@coldwetn0se (awesome name!)

So again, when ea/bw talk about grabbing new players to the franchise, they again were strictly catering to one group; men (and most likely younger men who play action games).

Yeah, they weren't catering to female gamers in this game. Else we would have had our LIs whether they were liked or not. And they definitely wouldn't have auto death or cheat on you. Notice how this only happens to femShep. Where's the equality and offering a similar game experience? In fact, we might have had more to lure new gamers in if all things were equal.

@emeraldfern: I know how you feel. I romance Garrus, but I don't feel happiness as I go through the game. I mean, I love the romance and it's lovely, but I'm feeling sad and feeling extremly lucky I chose the choice BW deemed to get more content than others.

It's hard enough to get through Thane's death when I know people chose him as an LI. I can barely get through Jacob's for the same reason.

We shouldn't be feeling this way. I should be excited to go on a Thane play through like you would have liked to do a Garrus play through.

@utaker: The Undertaker was my gateway drug into the world of wrestling 15 years ago. And I still watch.

It's funny, in my years of watching wrestling, I don't feel as put down as a female fan as compared to being a female gamer. Sure, wrestling has its rough spots when it comes to women, but they acknowledge they have different fans and they aren't just going for teenage boys.

As a female game, I get the feeling I should be getting one LI choice compared to the tons a male character gets. And that's only if my character isn't a lesbian. I have to deal with bikini armor and oversexed and sexualized female characters.

I've been gaming for over 20 years, starting with Mario on the NES. Why is it that everything else can change, but when it come to what female gamers want, it's either deal with it, have it wrapped up in glitter and pink, or just given a token effort.

This is why ME3 saddens me so much. I was really feeling like I mattered as a female fan and gamer in ME1 and ME2. Now it's obvious I do not.

@DineBoo I 100% agree with you including the Undertaker reference lol. I used to watch wrestling all the time when I was younger. I even named one of my cats Calaway, lol.

Really though, you hit the nail on the head. I too have been playing games since I was 3 or 4 and in ME1 & 2, I thought things were changing for female gamers. I felt like I could finally be considered an equal to the male gamers because BW did such a lovely job at evening out the content for male and femshep. She was treated the same, but for whatever horrible reason, this changed. It's so insulting to have them take a step back and then openly deny deny deny. We should be happy with what we got etc. Arrg!!! :crying:

Nothing says we appreciate our female fans like developing a male character specifically designed for them BUT let's have him dying. Then when they start loving him and asking for a cure or treatment, we'll say we are listening, hell we'll even promote it and for the finisher...we'll kill him off anyway. Thanks. I appreciate that. I like to know that you have just made me feel like I've been warped 100 years into the past. Jackholes.

Regardless, I will still fight for Thane. At first it was because I felt we should have gotten a choice but now it's that and I cannot sit by and watch them treat their female fans like this.

Bioware just likes to pretend they care, or that they are listening. They just lie.
If they never planned on keeping Thane around, or give him a decent romance conclusion in ME3 then why bother making him a romance option at all in ME2. I guess they thought we wouldn't care or just go back to the LI they think we should have.

One thing that really bothers me is that I know they would never ever do this to MShep. He can have every female in the galaxy. FemShep is the only one who has to suffer.

Hello mayrabgood, you've mananed to pick up a few others from other fanbases namely me and DineBoo our userpics are both of our main LI. However we like ya all and Thane too, and your so welcoming to new people in here we just stay.

Oh yes I come back now with another Liara excuse someone sent me defending her in a that stupid foot in their mouth way they so enjoy doing. Defending Liara against a rant I had about "all the stupid excuses are just BS, if BW wanted to make the game they said they would nothing would have stopped them"

I got a PM from someone on some forum that contained this this
"The time exuse is valid, BioWare had to do action mode and MP because EA made them. EA wanted to grab the FPS crowd and this took away from some of the RPG elements to make it work. It's not BioWares fault but EAs.The fact is this game needed a few more months of development so it wouldn't loose much.

Liara is not a writers pet and BioWare didn't decided to use their favorite LI and screw everyone else. They just did what was right when they chose what LI's arc was the priority. Because it's the most popular LI. Your just butthurt because you can't bang the asari Milf. Grow up dude and just be happy with the asari you can have."

