I really think that some of them just don't care much about the game at all. Just a job to them.

I can't believe someone described Thane's death as intimate and thoughtful.
Is she on drugs. Shepard standing there like an emotionless statue was her idea of intimante, and there was nothing thoughtful or moving about that scene.

It was emotionless, cold and depressing.

The only thing moving during that scene was the contents of my stomach...up the esphogus and out my mouth.

And for the Chinese Zodiac things, I have studied those before along with western zodiac.  I find it very telling in my western one....Scorpio..The Scorpion.

Scorpio is the most sexually charged of all zodiac signs. Sex with Scorpio is a total emotional and physical experience with passion and intensity. They have amazing stamina and can last all night long, round after round. Scorpio is the zodiac sign that is the most likely to act out a sexual fantasy. Most people will talk about it but the Scorpio will do it, they will fully throw themselves into the role. Do not suggest a fantasy to a Scorpio unless you plan to do it! Most Scorpios are direct and forceful and they seem to be an expert at what they do. They continue to seduce you even as the act continues. A thrilling experience not for the faint of heart!

There you go...I was born this way...not my fault at all  Also says, I'm controlling, mysterious, perceptive, and can sense b.s. a mile away.  Also I need to know it all, full of questions, can't stand weakness, have a fascination with the odd, morbid, occult, and my sense of humor tends to be a bit racy and dark.  Imagine that....

Yeah I'd definitely enjoy his entrance....and some rubbing off... :o

Does Gears come in here?  I'm afraid to use the words rubbing and off, not after he said that about sticky blue dolls yesterday.  He will never live that one down.

You know..I would like to see an option to Save Thane and option to get rid of Liara. In all fairness..for the rest of the LI's kaidan/ashley=killable ..all your LI's from ME2 can die everyone can go except Liara..I think it would be fair if she had a suicide option after Thessia..ooption to save her or let her do it if your stuff isn't high enough. That would make the game more interesting and that would cut down on the writers pet thing too.=]

now i'm going to get lynched by the liara people
*ducks incoming attack..and drinks some more*

but really that would end some of the favoritism

I think all you need to do for the ME3 editor is set the flags to loyal and it will read it as such. I don't know if there are any set flags that specifically state if you helped him with Kolyat or not. My guess is no, I never noticed it in the coalesced file for ME3, only thing I saw was if Thane was alive/dead, loyal/unloyal, romanced/unromanced.

I'm going to drop this right here.... http://www.holdtheli...on-theory.1909/

What kind of game is this?  Really.  I know BW has been very noncommittal at times about this theory and a few other times yelling "artisitc integrity" when they say the ending is staying.  But for this person, to put this up there as a question for those who believe this theory and then they don't incorporate it, it is going to cause rage again.

I think you really need to read this, oh god after this was put up and it never comes to be, the IT people are going to fling some serious sh*t.

Even Shepard can die, but not Liara. It would only be fair if she didn't have her plot armor, but Bioware would never do that. Liara is their baby.

My eyes just crossed in confusion.....did I read correctly; Priestly posted that poll?  Why do I feel like everyone is getting trolled............hey Jenlock, got some more of whatever your drinking?? My first thought was troll too but I couldn't find anyone who said it wasn't him. In all honesty, I laughed when I saw that. I went from...no, that's not really Chris. Then...what if it is and...oh god the impending storm if they don't use IT now. What someone needs to do from BW is come in here and ask if Thane should be saved. Ask us...his fans, not the ones who liked to impale him on the Normandy or send him through the vents, or recruited him and then never talked to him. Ask the ones who loved the Thane we got in ME2...romancers, friendzoners, bromancers, etc. There are more of us out there, I've seen plenty who have posted in those "What ME2 squadmates would you have liked with you in ME3" threads that keep popping up. Thane's on there quite a bit and not just from us.

*passes bottle of SoCo to Coldi*

They did bring up IT at that PAX panel and purposely chose not to say one way or the other if they were going to use it. Those stinkers..this just makes you rage again how they gave us an incomplete crazy game..

jBut I agree there's going to be a terrible uproar after him posting that poll if they don't go with it.

If I had a company I would want my consumers to be happy..not crazy with rage:devil: or sadness :crying:

(do they move those smiley faces around? I swear they're never in the same spot)

Do we know at least who wrote him (in ME3)? I mean no need to flame this guy at all (erm wait a moment......... perhaps I could think of one reason xD) but it would be great to be able to address someone who really is responsible now. Well ok I really imagine it will be hard for him/her to step in here and say: I was that guy you should blame xD No seriously, who told us at the beginning that they forgot about Thane in the writing process? Wasn't it Patrick Weekes?

Thanks Cosmo <3 I really hope the internet will work again soon for Myth. Because I really get the intention that she is getting crazy at the moment xD I reall imagine her running through her living room. shouting: sooooo much work I need to do this and that and Dani still didn't send me everything for proofreading and I have no time anymore and.....xD Yeah that really could be xD

And naturally, he didn't respond to the tweet I sent him. Not that I thought he would.

