I just hope BW isn't making a lot of decisions based on the size of fan bases...Thane and Kasumi have two of the smaller fan bases...I still think that has a lot to do with Thane being a late recruit and Kasumi being a DLC...Thane is also kinda controversial in his beliefs and opinions and the player really needs to sit down and think about what he says from a philosophical perspective to get a clearer insight into what he is saying....it doesn't mean you have to necessarily agree with him or not, but he certainly makes you think....I really enjoy that...I love his dialog....except for the memory thing.......all the picture flashing makes my head ache...but thats BW, not Thanes character.

I read on an Escapist article that Bioware does listen to fan feedback and it does affect their games, however, it came from the Dragon Age people so I don't know if the Mass Effect staff take the same approach.  I think vocal fans do have some influence, but Bioware isn't going to write a character out of a story because of popularity.  I mean even Jacob has a fanbase.  I don't think one character will be favored over another solely due to their fanbase, that wouldn't be fair.  I want Thane back to stay...

I really liked how Thane's philosophy doesn't really fit with how an average person would reason.  I disagreed with Thane's philosophy, but at the same time I understood why he thought that way.  It's what made him feel like an alien on top of looking like one.

Those notorious memory flashbacks.  The first thing I thought while watching those scenes was "wait...he has an iris!?".

Just in case the vocal fans have input, I have been pushing some cases harder than I normally would myself...goes against personal character, but it seems quiet doesn't get the notice....But yes, I do hope even if fan bases are smaller, BW still takes note...I know I would be very disappointed if Thane only received a small part and gets blitzed by more popular characters.

Well there was the Cure Thane banner.  That was pretty vocal.  On top of that Thane's a love interest so he needs content at some point.  I keep getting this nagging suspicion that Thane's going to get some kind of plot twist in his story come ME3.  I could be overthinking it though.

Thane does have an interesting perception.  I'm with you.  I hope ME3 will allow Thane to discuss more about philosophy with Shepard in some way.  I also hope Kolyat gets some more screentime too.  I don't feel like we got to know him that well.

I feel weird admitting it, but, as an animator, I get excited when the camera angle is close enough to allow you to see both.

The flashy eye thing...yes, I get your point....apparently I'm a low level epileptic,....prone to black outs, but my eyes stay open and I keep operating at low levels...yup, I'm weird.........so yes, anyway, the flashing messes with my head too much for me to be able to take a lot of note of the finer graphics in the flashy scenes.

However, this only works if you have Thane and an early recruit together. If you, for example, have Thane and, say, Tali early on through the game, the game will crash during Horizon. You're just not meant to have these guys before Horizon.

It just seems too easy for me to think that Thane is going continue as is.  I hope Bioware doesn't dissapoint, even though I've been epicly wrong before.

Who knows Thane and Legion whoever else may have an earlier joining/rotation point since they were the late joining characters last game.  That would be nice.

It's visible in other scenes, not just the flashing ones.  The camera just has to be focused on his face in general.  It's like Legion's face plate movement.  I like seeing subtle movement like that in animations.

I used Gibbed's Save Editor and it was very easy to change a save to include Thane. There are some additional lines. Example, when you go recruit Garrus. Otherwise, it the same Thane. Its just nice to be able to have him with you the entire game.

Do the additional lines mean that Thane was suppose to be recruited earlier originally?

Yes.
I would love to be able to recruit my squad in whatever orderI want. That was one thing that bothered me with ME2. We get Thane so late in the game. At the same time I would rather get him later, and have him until the end rather than get him early only to have him leave in the middle.

The only extra dialogue Thane gets when recruited early are little comments during missions. And he pretty much says what any other squaddue would say except in Keythe Farley's voice. Always be careful with modding though. I used the save editor to recruit squaddies earlier, but straight after I got the IFF, I went back on the Normandy, and no crew was there. Which meant they died when I went on the SM.

The only real modding I ever do is to my Shepards. I just could never get one to look the way I wanted her to without the modding. I would like to mod Thane's clothes though.

That would be very nice.........As it is, I run the game....Grab Garrus, then Kasumi....collect Garrus first because I prefer him and Kas on the Presidium.....grab others b4 Horizon....then the moment Illium arrives, run for Thane...the only stop I make is for that sweet kiss from Gianna on the way through........Just putting it out there, a thought I have had, if Thane isn't romanced, do you think Seryna might show up in ME3 as default beau for Thane?

I am still hoping and praying that BW just might be able to pull off allowing us to pick our own squads from the ME1, 2 & 3 pool....I have my list just in case...