Can I point out that I wouldn't call Samara an asari milf She'd likely slap someone for saying such a thing. Also this person went about making themself look like a total fool like they always do.
Grow up and be happy with Liara? No how about he grow up and open his eyse and start to understand and see that there Liara is clearly a writers pet and stop telling us that we should just be happy with Liara.

Also just because your a ball and wood baring person don't give you the right to be an @ss to all the female fans out there. Statements like the above seem to hint that some people don't give a crap about the female fan base, or even think that you exist.

NEWS Flash ****(s) Mass Effect has one of the largest female fanbases out there. Would you like it if say Kaidan was in Liara's spot and the ladies walked around telling you "that's what you get for picking the wrong LI". Or "You should just be happy and settle for Kaidan" Or "Stop b!tching, bend over and let Kaidan plow your @ss. Hell you wouldn't have to stop being a b!tch you just need to be Kaidan's b!tch"

Sorry about that all but it's rather sickening how so many Liara fans tell everyone to settle for Liara, and act like there isn't a single straight female fan out there.

Gears you seemed to be getting harrassed by all these immature Liara fans. Again that excuse that person gave is just stupid. If these people would stop and think for a second they would realize that these statments prove that she is Bioware's pet.

Bioware didn't do what was right. They did what they wanted, and didn't care about what other fans would think.I also wouldn't say Liara is the most popular LI. I thought that was Garrus or Tali, but I guess she Biowares most popular LI. That last statement about you being upset because you can't sleep with Samara sound like it was made by a 10 year old.

We shouldn't all have to settle for Liara. If that's what Bioware wants then they are all crazy.

One thing that really bothers me is that I know they would never ever do this to MShep. He can have every female in the galaxy. FemShep is the only one who has to suffer.

This. It would be one thing if maleShep had LIs taken away from him, but he doesn't. It's only femShep. You can't ignore that kind of discrepancy.

I'm sure more people would be in our corner if Miranda auto-died and Jack moved on with another biotic and got pregnant.

@gears: Seriously, I will never understand how one fanbase can tell another disadvantaged and crapped on fan base that they chose the wrong LI. That's akin to me telling everyone here "You didn't chose Garrus? Then you did it wrong."

And just because the blueberry was popular doesn't mean everyone else should have gotten cut content. BW knew what it was doing when it gave her all that content. They established her as the canon romance without naming her canon public. They then butcher femSheps straight choices to make it easier on themselves to write. Everyone is forced to chose her in order to experience the "best" romance ME had to offer. If you didn't like her, then you'd better hope you get lucky with the other choice they deemed worthy to get extra content.

And while I have issues with the concept of the asari, it's Liara I have mega problems with. Give me a chance with Samara, Aria, or Shiala and I might consider it. Liara? No way. Mostly out of protest.

@JECW, Gears and DineBoo *hugs*

Choices. The thing I absolutely loved and adored about BW games, from Neverwinter Nights onward.....And the fact that they actually knew that women played their games and included us.

And now it does't matter. Why? - Because - 'Because' why? -....Reasons, ie BS excuses a 10-year-old could see through.

Goddamn 'T'Soni Effect'. I DON'T WANT THE BLOODY BLUEBERRY - I NEVER WANTED HER!

Edit: Aha - I found the pic!

On the upside I take the fact that I'm getting a slew of PMs from Liara fans who don't like me fighting for Samara as a good sin they are sh!tting in their pants about people dumping the bipolar blue berry for Samara.

And yes it seems that some fans here don't even know that there is a huge female fanbase. When I was new here, the only video game forum I'd been to before was the gears of war forum. So I may have refered to some of you ladies as dude or bro (sorry) it didn't take long for me to realize that there is a huge number of female fans here.

Something BioWare/EA may want to remember/relearn when doing ME3 DLC and future games, though I'd bet that if they don't get it figured out with ME3 DLC there just won't be many games to come from BW anymore.

Also DineBoo I can't take credit for the blueberry thing I got it from this video here

Hitler his vids are so funny and the person who makes them actually listens to the fans

@DineBoo...Liara is the only Asari I have a problem with. Had bioware gone with the equality they promised, I would not have such a large problem with her. Do I hate her? Not really. Would I airlock her? In a second.

@Tash...OMG that picture is like....sh*t, IDK the best thing since chocolate. Wait, that's Thane...sliced bread. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

@gears...You know I just FLU man. Hell, I've proposed twice. LOL I think people are trolling on you because you just tell it how you see it. Honestly though, I don't think bioware gives a f*ck about us female gamers. I really don't. They probably figure they'll just lure in the newest wave of fanboys and be done with it. Wrong. I kind hope they don't figure it out until it's waaaaaay too late.

