And slightly OT, but I just managed to get my somewhat slow brain to actually grasp the concept of how to extract a custom-shep for 3dsMax! Yay! Ivy Shepard you are now posable in 3dsMax!

(Which was also fun and difficult at the same time, much like the Elder Futhark)

It's becasue they're a bunch of batarian ******  people trying to defent their pride. It's hard to admit that they could do something much better.
I have no good words anymore about their disrespect for their fans as well as their own characters. That's how disenfranchised I've become with the direction they've taken *throws ME3 into the sea*. 


By the way since I noticed some of you talked about leaked scripts here are some of the intakes (Thane centered) from them:

Beta leaked script:

Kolyat has received word that, at the request of Donnel Udina, the Citadel Council will hold a critical vote in 24 hours that will abandon the hanar homeworld to the Reapers in the name of protecting other planets. He needs you to get to Udina, one way or the other. He brings in Kasumi (if alive) to help nab evidence from C-SEC headquarters he could use to blackmail Udina. You get in to C-SEC HQ, and finds the evidence being destroyed by a Cerberus double agent. Extracting the information from him, you discover that Udina is indoctrinated and will soon launch a coup d'état to overthrow the Citadel Council. You and Kolyat must now stop him through any means possible. Thane (if alive) is brought on board to assassinate Udina. Thane is weak from his disease, but is on heavy painkillers and determined to complete his last mission

You, Thane, and Kasumi take on heavy security measures on their way to the Council Chamber in the Citadel Tower. Thane and Kasumi's presence helps you get past various puzzle obstacles. A short but brutal fight with Cerberus conspirators ensues when you secure a vantage point to take the target down. When Udina makes his move, you are there to reveal his crimes in front of the Council. Udina reacts by signaling an army of hidden Cerberus forces. In the climactic showdown, Thane uses the last of his strength to take out Udina. You give Thane the last rites he is too weak to say for himself, and Thane dies, his species' debt to the hanar repaid.

1. ROMANCED:

Thane: {With a little difficulty.] Congratulations are in order. The Council has not been this united since... uhh.{Thane sinks to his knees. Shepard kneels by him.}
Shepard: What's wrong?
Thane:Kepral's. It's aggravated by... exertion.
Thane: I'm sorry, siha. I ran all the way here... couldn't let you fail. Thought I was being a hero.
Shepard:It's all right. Just catch your breath.
Thane:Doubtful. Oxygen transfer proteins aren't working. Your equivalent would be hemo-- {A coughing fit wracks Thane. Shepard helps out so he's lying in Shepard's arms.}--hemoglobin. Can't get oxygen from the air. Brain is starving.
Shepard:I'll get some medical help.
Thane:[Shakes head.] Don't go.
Shepard: Do you want me to see if I can find Kolyat for you?
Thane:No. But I have taken lives tonight to reach you. There is something I must do.
Shepard: Did I give you permission to die on me?
Thane: Don't make me laugh... breathing... is hard enough.
Shepard:You ran here in your condition? That's... that's suicide.
Thane:[CINEDESIGN: Small smile.] Last time we tried, it worked out. More importantly, I couldn't let you fail.{A coughing fit wracks Thane. Shepard helps out so he's lying in Shepard's arms.}Sorry. Shouldn't talk. Consumes more oxygen.

Thane:I know all the experts on the Citadel. Ran diagnostics two weeks ago. I asked what they recommended at this late stage.They said, "spend time with your family."
Shepard:Looks like I'm all you've got.
Thane: I can think of no one better, siha.Your memory is not like mine, but perhaps you can keep me in it for a little while.
- Shepard: You're not an easy person to forget, Thane.

*additional romance related sentance
Shepard:For someone who just saved the Citadel Council, you seem to think people will forget you pretty fast.
Thane: Fame was the last thing on my mind. You were the first. Without you... well.

Thane:The moment will be soon. [Coughing fit.] I shouldn't have run. You did not even need me.
Shepard: You fought for something noble, Thane. As last moments go, it's not a bad one.
Thane:No... there is one I would prefer.[Thane memory flashback.] Fist slams the table. Shame at my cowardice, my fear. Atonement means nothing.Her hand touches mine. Her lips part and I tremble. "Thane, be alive with me tonight."
[His body relaxes. Shepard wipes her eyes. Maybe we see a tear, maybe we don't. The music tells us all we need to know.]
Shepard: Goodbye, Thane. Meet you across the sea.

2. FRIEND-ZONED :

Shepard:Kalahira, this one's heart is pure but beset by wickedness and contention.Guide him to where the traveler never tires, the lover never leaves, the hungry never starve. Guide him, Kalahira, and he will be a companion to you as he was to me.
{Thane's body relaxes. Shepard closes his eyes. The music tells us all we need to know.}
{We pan up and out and fade to black.}

Older leaked script:
There were couple added/different sentances to what was written/seen in beta leak:

 - You can beat this, Thane. Don't give up. (don't remember if this was in the game as well)

- I have family here that I must take care of, Shepard. I have neglected my son, and now he is self-destructive.
He may be safe from Reapers here, but I worry. If he dies -- when he dies -- I want him to know he has a loving father.
That means I must give things up for him. I'm sorry. (Thane's alternative anwser on investigate option - Can't you come with me?)

