Well, my internet is full of fail. Went out again for two days. And today, fifteen minutes after I started work, we had a flock of ducks fly into the powerlines and blow fuses in the main transformers out at Pring. (Barbequed duck, anyone?). Should be fixed in about an hour. (Hope I have enough time to get ready for the ballet tonight. Note to self: get cocktail dress out of drawer). I promise I'll read these last two pages when I get back this afternoon.

So letting those of you who were wondering: yes I'm still alive. Yes, I am getting some work on the fanbook essay done. yes I have a list of screenies I need from you, utaker, I'll send them this arvo.

Now what I'm really here for:

@yamainu, Moira, Emeraldfern, beaniebat, and everyone else who is leading a Thane project. Since most of you didn't respond when I said I had a surprise for you, I'll just tell you what it is (you have only yourselves to blame). I've commissioned an art piece for us but I need to get your Thane-mancing Shepard's facecodes before I can get it done. Please PM me. I promise I'll delete them after it's done. Just a thank-you for those of you who are leading the protests.

Got my work done early today, so I have been finishing up Evan Shepard in Overlord. Thane is with me, of course, and I just saw something toothachingly sweet; as Evan gets to the final control panel (the one where the VI scrambles you in to "the matrix", as I like to call it), there is a cutscene. Thane looks right at her after she cracks a little joke, and gives her such a sweet smile, then blinks. When Evan goes all Matrix, Thane looks incredibly scared/concerned for her. Both him and Garrus start beating on the door trying to get to me.........swoon. I am so easily swooned these days. Think I need a 'date' night.

That's sweet, Thane smiling when his girlfriend makes a joke. And my Natalie Shepard is the type to joke around too. I don't have Overlord though.

Thanks, that would be the one I was thinking of.

Assuming that they can gain the ability to keep this under control most of the time with practice, I wonder how often this would happen with young drell who haven't tried yet. That'd be cute to watch.

@Saren...(you have a very long name)...have you not played Overlord then? I did enjoy that one and TBH, LoTSB was really very well done. I thought Arrival sucked though, and really, it doesn't matter if you play it or not...you still end up stuck on Earth. Bloody Hackett sell out...Grrrrrr.....

No, I haven't played any DLC. I play on Xbox, and I don't use an online connection with it, so anything that needs to be downloaded has never been in my game. I've read about them on the Wiki and watched a couple on youtube.

Lucky you, I played that POS Arrival. And yes, it is a rather crappy DLC. The best part about it was getting trolled by Harbinger at the end. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I ever said, "I miss Harbinger taunting me." But while playing ME3, I missed it. Boy he really got under my skin, I wanted to annihilate him. Never got the chance another fail on BW's part. I waited anxiously for what he had in store for us after this, "You have failed. We will find another way." I wanted to see that "another way". What did we get? One cameo and a blast by his laser and then the ending. WTF was that? Miranda's backside and EDI's ****** got more air time than the foe who harassed, taunted and annoyed me for nearly a full game.

We didn't even get any Harbinger words of superiority. What about his final taunts, "I told you this would hurt you Shepard" BLAST!!!! "You have failed. Your allies have fallen. You stand alone. Now you know true power." BLAST!!!! "You cannot defeat us Shepard. You are no longer relevant. Face your annihilation." BLAST!!!! I can tell you one thing, if he were taunting me like that on the way to the beam and constantly blasting me, I wouldn't care about seeing some stupid Casper the Idiot Ghost up there, I'd be more than happy to shoot, grab, swan dive anything to end Harbinger. My Shepard's last words would be "F**K You Harbinger! I'm coming home, Thane."

honestly utaker you have *got* to get a job writing games. That last paragraph had more quality/quantity than the entire game. maybe we (I mean you guys) should start on Myth's writing project. We could start writing grant requests and get some fab modder to fix our games.

I wouldn't say I'm lucky to not have DLC - remember, this also means I'm missing out on Javik being in the game. But at times, it does seem that way when patches add extra bugs to the game. My internet-less Xbox is still running just as well now as it did when I first got it years ago.