That pic is just perfect. I actually quite liked Liara in ME2 and LotSB: she had a backbone, and was no longer the child she was in ME1. She was a worthy, wonderful character and a moderately useful squaddie (Sentinel Shepards, didn't quite mesh with my playstyle). In ME3, she's back to being a child, and then they turn Shepard in to a bloody paedophile-like person by going after the one person who, in their society, is barely out of their teens, if even!

I'm convinced the only people who cared about their female fans were the ones who were forced out. If Thane's writer was still there, you can bet your arse the blue boobberry would not have gotten anywhere near the content she did, and we wouldn't have been forced on to the lesbo LIs or *shuddar* the whiney insecure biotic. You can also bet we would have gotten more of an equal treatment.

I had never, NEVER been ashamed of being a female gamer, until I loaded ME3. NEVER. Now, I wish Thane was real. Not for the ridges.... mmm... <ridges>.... but so i can put a hit on the bastards. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

The more I think about this the more I desire to give into my Viking tendencies and slaughter the lot of them. IE. It makes me very, very, angry and upset.

Granted, I'd never actually do it, but it's still a comforting fantasy, late at night when I'm crying myself to sleep.

Dammit.... I need a drink now.

Also, I'm probably going to be banned now for the assassination comment, so i'll see you on facebook.

Myth did you just call Kaidan the whiney insecure biotic? My god I haven't seen someone call him whiny in ages, I see people call him a pretty boy, and I've seen some fangirls squirting and fainting over him, I've see some fanboys squirting and fainting over him too. In fact I think I've seen more fanboys shooting off over Kaidan then fangirls.

But since ME3 and BW doing whatever they did to Kaidan and just making Ashley dull, I haven't seen many people calling Kaidan dull and/or whinny.

Kinda like Grunt pre-ME3 he was being called a sorry attempt at replacing Wrex, or a sad Wrex wannabe.

I had always been just indifferent to Grunt for the longest time I had issues with just 'why' Grunt was, then one day I figured it out, I can't understand it because Okeer was a complete nutcase and his reasoning made no sense at all, and Grunt was just as confused about what he was supposed to be as the players were with Okeer's mad logic.

@mnomaha, the Liara fans are trolling on me whenever a few Liara fans join the Samara group I get a sh!t ton of hate mail telling me to stop being mean to Liara, and to just be happy with the asari I can have. And they don't like me for speaking the truth and saying it like it is.

Someone should do a video mod of ME3 where Liara melds minds with a friend Shep on earth, and when she goes to do it have her eyes turn gold and Harbinger says "Assuming Control"

Agree and as for putting a hit on some of them (please some people do not get all paranoid we really wouldn't do that..there are some overly anal people out there) that reminds me of a dialogue I wrote awhile back and never posted on the thread. I didn't want anyone to take it wrong but now it is time. I realize that too many people take things too seriously and literally and f**k 'em if they can't take a joke.

