I think only Tali and Garrus trigger it.

Jacob does as well, I think.  I didn't have either Garrus or Tali with me and I got the scene.  He's rather unsettled by it, since he was at Eden Prime.  I had Miranda with me as well, so not sure if it was her or him.

I could be wrong, however.  I've played through this game about a billion times now for footage with tons of squad combos.  My brain is somewhat scrambled.

Your screenshots are awesome - makes me wish I was playing on a PC just to save the footage.

Finishing up my 7th playthrough tonight, with my new Shepard. First time I've romanced Thane without being locked in a stupid love triangle. Just have the suicide mission left. LOTSB and Arrival will be played in the next few days.

Has anyone tried taking Thane to the derelict Reaper? He has an interesting line about the dragon's teeth. I wasn't aware the drell had their own theories on this.

I always take Thane and Garrus, and yes I noticed that he does say something about the dragon's teeth. I can't remember what exactly he says though. I haven't really taken anyone else, so I don't know what the others might say.

The line is, literally:

"There are tales about such things among my people, devices buried on distant worlds that turn the finders into abominations."

Kind of caught me off guard. Very interesting.

I didn't know that...I'm going to have to explore that one....and yes, it is very interesting and points at a possible past between the Drell and the Reapers possibly?

Now I remember the line. I take Thane pretty much everywhere when I get him.
I'm sure there are other lines that he says that I don't know about. I didn't even think about that, but the Drell did probably come across the Reapers in the past. That is very interesting.

This is one of the lines I didn't know he said until someone mentioned it.

Loved that line. I only discovered it in my last playthrough. Thane's so ridiculously bad ass.

When does he say that? I take him everywhere and I don't remember that and I've played like 6 times!! Just more reasons to love him...

It's during Thane's loyalty mission when you talk to mouse. Don't choose the paragon or renegade options. You choose the option to pay him.

I'm still trying to get the line where Thane mentions not giving Kolat chocolate. I still can't find it.Image IPB

Ok so another playthrough here I come!! I FINALLY just did LOTSB - it was good, but I wish there was squad dialogue about it once back on Normandy, especially since I took Thane and I would imagine he'd have something to say about it...

I took Thane also, and was a little dissappointed that he doesn't say anything. Especially since the Shadow Broker had a hand in his wifes death. None of the squadmates say anything though. That is probably the one thing that bothered me, but I guess I understand why they couldn't bring back all the VA for this one dlc.

I think they all say something when the building blows up. Including Thane.
I can't remember what it is though.

You get it when you pick the renegade intimidate.

When the building blows up, Thane says:   "This...is problematic."

As for Thane not saying anything about the Broker, after talking with friends I think about it like this:

The Broker was mentioned in ME1 as a neutral figure, who pretty much sells information to anyone that can pay. Giving that information to the batarians who killed Irikah was just business.  it's likely the Broker didn't even know what they were going to do with it, though he probably found out later.  He provided the information for them, but that doesn't make him responsible for her death.  It fits rather well into Thane's own philosophy.

"But I made the decision to hunt them."

Those batarians made the decision to kill Irikah, hence why he tracked them all down and made them pay.

What happened with Liara/Feron/The Collectors, however, gives us a reason to go after the Shadow Broker.  I'm sure Thane had no issue helping take him down (especially after he threatens Kolyat).

Thanks Aislinn I couldn't remember.

He might not have known that they were going to kill Thane's wife, but I think he knew someone was going to get hurt. I just don't think he cared. Thane probably wouldn't have been able to find him anyway. Liara probably never would have found him with out Shepards help, and the information from Cerberus.

Poor Feron. Being torchered for two years.
I think the reason Thane and the other squadmates don't say anything is because Bioware didn't have the time, or money to bring back the actors for one dlc. I really wasn't that surprised either. A little dissappointed, but not surprised.

I noticed that he threatend Kolyat. With everyone else it seems to be a direct threat to them, but with Thane he threatened his son. That is a good enough reason for him to help kill the Shadow Broker.

Of course.  What I put above, is just how I reason it out in my own mind.  As for the Shadow Broker, who knows how many lives he ruined with his information trade.  It also seemed that he was a bit of a check and balance in the galaxy.  Hopefully, Liara will be able to maintain that in a much more ethical manner.

The line about Earth can be triggered if you choose the "I can pay you" option when talking to Mouse.

It's because Shepard suggests that she gives Mouse enough money so that he can get off the station, which leads Mouse to remark he has no home to go and that he has never been off the Citadel, at which point Thane will remind him of Earth by saying that. It's a beautiful line, very poetic. A lot of people miss it because they tend to go for the Charm/Intimidate option.

I must have played a dozen times, and never chose the pay him option. I would either choose the paragon or renegade one. If someone hadn't have mentioned that he says that I still might not know.

Thane has so many well written lines. He is so vivid with his imagery and Keythe does a fantastic job of bringing it to life. I think it has something to do with drell as a whole though. Their solipsism will probably allow for some very poetic language.

Doesn't he? I could almost swear that's precisely why I'm so fascinating by his character.

Yes! And as someone who studies the English language, and writes fictional stories and poems, I find his language beautiful Image IPB.

I completely agree.
I think this is one reason why Thane is my favorite character and LI. One of the things that I enjoyed the most was listening to the conversations he had with my Shepard. I really hope we get more of that in ME3.Image IPB

Yey! I'm an English major, so his poetic language is also a huge turn-on for me. The writers did a fantastic job with his dialogue and Keythe's voice acting captured the eloquence of Thane's character so well. "drools"

I was looking at Keythe's facebook page the other day (don't judge me) and he said he has a lot of fun voicing Thane.=]

When I first encountered Thane was taken aback by how formal he was, and that voice.  I wasn't expecting anything spectacular out of him, but I was in for a shock.  His lines were written so well.  I've had several moments where I've had to play parts of a conversation over again because I got distracted by his voice.:lol:

I'd imagine quite a bit of Thane's formality was influenced by the Hanar.

Same. Freaking. HERE. My favorite line of his was (of all things!) during his description of Irikah's funeral; describing the hanar sliiiiding her body in the water.... just the way he enunciated 'slide' was just so... mmmff.

It is amazing to me how the character's voice makes such an impact. As soon as Thane spoke, I was a goner.
