Javik:  So, Drell, I saw this game they call Mass Effect 3.
Thane:  I do not wish to speak of that.
Javik:  Why not drell, it was wonderfully done.
Thane:  I know where this is going.
Javik:  They captured me quite well, don't you think?
Thane:  I can't argue that.  Right down to every annoying detail.
Javik:  I will ignore your contempt for now, green one.  I lived.
Thane:  Not in mine.
Javik:  How is that so?
Thane:  I made you use the memory shard and you committed suicide.
Javik:  Drell, that is not funny.  Unlike your epic fight with Kai Leng.
Thane:  You liked that a lot, didn't you?
Javik:  Yes I did.  Too bad that didn't really happen.  You would still lose.
Thane:  You think so?
Javik:  Too late to find out now, the Commander finished him off.
Thane:  Yes she did.
Javik:  How does that make you feel, Drell? Knowing she could do what you could not?  Did it wound your pride?
Thane:  I wasn't even there.  I am proud of her.  As I always am.
Javik:  Yes, you were not there.  What were you doing?  Oh yes, your little drell boo boo's were healing.  I heard you cried.
Thane:  Javik, I grow tired of your mockery.
Javik:  Did the Commander kiss your little stitches and make them better?
Thane:  Enough Javik.
Javik:  She's fat.
Thane:  Javik, I insist you stop.
Javik:  Too bad the Commander didn't say that or she would not be carrying mutant drell.
Thane:  Why are you still here?  We defeated the reapers and now are stuck on galactic wide clean up duty.
Javik:   I am here because the Commander still needs some people to fight in case we run into mercenaries.  You know this.
Thane:  But why you?  Some of the others are still here.
Javik:  I have nothing else better to do.
Thane:  Except constantly insult me.
Javik:  Besides she can't really fight anymore.  She literally rolls into cover now.
Thane:  Javik, stop right now.  I told you dozens of times, insult me if you must but leave her alone.
Javik:  Have you stopped having sex?
Thane:  I'm not answering that.
Javik:  Can't imagine you could with her being that fat.
Thane:  Javik!  Enough!
Javik:  Oh I see.  You must have to bend her over and go from behind.
Thane:  Oh by the Gods!
Javik:  Do you like it that way, drell?
Thane:  (silence)
Javik:  I see you are not talking now.  You must like it then?  Must be quite a view considering her size.
Thane:  Her ass has not gotten fat.  Why did I just answer you...I will regret this.
Javik:  So, you like it that way now because she still looks the same from behind.  You are a very selfish and shallow drell.
Hope:  Thane?  What is he talking about?  :crying:
Thane:  It's not what you think.
Javik:  It's exactly what you think (walks away laughing)

@utaker That seriously made me smile. The adventures of Tink and Thane. What will happen next? Also, Javik's reaction to KL made me laugh (Apparently your species still has it's primitives). I am gratified by anything that mocks Kai Leng. Going OT but:

@Laser-eyes I wish that glitch would happen to me. Isn't there another one in which Thane is standing on the bed? I've seen screencaps of that floating around the web...

Your screencap also makes me remember how much nicer Shepard's cabin looked in ME2. The Alliance uglified the Normandy and made everything dreary. :(

:D  I laughed so hard when I saw this.  I'm a boy...a man.  Bah ha ha!

Weird glitch....Garrus's Loyalty Mission.... Garrus's face is priceless...

His legs are actually outstretched, I didn't manage to catch the outstretched legs, I was laughing too hard when I saw it.  If I can recreate it, I will but if you look from the front.....he's got a handful of... :o

Hey now no second page for Thane!!

ans about the funny dialog  between Jaavik and Thane,  I think  Thane would  have just gone stealth on Jaavik when too  annoyed   with his  teases ^^. And study him in the shadows to see how to adapt his neck snapping  technics to protheans.Posted Image

Hello everyone!

