Yeah, they weren't catering to female gamers in this game. Else we would have had our LIs whether they were liked or not. And they definitely wouldn't have auto death or cheat on you. Notice how this only happens to femShep. Where's the equality and offering a similar game experience? In fact, we might have had more to lure new gamers in if all things were equal. So again, when ea/bw talk about grabbing new players to the franchise, they again were strictly catering to one group; men (and most likely younger men who play action games).
@emeraldfern: I know how you feel. I romance Garrus, but I don't feel happiness as I go through the game. I mean, I love the romance and it's lovely, but I'm feeling sad and feeling extremly lucky I chose the choice BW deemed to get more content than others.
It's hard enough to get through Thane's death when I know people chose him as an LI. I can barely get through Jacob's for the same reason.
We shouldn't be feeling this way. I should be excited to go on a Thane play through like you would have liked to do a Garrus play through.
@utaker: The Undertaker was my gateway drug into the world of wrestling 15 years ago. And I still watch.
It's funny, in my years of watching wrestling, I don't feel as put down as a female fan as compared to being a female gamer. Sure, wrestling has its rough spots when it comes to women, but they acknowledge they have different fans and they aren't just going for teenage boys.
As a female game, I get the feeling I should be getting one LI choice compared to the tons a male character gets. And that's only if my character isn't a lesbian. I have to deal with bikini armor and oversexed and sexualized female characters.
I've been gaming for over 20 years, starting with Mario on the NES. Why is it that everything else can change, but when it come to what female gamers want, it's either deal with it, have it wrapped up in glitter and pink, or just given a token effort.
This is why ME3 saddens me so much. I was really feeling like I mattered as a female fan and gamer in ME1 and ME2. Now it's obvious I do not.