Bolded, because you have no idea how right you are.....

Hang in there myth...we need that editing brain in full force!

I also had to do a double take to see if it was Chris - WTF? I seriously doubt he's posting on HTL site to see how people feel about it. Someone trolling? PLEASE let it be someone trolling....the IT helps things a little, but only if they follow up with legendary DLC that includes THANE! #SaveThane!

@Cosmo - Yes!! Make it so, if it gives us an option to save Thane! :)

Hi, forgive my intrusion but I'm guessing some/a lot of you here are part of the #SaveThane initiative. I stumbled across this article
(which I'm sure you've already read) and I figured that, since she was a
fan, you could reach out to her for support, or at least coverage. I
noticed she's on Twitter, so that makes things a little easier in some
regards.

Sorry if you're all fully aware of, and have tried this, just thought I'd try and help after seeing it.

You're not intruding at all. Thank you for the suggestion!

They won't see it because it wasn't the plan for him. And the hammer crushes down on me.

And your reaction was exactly why I didn't want to post this here. But I guess I couldn't really stop it from getting around posting it on tumblr. Oh well.

Looking at Weekes comments makes me feel so frustrated. He's one of my favorites and I can see his side of things, but he's missing the point. In my opinion, they have every right to not cure him, however, they instead only focused on making him die which is just sick and twisted when you really think about it.  As my little picture above indicates and what I've said a thousand times, his existence should been more than a death scene. Yeah I've said in the past if he had to die, I wanted to see him go out saving someone's life. But I also said I didn't want to see him in the hospital first thing, never putting up a fight at all. I didn't expect to have one conversation and next time I see him I watch him die. It wasn't bittersweet, it was just bitter and bad story telling.

If you created a character only for killing them off, you've made a worthless NPC, a plot tool. You don't build them up for family, friends, potentially a romance, and involment with the major plot. You don't do that to red shirts. In ME2 they created a wonderful little plot around him, his loyalty mission didn't even need a lot of fighting and people loved him for the story. If they wanted him in a hospital so bad, why not just have a lot of story side stuff involving him? Why does his son suddenly change? Just accepts everything. What made him want to submit himself to a hospital when he seemed so stubborn about it before? What the crap is going on his in life besides dying? We already knew that!

He has no god damn story in ME3 at all. The only reason they brought him back is for shock value, to emotionally engage the player. Like so many other things in the story, there is little real logic behind it. They just wanted to have everyone watch someone die.

I want to frame that picture and send it to BioWare and frame another for my wall while I'm at it. You hit the nail on the head about what we've all been saying since ME3 was released.  There is no narrative coherency to Thane's character or story in ME3 and how you summed it up in the picture perfectly encapsulates why. He goes from fearing his death, wanting to live and looking forward to the new memories he will make to someone content to die, someone who has nothing to say unless it involves his death and nothing to do unless it involves sitting by the hospital window or getting skewered on Kai Leng's sword.

Do none of the writers see the lack of coherence?  Or are they just content to turn a blind eye to the fact that they ignored his character development in the previous game and subsequently rendered all previous interaction meaningless? Since it doesn't matter how you interacted with him previously. In ME3 he ends up with the same mindset/outlook no matter what and the outcome is always the same as well.

It's just sad to me. I think whether people romanced him or not, shouldn't he have meant more than that? The character was more than just a death scene waiting to happen for me.

Okay, call me dense if you will, but can someone please explain to me how "Genophage and Rannoch were foreshadowed forever." I would love to know what I missed...

Neither one were "foreshadowed forever".  The only thing they have over Thane is content.  We are introduced to the Quarians in ME1, and we learn about how they built the Geth and lost their homeworld.  However; nothing in ME1 really screamed: "Quarians will live outside of their Envirosuits within three years of meeting Tali."  I don't have a problem with it happening, but ME1 doesn't give us much to go on.  So now we move on to ME2.  This is (IIRC) the first time we start learning more about the envirosuits and why it is important for the Quarians to get back their homeworld (60 years vs centuries on a foreign colony).  So what does Tali's plight have over Thanes?  Simple: back story from ME1.  Thats it.

Now for the Genophage.  I will accept that this one is a bit more foreshadowed because we do have Virmire as a reference.  But, that was cloning in the hopes of weeding out the Genophage in cloned Krogan (again IIRC).  It isn't until ME2 that we actually see content relating to the "curing" directly of the Genophage (Maelon's work).  So again, what does the Genophage have over Thane and Keprals?  More backstory in ME1.

To say that the Genophage and Quarian's plight have more foreshadowing, isn't exactly balanced.  Since the Drell are not even introduced to us as a species until ME2, it is rediculous to conclude that the Krogans and Quarians were meant to be saved/changed/whatever simply because they were given prior background in the first game.  They wanted the story to play out that way when they wrote me3, and that is fine.  But since it IS a work of fiction, they most certainly could have used....hell......ANYTHING to save/extend Thane's life.  (including what they did give us in game)  They chose not to.