I haven't posted here before and hope this doesn't seem invasive, but I have a request. Previously I'd only played the Mass Effect trilogy on Xbox but now have the opportunity to play ME3 on the PC, which I thought I'd do if only casually to witness some textmods and so on, but after searching here: MassEffect2Saves. I was unsuccessful in finding a Renegade FemShep who romanced Thane, did not heal their scars and kept the genophage data, which is something I'd like to have. Also, if you played Overlord, a plus would be having saved David, but is not as important to me. I was hoping someone from this friendly thread might have such a savefile and might be willing to share it through that site or just with me? Maybe?

If you have conditions for sharing I will admit to having not taken part in any of the For An Option campaigns. I am intimidated by everyone's determination and would love an option, but have no idea in what way I could contribute.

 hello Mademon,

I'm on xbox so can't help,  I hope that someone can though.  Glad to have your support for an option I still can hardly believe there wasn't one. I must have completely misinterpreted what Mass Effect was all about... or maybe they just changed the rules<_<

No problem wildannie. :)
I'm hopeful.

I will admit that I wasn't expecting a cure, but really thought Thane would survive until the end of the trilogy, if only under certain conditions. A treatment or simply his health holding out and his cameo being more along the lines of Jack or Miranda would have felt more true to the progression of his romance at least, where he is no longer at peace with passing quietly. Keeping Kolyat out of prison so that his relationship with his father was not so strained, or getting him stuck in prison so that he is at hand could have been fine conditions for drell blood to be readily available to prolong Thane's life.

Yeah I wasn't necessarily expecting a cure, I was expecting a chance to prolong his life beyond the end of the game. They reduced his role to practically nothing... very sad.

While I agree his role was less than satisfactory, it definately wasn't nothing. When my husband was replaying ME2 when I had already beaten ME3 he asked if he should bother doing Thane, Jacob and a third character's loyalty missions. I said that I could not picture ME3 without Thane, and after he played past the coup, he fully agreed with me ... and I'll mention that he sent Jacob through the ventilation shafts ... Thane's role may have even been satisfactory, though not amazing, if the hospital kiss had been better animated, if anyone had spoken to Shepard about Thane prior to his death, and if you had been able to have a conversation with Kolyat later in the game. I also would have liked, but not expected, an option to hug Kolyat during the death scene (for Shepard's benefit, and not Kolyat's however, as that may have been inappropriate, since she barely knows him or drell custom).

As far as anyone speaking to Shepard about Thane's death goes, people have complained that after Tuchunka Shepard is thinking about the VS immediate after Mordin's passing (unless your love interest died in the Suicide Mission of ME2) and I feel that this scene could have been postponed until after the coup, and there could have been a flag for Shepard to be remiss about Thane had she romanced him so that she and Liara could at least have had that.

@Mademon - Please feel free to drop in anytime....and I certainly won't complain about any Thane art you wish to post.....Gorgeous!

Would be more than willing to help out with saves, but unfortunately, like Annie, I play this game on the xBox as well. Good luck though! :)

I hope that one wasn't too racy, but there's no gratuitous nudity.

Also, I'm sure anything I post here has probably been posted here at least once over the 450 pages but ... I don't know. At least I'm not off topic?

@Mademon - Haha....nope, not "off topic" (we discuss much on Drell anatomy......some of us are admittedly dirty old birdies.) I personally had not seen the first pic you posted, but I am good with all of it.

BTW, if you haven't tried it alread, you might also go into the FemShep Thread. A lot of them have a vast variety of f!Sheps, and some may be willing to share saves with you. Plus, if you have any mod questions, they are usually a good bunch to query for help.

=O That is a good idea. I might do that a little later on ... but I'd rather see what stirs up here first, and the last time I posted there my comment just sort of got lost.

Discussing the anatomy of any of the Mass Effect aliens can be interesting, fun and in some cases alluring. I know how that goes.

This is actually one of my favorite pieces of Thane art, as silly as that may be. I like his confused expression. On the topic of Drell anatomy, I've wondered how similar they are to reptiles in relation to their insides compared to their appearance. I'm sure some Codex entry somewhere states the maintained temperature for space faring ships, but I wonder how cold or heat affect all the species on the ship. It seems unusual what we know of Turians, Quarians and Drell that they would be accustomed to the same room temperature as Volus, Hanar and Humans.