I wanted more Reaper interaction too (just posted about that in another thread today, actually), but I've sort of corrected that with Carson Shepard in my headcanon. I made him throw that "You failed. We'll find another way." line from Harbinger back at the starchild, then proceed to destroy the Reapers his way and live. Kind of like how I made him save Thane in his own way, by Vanguard charging in front of Kai Leng's sword... Carson's very brave, but doesn't always think very far ahead. xD

I'd love for someone to fix our games. I would have also loved for BW to use an engine on it's ME series that allowed us to mod it. After all this time, I still play DA:O because of the mods, I get a new game every time I decide to play it. So what if the Warden doesn't talk but at least the choices we get to choose from cover most personalities. Besides my Warden doesn't need to talk once she picks up Zevran, she isn't interested in conversation. What I need is a toolset for DAII, I want a nekkid Fenris wandering around.

Too bad they didn't use a mod friendly engine in ME, I would hound someone or make it myself...a "take off your shoes Thane" mod for when he enters Shepard's cabin. I don't really care if someone says "this game is not about dirty smut, it's about stopping reapers." Whatever, if I want to turn my Shepard's cabin into porno heaven, it's my game. Leave me alone while I get everyone off the Normandy at the end and let Thane walk around bare @ssed, I'm not hurting anyone except myself. I'm also not hurting anyone else if I decide I want carpenter Thane who tells Shepard, "come here Siha, I have a huge piece of wood that needs screwing."

I know my game's not getting fixed. That's... sort of the downside to not downloading anything.

As for romances, I prefer everything to be fade-to-black. Just show me the sweet, emotional scenes and leave the rest for me to not imagine. These Sheps I created are getting some action, and that's great for them, but I don't want to see it. If others mod it into their games, I just look the other way and know not to use those mods when I eventually get a gaming PC. xD Even the in-game stuff for certain characters can get to a point where I just redirect my attention to conveniently placed Mass Effect lithos, or the action figures.

Thane's loyalty mission is one of my favourites in ME2. There's no shooting mercs, fighting masses of husks or a boss fight at the end. It's an example of perfect mission for RPG. I don't recall anything like that in ME3.

Edit: Oh, no.. I've just watched video showing breaking up with Thane in ME3. That was cruel...and now I'm in a bad mood. Shouldn't have tortured myself like that. Note to myself...never watch that again.

Hmmm...yes, it is unfair that we never got to see where those lyrium tattoos go. It's also unfair that if you go visit Kaidan in the hospital he's laying there shirtless and we don't get a shirtless Thane. Boo Hiss Bioware. It's like they are telling you. This is Kaidan. He is shirtless. You must start drooling. I said DROOL dammit! Ummm...no, not interested. Now had we gotten a shirtless Thane, I'd still be staring at him probably in a catatonic state. A nekkid Thane is the stuff glorious screen shots are made of.

Let me be clear Bioware, this does not mean you alter his death scene to have him laying there shirtless. They have a habit of giving us what we ask for but then botching it to a point of epic ineptitude.

What I would give for a real moment of ironic humor. Can we have Thane standing in the waiting room with nothing on but a smile? Oh and donuts. Yes, that would be lovely. Then have Shep so delirious with excitement that she charges him, trips over her own feet and goes crashing through the big window. Still a better ending for Shep than we have now. I'd totally be happy with that. Happier if the scene after the end credits shows Thane reaching down, grabbing a donut and eating it. If your EMS is high enough at that point, it will cut down to Shep breathing. Gotta give people hope, you know.

So we got some new gloves to try out in the lab today... they were greeeeeeeeen!!!  So... I pretended my middle 2 fingers were stuck together and tried to do an experiment that way.  It was surprisingly difficult.  My hand is a little sore now

Anyway..I had crazy bug yesterday..I played ME3 with my Shepard's edited save ( Thane died in SM-sorry, but to see him daying in ME3 it's too much for me)..Kirrahe was killed by Kai Leng, and when I returned to Normandy I got letter from...Thane that he is in a hospital..of course I went there ( stupid me..I had hope, you know), and Thane was nowhere...but still..for me he was alive somewhere on the Citadel...

I've heard of people ignoring Thane's "meet me at Huerta" letter so they don't see him die. Unfortunately, they also get no kisses or the abilty to see Thane in ME3 at all, and that's no trade, as far as I'm concerned.