Infiltration BioWare

Shep: We need to get there before Thane does.
Garrus: Yes, do we know where he is?
Shep: He turned off his communications, I have no idea.
Legion: We conclude he is most likely on the 14th floor.
Shep: Let's go. He's on a mission to retake his character.
Garrus: If he gets there before we do, it won't be good.
Shep: No, hurry people.
Legion: We are not people, we are Geth.
Shep: Figurative speech, Legion.
~~They get to the office of BioWare writers~~
Shep: Listen up people. I'm Commander Shepard and I'm here to save your asses.
EmployeeA: What? This is a joke, Commander Shepard? You are a character.
Garrus: This is what happens when you make your characters engaging and realistic.
EmployeeB: Is that a Geth? Oh s**t....
Legion: We are all Geth. We are Legion.
Shep: I need you all to move to the farthest corner.
EmployeeC: There are more of us than there are of you.
Shep: Ugh, there is someone here who may try to harm or kill you. I need you to do as I say.
EmployeeD: Someone is here to kill us? Why?
Garrus: Apparently he didn't like what you did with his character.
EmployeeA: (reaches for the phone) We have been infiltrated!!!
Legion: Geth do not infiltrate.
Shep: Put the phone down, now!
EmployeeA: Uh, ok, put your weapons down.
EmployeeB: Did you hear that?
Shep: Looks up and sees Thane drop from the vent shaft.
Garrus: It never gets old, it's still the best entrance ever.
Legion: Shepard-Commander has a small amount of liquid substance coming from her mouth.
Garrus: Not again, she drooled the last time.
~~Thane moves around the room~~
Thane: Who exactly wrote this piece of sh*t that is referred to as my character in ME3?
EmployeeB: Don't look at me, I had Jack.
Thane: Jack, huh? Move over to the left.
EmployeeC: I was in charge of Jacob.
Thane: To the left. This will take too long, whomever wrote for Miranda, Samara, Joker, and Thane get to the left. The rest of you may go.
Shep: Uh, Thane could you get the Kelly writer too?
Thane: Anything for you Siha. Kelly writer, you stay too.
Garrus: We could be here for a long time.
Legion: We estimate one week, 3 days, 11 hours, 24 minutes, and 34.77778 seconds to fix these critical errors.
Shep: Is this necessary Thane? It is just a game.
Thane: Yes, I deserved more than this, we deserved more than this. Most importantly our fans deserved more than this.
Shep: Very well, I'll be over here.
Thane: (gives orders to the writers on how to fix the ME2 crew) And if this is not satisfactory, I will have to resort to another method.
Employees: Wha...what method is that?
Thane: Don't fret, I will give you a choice. Gun shot, bomb, or neck snap.
EmployeeA: That is crazy, you are only giving us 3 options and they all result in the same outcome!!!!
Thane: Funny you should mention that.....

Hello again!

By *drawanon

You may remember me from a dozen pages or so ago. I have not read the most recent posts, and maybe I should have, but instead I will share my victory.

Thanks to utaker1988 I was able to use a save from masseffect2saves to get a base save to edit for the conditions I wanted through Gibbed! This is why I did not come back asking for saves because I hadn't realized how much of a mass effect 2 plot I would be able to edit with Gibbed. I figured I would only come back once I needed help, and after figuring it out on my own, I instead figured I would not come back until I had Shepard meet up with Thane.

So here she is.

And here they are:

I will also justify my questioning drell tear ducts and sweatglands from earlier as seeming as more polite than bringing up which points of flesh or bodily fluids as having the potential to cause hallucinations; and furthermore express how dumb I felt for not realizing that we witness drell tears at least twice in the series.

Thane'll forgive me. =P

Someone should do a video mod of ME3 where Liara melds minds with a friend Shep on earth, and when she goes to do it have her eyes turn gold and Harbinger says "Assuming Control"

I don't think anyone has really called Kadan whinny in ME3. I think more people have an issue with him being bi now. The only thing that annoyed me was his constant questions about Cerberus.

Those Liara fans that pm you are crazy. They sound like 5 year olds. I have to laugh at them telling you to stop being mean to her. They do realize she isn't a real person, and has no feelings. They also don't seem to realize that not everyone likes the bluberry muffin.

Well since Horizon when he dropped Shepard in front of her team, I hated kaidan and considered him as an infantile lunatic bastard. And more he questionned Shepard about Cerberus and more I wished Shepard could just point a missile launcher to his empty head.
As a woman he did not impressed me much with his brillant mind ...

@utaker...that was awesome! And I agree with Cosmo! Someone should totally do a comic with that!

@gears...If I could do video stuff, I would do that! OMG that would be hilarious!! Imagine the hate we would receive. Priceless!!!!

@Mademon...welcome back and glad it worked for you. :)

@Jecw...yeah, he's not whiney anymore as much as he is irritating with all the questioning. Really really p*ssed me off on Mars.

And I like blueberry muffins...:( i just don't like Liara's blueberry azz.

@Saodade...LOL I forgave him a bit after I heard Raphael read the Horizon letter. Not that I ever wanted him back, but I did let go of it.

But Mars...yeah, that pissed me off.

@mnomaha
Mars bothered me as well. Shepard didn't owe him any kind of explanation.

I actually like blueberry muffins myself.

I was pretty indifferent about Horizon.  I thought Raphael reading the letter a great thing he did for his fans. After hearing it I was still pretty indifferent.
Mars just annoyed the hell out of me. I was beginning to think he couldn't hear. Then we have Liara either trying to push Shepard towards Kaidan, or maybe she wanted him for herself with that comment.