Similarly, do we know if Drell sweat? Or have tear ducts? I only mention the latter because I would guess that Drell do and Turians do not.

Anywho, sorry about rambling, I'm headed away from the PC for a bit. I'll be back though, and am greatly thankful for the reception and friendliness you shared with me in this thread.

Determination is great but support is even better.  If all you have are words of support, then that is great.  I have no real talent except for being overly opinionated, a big mouth, and a morbid sense of humor.  Real morbid.

How Renegade do you need that FemShep?  All my FemShep's romanced Thane.  But I have a couple that went above and beyond douchebaggery.  Yes, people Malificent is not my only evil space witch.  It would take a couple of days to do unless someone else has one available now.  Or maybe a day, I'd have to go back and look at all their choices.  Or you can go take one save file you do have and Mod the crap out of it with Gibbed Save Editor.  I believe it will let you put your scars back on.  I don't know about Gibbed's for ME3 in regards to scars but I do know you can decide on the genophage data and David.  Then there is another option, if you have a Shep you really love the face on but just want scars and plot points changed or added and you do not trust yourself with Gibbed Save Editor then it can be passed on to someone to do it for you.

Many variables.  Yes many variables to consider....

Truth be told, I have not played ME1 nearly as much as I have ME2..the Mako and Combat make me cry.  It doesn't have Thane, my FemShep's always look butt ugly and since I already know that Thane is out there waiting for my Shep to find him, the game is just painful for me.  Makes it hard to try and romance Kaidan (or shiver...Liara) when I know what I am going to have later on.  So, I tend to Gib the heck out of a ME2 save file to make it think I actually played ME1.

Drells definately have tear ducts; it is mentioned in the Codex, and more importantly, we see it in the final romance scene between Shepard and Thane in ME2.

@utaker - had a feeling you would be the best person to help her out on the "save" thing.  And.....yes, you are are morbid and dirty, but in such a good way!Posted Image

Hey, Gibbed's is a gift to a lazy person. I danced when I first found it, finally no more painful ME1 playthroughs. Genesis is great but it doesn't have almost all the choices. Through it all, Thane never died. I made sure of it. Then ME3 comes along and they make him die. So much for that super plot armor I always put on him. Booooo Hissssssss...... He had underwear that was more bullet proof than Superman and Batman combined. That MUST be it...he went commando in ME3. Drooooool.... too bad it had it's consequences. I will be over here ----->

Making Thane put back on his bullet proof underpants.

I also won't mention he was forced to go commando because I ate his shorts.

Well, Rog and I opted out of the Pug Crawl today; it is pouring! Soooo, time to fire up a game; have two Sheps sitting in ME1, two in ME2, three wardens in DAO, and one Hawke in DA2 (just finished a f!Hawke DW rogue the other night). Can't make up my mind. I wish my DA's were working on my PC so I could do a quick run on DAO. And I have decided that as soon as I get my new Desktop, I am going to pick up ME2. I believe I will be using this touted Gibb Editor you speak of Shell and Utaker. :D

*EDIT*
@mnomaha - Morning!

So err..quickly dropping in for some creative input regarding a little project I'm currently working on,

Basically the piece will figure Thane & another squadmate aiming their weapons at a target situated about 4 meters away. The other squadmate will be wielding a Heavy Pistol.

Now my question is should Thane be using an SMG or a sniper-rifle?
Tactically an SMG is more suitable, but at the same time the idea of Thane with a Widow is almost too tempting to pass up...

Oh, and the arsenal to choose a weapon from is Mass Effect 3's.
So which one should I use? Gah, decisions..decisions....

@Mademon

If my memory serves right, think drell are actually able to pump both cold and wet blood through their veins, and as such I don't think they sweat or get "colder" than humans.

As for quarians I imagine their suit regulates the temperature as does the volus, I think (but I can't remember atm) that the salarians are cold-blooded. Then there's the asari, I don't know if their body temperature is exactly the same as humans, it could be but I think the deciding factor is the habitable temperature on Thessia. Turians on the other hand...idk, but I think their body temperature would be higher than that of humans given that Palaven is warmer than Virmire. As for Hanar, I've got no clue at all.

