Ohh, I am probably going to be so unpopular for saying the following, but here it goes anyway......
I have been seeing posts pop up over the past month and a half regarding what Thane fans are doing to try and change things in me3. How much if any, they have contributed to different projects, linked different sites, or twittered on a regular basis. Some have posted their contributions, while others don't. However, some of them have still come to the threads and posted their thoughts, feelings, ideas, pictures, or just kind words. Some do not post everyday, but I know I enjoy their posts when they do show up for a bit of conversation. Even if it is the forum equivalent of 'Ding-dong-ditch'.....it's still nice to see those Thane fans around.
I don't exactly have a "Drell's memory", but I have a decent human one. I have tried to pay attention to how many have contributed, but largely go unnoticed or forgotten/never seen by newcomers. I remember the lovely Memorial Wall that
Wildannie put together and mailed off to BW during the first few weeks after me3 came out. I remember
Visii and
JECW putting the Protest Thread together, and
mnomaha putting up the Facebook site (and helping maintain Drellickers...weee!), right after the game was released. I recall
Visii and others (some which have sadly gone missing, but life does happen
) starting to form the LIA, and putting together The Book. I have fond memories of
Aislinn making new Thane videos and putting up on YouTube, and
Ottemis and
LuckyThirteen making those lovely Thane outfits in ME2 and me3, for our Siha's to wear.
I rejoice in remembering the dialogues that
Utaker wrote quite often to our amusement, and the impressive Save Thane in Game diagram from
RShara (not to mention her kicka** Kai Lame frame-by-frame fight with Thane). I have referenced the likes of
Julia_xo in some of my essays and analysis (slap the gal on da back for getting me all the me3 dialogues
) and
stwu as well.
And still more impress me and give me all kinds of warm and fuzzies;
yamainu for taking on the daunting task of the Thane Fanbook, and the numerous contributions of
mythlover20 to said book. In awe of
Cosmochyck for finishing up The Tribute book when others couldn't for personal reasons (wish both
Nick and
Arlyss the best
). The sheer force and will of
Squeegee and her list of sites she maintains (not to mention her incredible poster!).
Emeraldfern's lovely art always brings a smile to my face. The amazing efforts of
giftfish for rallying people on both BSN and HTL to encourage BW to add LI content to me3 DLC. And lets not forget the ongoing saga of Travelin' Thane (thanks again to
Annie), making his way around the world and all the Thane fans involved
. Or the photo album being put together by
Beanniebat. And the Medical Essays that
Moira-chan and
Beannie have written.......
And still others have added their voices either with signing petitions, participating in Polls, or just helping to keep threads active. I miss the funny comments from
lysallu, and still giggle for joy when I see
Tashash post. The numerous posts from
Gearseffect (love dat potty mouth
) and
LanceSoluce13, and the fact that they are interested in our thoughts for their FanFics.
Bronogh and
Jenlocks lovely thoughts, and
Renmiri's rants (hehe).
Porcelyn's sorrowful insights and
RGC_Ines straight forward posts.
......And the list goes on. So many, who post and contribute when they can, and I am grateful for that. I give a giant cheer for all those willing to admit they like this damn lizard!!
For keeping these threads going.
THAT alone is contribution. There is no ill will in this post. It is merely meant as a reminder of what many have added to this fandom, and that at least for me, I truly appreciate it. I hope that we can bring some of these old posters back, and new ones as well. Keep the threads going, and dammit people....have fun too!! Even if the game (or Thane's character treatment in the last game) doesn't bring us much joy and entertainment, these threads/groups can. Even if you just need to express frustration, or tell a limerick to put a smile on anothers face, it adds something to this thread. Post when you can, and when you can't, just know you are missed.......Glad to know you all!
