Hmmm....a fixed flashback scene, no thanks, I can do that myself. Although I've found that still images are a royal pain but I haven't given up. Anyone want a Casey Hudson flashback?

I didn't think so. But seriously, that should have been the last thing you saw, his smug smile and his lips moving and you can clearly make out him saying, "artistic integrity." I would have loved that!

I am more upset that I loaded up Origin today and ME3 so I could test a flashback scene and wow..a patch! A patch that completely restored the old flashback scenes and converted my coalesced file back to the original. Too bad for them, I was smart enough to copy those things to a portable drive in case I ever had a hard drive failure. My reaction...ok...it's working...WTF!!!! Liara and Joker are back!

I found the pcc file that has Thane's death.. Curiously enough it also has Jacob's lame conversation with Sheppard saying he is going to be a father. Wonder what the game will do if I just delete the darn thing!

That depends, I suppose it could crash the game.  But I don't see why it would since you know what you are doing.  Or you could do what I've been working on, just wipe his name from the Death Wall.  No one mentions his death, so it's not an issue. (Funny how that became a positive in this particular instance).  If  you kick Leng fast enough on Thessia, he doesn't get the chance to mention Thane.  As for Shepard mentioning him at the Cerberus HQ, one can speculate that she's just pissy because Thane got stabbed.  I know I would be ripe for revenge if someone even nicked my old man with a knife.  As I see it, if the name isn't there, he didn't die.  Of course, one still gets the letter but it can be read in many number of ways. "When I am no longer able to share my thoughts."  Doesn't mean he's dead, could mean he is unable to talk to you and he's unsure if Shepard will survive or  not.  "I am dying."  It doesn't say, "I am dead."  Just that he's in the process of dying.  Yeah, aren't we all.  "I will await you across the sea."  Still doesn't mean he's dead, could mean that should the worse come to pass for either of them, that's where he'll be.

Yes it was/is traumatic and brutal. It is also truthful and full of hurt. That is not only Thane lying there all alone, hurt and bleeding out, it is also the females who romanced Thane. We were left alone and hurting, not one person on the Normandy bothered to mention him. Not one person bothered to acknowledge that Shepard may be in pain over losing the man she loved. Yeah, but my Shep was invited to find Tali drunk and upset over what happened to Miranda. Or to listen to Liara go on about her Mom who has been dead for how long now? Or Garrus mention something about the VS right after Thane dies? Or the mention of Steve, if you manage to have him die on Earth.

We were left behind and forgotten about as gamers. If they truly meant to make things equal then romances should have been equal. If Thane and Jacob were to be discarded as LI's, then why couldn't two of ManShep's straight romances be discarded as well? Thane dies no matter what..ok, how about Miranda dies on Sanctuary no matter what. Jacob gets someone else pregnant no matter what...ok, how about Jack meets a Grissom instructor and gets pregnant no matter what.

Is very complex, afraid I am only up to replacing textures and reading the files right now.
 
But replacing the texture on the normandy wall is easy.. Shall I put "Bioware" instead of Thane there ?

I don't have the patience or attention to deal with changing anything in the game right now. If I did, I'd be playing with that hospital meeting. I looked at some of the files awhile back and I was like, "uh, that's too many for my mind to process."

There are only 4 pcc files whit Thane on hospital, 
- BioD_CitHub_HospitalP2.pcc and BioD_CitHub_HospitalP2_LOC_INT.pcc deal with Thane before cerberus takes over Citadel, (they also have code for Udina and Jack visits)
- BioD_CitHub_HospitalP3.pcc and BioD_CitHub_HospitalP3_LOC_INT.pcc deal with Thane's death (they also have code for Jacob visit)

I think the "LOC_INT" pcc files are for overflow of textures and stuff that didn't fit the original, 
making it only 2 sets of files to alter when i finally learn how 

The normandy hallway on crew dec pcc file is BioA_Nor_305Hallway.pcc but is not as easy to modify as I thought. They actually write the names at game time, instead of having a fixed texture. There are 12 names that could possibly go there, I'm having trouble making heads or tails of the 12 names to see which one is Thane. When I find it it will be easier to just erase it than to add a replacement like "Artistic Integrity" 

"Artistic Integrity" ? Is that a new name for EA saying "there are too many squadies, get rid of some and you must keep the IGN broad and all ME1 toons plus Vega and EDI" ?

So I disappeared from this forum for the last few months. Any chance of anything happening with Thane that I missed? (other than the EC, which will probably have nothing on him as he's already dead by that point)

Even now, Thane is still my favorite video-game romance character. *dramatic sigh* hahaha
(and it's been so long since I've played the ME games that I can't even remember the controls)

Nah, Artistic Integrity was their explanation for the ending. While you were looking into the first set before Cerberus did you see the set of files that said, "makout_grab" and then go, "oh please let this not be what I think it is." It's also followed by fem_breath and a two digit number, some other stuff is in there too but those are the ones that caught my attention and made me laugh. So did "thanepunch."

@Aeyl, unfortunately there is nothing new. I have that problem with playing games but I don't have to be away from them for very long. After playing ME2 a lot...I went to Dragon Age and kept swearing for a moment because I was trying to move my Warden with the keys and mouse. Why won't the FOV change? Why is she just standing there? Why is she running into the walls? I'm moving the mouse! WTF!!! Then it dawned on me that I didn't need the mouse. Oh yeah, duh.

Thanks for the info. Well, depending on how the EC is I'll keep checking in every so often to see if they have Thane DLC planned ( I could wish!). If not, then oh well. Too bad I guess.

By the way, all of the Thane art on this thread is amazing. Love seeing such a great character represented so well

Gods Utaker that was terrible.... I'm using it as one of the reference figures for the Player Reaction sections, k? Oh, and Cosmo, I'm using the replayability and measuring the dust on your ME3 copy with a ruler post you did as one of the quotes for that section.

And do you know how hard it is to compare Thane's romance to the other's in ME3 and use the VS as an example without having it devolve into Kaidan-bashing? Which is fun, granted, but not very productive.
