I didn't really see what Jacob said about Thane as a jab at him. It was more along the lines of, women always fall for those kind of eyes.

Really it's an insult towards women in general, always suckers for angst.

The comment on Garrus on the other hand is offensive towards Garrus.

What Liara says is worse though. She mentions that you are trying to replace a dead wife. Mind you, if you pursue an LI in ME2 then you are cheating on Liara because she never argued or broke things off with Shepard.

But still, that stings when she says that. I wonder how a Kaidan/Thane confrontation would work out. They both seem pretty level headed. I don't think it would have the fireworks of a Miranda/Ash confrontation.

I agree. What Jacob said about Garrus might have been bad, but  what Liara says about Thane is so much worse.

I think she says you're trying to replace a dying man's dead wife. So first she remindes you that Thane is dying. Then she says you're trying to replace his dead wife. I feel she had no business brining Thane's wife into that conversation. What Jacob says about Garrus and Thane may not have been that nice, but it wouldn't hurt their feelings. Garrus and Thane wouldn't care.

Liara doesn't really say anything hurtful about the other LI's if she is dumped for one of them. In fact some of what she says about the other LI's can be funny, but what she says about Thane was just plain cruel, and untrue. Thane never once gave me the impression that Shepard was some kind of replacement for his wife.

The confrontation with Kaidan and Thane probably won't be too bad. I would think the one with Garrus and Kaidan would have more drama since they know each other. Ash and Miranda I don't know, but it probably won't go well.

Not to get off topic, but I was browsing videos on youtube and came across a video of a message intercepted by the Shadow Broker (I believe this being Liara at the time) from Thane to Shepard. I never saw this message. After going through the database in the SB base the first time, I never looked at it again. The message was so incredibly sweet. I nearly cried.

I was just curious as to rather or not anyone else had seen this message or not.

Are you talking about the love letter? 

If so, then yes, most of us have seen the love letter from Thane to Shepard. You only get the letter if you romanced him. If you did romance him maybe you just missed it. I love the letter, and I agree it is very sweet, and definitely something Thane would write.

Also I think it was the old Shadow Broker who got the letter first. It was just still in his dossier when Liara became Shadow Broker.

Yeah I romanced him on one of my Shepards. I play three different femShep's and I only read the database on my first play through of that DLC, and that Shepard was not with Thane. Now I have to go and read it in my game. It was so sweet! I love finding out things that I missed in the game. haha I have played the second game through like 10 times, finding things I missed is rare.

I'm sure there are a lot of things that I've missed as well. It is nice when you go back and discover new things. The letter was a nice little surprise. Did you see the surveillance videos? Those were pretty interesting to watch.

I also felt that Liara's comment about Thane was OOC for her. She always revered Shepard and is a very softly spoken individual (apart from in the comics ><.) But J is right, when referring to Garrus, she makes a joke out of it 'I hear Garrus isn't just calibrating the Normandy's guns these days.' And then she apologises.

But saying that about someone who is dying, and then making assumptions that Shepard is being cruel to Thane even though she is just trying to give him peace and comfort in his last months. I was starting to 'not mind' Liara in ME2, even though her character drastically changed. But I think seeing that on youtube turned me off her. It was so unlike her to be so rash, insensitive and selfish.

do you know if that's on youtube or do I have to make myself a new renegade Shep?... I'm positive I've never seen that as my sheps are mostly paragon

And renegades can be quite fun. My renegades usually just have an attitude. They are sarcastic and mean but mostly to bad people (and there's a lot of those in Mass Effect). They are like Thane when he is acting the bad cop. They just mess with people for the intimidation purposes only. The way I play it - it’s just toying with the bad guys.  I still make most of the big decisions on paragon side.
And if you’re like me and can’t just kill everyone and do most of the renegade stuff :innocent:you should upgrade your passive skill as soon as possible. It’s easier that way. 

That's exactly my problem! but now I have a goal, I think I can make it.

Well, my favourite music Thane video has the video clip scene right at the end. But watch it any, because this is a must see for any Thane fan. Very... nice .

Also, love that quote, 'Be still mouse, you can change your pants in a moment.' I can see Thane having a very wry sense of humour, but he just doesn't express it often.