As for tears...as coldi mentioned: Yep drell have them. Besides Thane demonstrating this, so does Kolyat in Thane's loyalty mission.

@mnomaha

Good morning! (It's 9 p.m. over here in Sweden)

hey guys^^ just want to say that I'm working on a scientific essay for squeegees project which i would like to send along to bioware with the poster. As i mentioned few times before I'm a biology student and always interested in medicine and gentic so i've spent some time of doing research, thinking about his situation and the possibilities of medicine and i came to the conclusion that even with "just" kolyat Thane could have been saved quiet easy even with kepral and i try to explain it in a letter.
it is nearly finished and I'm gonna post it within her group. So you can read it and may also input your own ideas ^^

@Coldi..."quick" DA:O runthrough? I didn't know there was such a thing. I've just discovered the joy (and camera frustration) of NWN. Rather fun even though I keep running into stuff.

@Emerald...even though Thane and his Widow is tempting...the SMG does make more sense.

Yeah I'd go with a SMG at only 4 meters. You want something that cannot be resisted....give Thane the M-920 Cain. There is nothing greater than Thane letting off an explosion of that magnitude. Hold it, hold it, release the trigger....it's gonna blow!!!!!! (Insert any dirty or perverted thought in there as you see fit). Just don't do it on Normal difficulty in a small room. The dang thing backfired on me once and CMF....LOL. I killed myself.

Hmm it's funny, literally within 30 min after I posted I come up with another idea to partially solve my dilemma

(Thane + Widow will be featured in another pic)

So...SMG then.. which one? I'm thinking Locust since the other alternatives don't tickle my fancy as much but idk...hence input is welcome!

a) M-4 Shuriken (I know this is the "default" SMG and that the Thane figure is shipped with one but..I always thought it sucked royally in gameplay)

B) M-9 Tempest (A good SMG, and Shield killer no 1 for Infiltrators)

c) M-12 Locust (Good at semi-long long range, and yep it packs quite a punch. Favored by assassins and hitmen according to the codex)

d) M-25 Hornet (A Cerberus SMG. Gives me chills since it's obtained in the Citadel coup. Long-range)

e) N-7 Hurricane (A close-range SMG, absolutely useless in most situations imo)

(I didn't include the Geth Plasma SMG since it's MP only)

@utaker1988

Oh god, the M-920 Cain...

Since my Thanemancer was played on Insanity, I barely dared to use it all (The CMF rate was high even without a mini nuke) + Add that relying on heavy weapons during common enemies can be the difference between sucess and CMF on Insanity.

(But I'll insert those dirty thoughts as I see fit hehe! <ridges> )

I do not use the Shuriken because it is crap. I will either use the Tempest or Locust. I cannot comment on the Hornet or Hurricane as I've never used either of them. I am a creature of habit. Once I find something I like (ridges) I rarely ever stray.

@Emerald - I have to say, I am particular to the Locust. It is what I always gave Thane to use (after all, he is an assassin). :D But just my .02.....others would work/look good as well (admit I have no idea what some of those look like.)

@mnomaha - Well, "quick" run through might not be the best choice of word....HA! But, I have learned of a few mods that can move things along a bit faster. Besides not really being able to skip anything (hello the bane called the Fade) on the xbox version, I admit I'm a bit of a completionist. I have learned after 5 full playthroughs and numerous partial play throughs, to FINALLY stop trying to do ever stinkin' side quest and loot every last nook and cranny. But, I still get slowed down with just building the characters, trying to find the best combo of weapons/armor/accessories, and completing every available convo. For some reason I suspect I will be able to forgo some of this on the PC; partly due to mods, and partly because all my main play throughs for both DAO/Awakenings and DA2 are on the xBox. Course, that could change once I get in to it....HA! (BTW, let me know how NWN goes.....)

@Moira - Looking forward to your "read". Sounds very interesting. :)
