............My intent was to clarify that.

I want Thane in ME3 and am willing to accept just about any lame poor writing excuse, like nanotech, wonder medigel, Prothean cure, hell, a magic elixir..To me that is more acceptable than, "somewhere in the galaxy doing his own thing", or slowly wasting away, suffering, inactive and written out.........I want BW to do Thane justice as the character they made him, the LI role they chose to write for him and the recognition he got because of that.
I'm just saying - "It is difficult, all things worth keeping are", and Thane is a keeper. So, step up to the plate BW.................

 @Hedgepath  yup, a cure is a must! :D
I think that Patrick Weekes was just trying to raise awareness of CF as he has a friend who suffers from it but I can see why it's a bit annoying to those more familiar with it's causes and treatments to see this comparison.  However, I have to confess it was a comparison that had crossed my mind.  I didn't think it was the same, but it's description just put me in mind of CF.
I'm not disputing for one minute that you are right about the differences, just saying that for those without any in depth knowledge (people like me)  it's comparison is more understandable (even though completely wrong:pinched:) .

I would love some information on Thane. Even just a little information would be fine.

I hope they haven't forgotten about us.

That's the hard part is those who are not knowledgeable about the medical field immediately jumped on the CF bandwagon and it doesn't make much sense if you really look at it from a scientific standpoint. So those who stand up and say, "Hey this doesn't make much sense." are immediately shot down as Weekes was the one who brought it up thus, his word is literally gold.

GLOMP Cia!

Totally agree with everything you put! And you are the biology pro, I am pretty clueless on medical practices, so I will take your word for it!

Love that motiv Gnas, and I love how the femshep in that pencil drawing looks. She has a more 'mature' look to her than the in game Shepard. But still beautiful.

Thanks Plakto! I will add a fanfic section to the OP once I get home from work. Can't do much from my phone. I imagine more fanfics will be written when ME3 comes out though. Because I haven't seen many Thane ones (that aren't just single chapters anyway.) And I have finished reading 'The thirty six strategems of whang jhzie.' Really loved it! And a more realistic approach to the reaper threat as well.

If anyone is interested, I have written some Thane fanfiction. It's linked in my signature. I'm slowly working on the last chapter of Breaking the Ice (it's nearly finished). I'm also planning to do a series of fics that develop the relationship between Thane and my Shep, some about just Thane himself and so on.

My writing isn't amazing, but I do my best.

Aislinn I look forward to reading the rest of your story.

Added the Thane fanfics to the OP. Need to fix a couple of links though. So, I thought of another question today (and this one isn't rude! ;p) Thane has biotics, do you think that Kolyat may be a biotic too? Or at least have dormant biotic abilities?

@Tasha Are biotic abilities genetic for Drell? I think if it is genetic then Kolyat could have inherited the ability.

If it is genetic than I guess he could be, but I really doubt Kolyat is a biotic. He didn't appear to have any biotic abilities. Not enough is known about biotics among the Drell, but if they get it the same way humans do then Kolyat probably doesn't have it. I didn't really think biotics could be inherited. Only the asari seem to be born with the ability naturally. It seems like every other species with biotics has to be exposed to element zero.

I'm assuming drell biotics are a rarity, and fairly recent. Judging from Thane's description of Rahkana, drell technology wasn't very advanced in comparison to the rest of the galaxy. It's likely he was exposed to element zero in the womb. I also like to think that his biotics (or possible biotics if they manifest at puberty like humans, whenever puberty is for drell XD) is one of the main reasons he was chosen to become an assassin for the Hanar.

Nice wallpapers 5iha!

On the biotics, I guess that he's acquired these powers rather than been born with them.