- I also noticed that there was a conversation between Liara and Shepard - since the conversation was half written I don't know the context but this is what the conversation was about (they forgot, huh):

You don't have to know someone for years to miss them once they're gone.

If I had to guess, I'd say he'd/she'd want you to move on.
I miss him/her, too.

One of a kind.
I'm sure (character) would appreciate the sentiment.
He/She must have known. There wasn't much you could hide from him/her.

Thane related sentance (Shepard): He meant a lot to me, Liara, even if we didn't know each other that long.

Wow, yea I dont know where I 1st read this but this.......this would have been a milliom times more appropriate than the **** we got.
(sigh) I would have gladly waitied a few more years for this game to come out to knw tht it was polished and perfect or close to it. U think tht would have made a difference?
Maybe they would have cured him? But it does sound like they always wanted to kill him off

meh....sites like those don't mean much of anything...hell, looking at the rest of the list makes me smirk a bit (hot shots golf and another sport IP, for example). The guy writes for a small Las Vegas periodical. And let's not forget, part of what they base this on is initial sales of the games.....whether we liked it or not, me3 sold well in the beginning, so lists like this reflect such things. So be it. It definately doesn't invalidate mine, yours and the guy down the street, opinions.

I didn't mean to make it out that you didn't respect the bloke! Oh internet you betray my tone of voice :/

But I hear you on the "most guys aren't disappointed", some go "What's the big deal?" in regards to us Thanemancers (and Jacobmancers for that matter), others take their time and listen or, as certain Thane-bros do, downright sympathise with us and join up on our groups, campaigns and the like.

My brother is one of the latter (he's also a disappointed Miranda-mancer) and so is his friend, they're cheering on us from the sidelines

Um lol I kinda had this idea in my head for a alternate version of the Citadel coup if you romanced Thane, um Im not much of a writer so I gave it my best shot cuz Thane is worth it and I had no one else to share it with. Please no rude comments Im very shy:p

If you didnt romance him than you meet him on the Citadel like normal and everything else happens and KL kills him>

However if you did than Femshep doesnt meet him till the coup and the scene where you find the
councillor and KL. Shep trys to get a clear shot @ KL but seeing tht he is 3 on 1 and being the coward he is, he throws like a frag grenade and knocks everyone out. Shep comes to 1st sees her gun and reaches for it but KL is suddenly standing in front of her pointing his sword @ her throat smiling arrogantly. He is about to strike but Thane comes outta no where and points his gun @ KL with a deadly look on his face and through clenched teeth says "get away from her". Shep both surprized and relieves breathes out "Thane.." KL smiles and begans to taunt Thane saying " coming to your "siha's aid? How heroic" He then knocks the gun outta Thanes hand and the two begin fighting. Shep pertakes in the fight shootin KL sword away. KL then runs with Shep and Thane closely in toe. KL throws another grenade but Shep and Thane move just in time but blows the way they came through sperating Shep from the rest of her sqaud and the councilor. Shep tells her sqaud to keep the councilor safe and try to regroup later. Shep and Thane solo till the end of the mission. Banter goes back and fourth with them (like MaleShep and Tali on the dreadnought) with longing looks sent eachothers way:) Then when we find the rest of the council and Kaidan he points his gun @ Shep believing Udina over you Thane steps in front of Shep perpairing to fire @ Kaidan but Shep stops him. Thane seeing the familarity betweem them gets jealous but stands down. Shep or Kaidan shoots Udina then Bailey with Garrus and company (or whoever you had on your sqaud:) come up to help. Thane and Kaidan share looks XD. Afterwards Thane can be found in the embassies angry @ Kaidan for being an ass. He tells Shep tht Mordin helped him with a treatment tht would prolong his KS, wishing tht he could thank Mordin again and saddened by his death. He thinks it unfair tht he died while Thane lived. He causiously asks if Shep and Kaidan were intemate. Shep can tell him tht they were but tht is in the past and tht she wants to be with him. Either way he wants to be @ her side cuz she is the reason tht he wanted a second chance. Also he gets a new look! I hated tht they cheaped out and had everyone in recycled clothes > I was thinkin tht he got like a thicker coat and boots since this is a war you know more of a heavy look to him but still lookin sleak. Maybe something like Ferons coat in Mass Effect Remediation but with a shorter tail? But his earrings stay (hehe always loved those on him:))Yay! Lol I have some more ideas I wrote down but there pretty long.
Anyways thts my nerd rage no one make fun of me for itXD.

I'm not sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong please becasue my mind does all sorts of wacky things when a game you like so much for years ends up showing a middle finger at your face ( in more then one category), but one of the older scripts that got leaked and also removed pretty fast did have an alternative ending for Thane ( Udina coup). It didn't invole him dying, but basically being saved by Shepard ( if I remember correctly, you as the player could take an interrupt which would result in Thane being saved ). That being said, he was saved from being wounded but not cured of Kepral's. Anyway, Thane at least survived the coup. I'll try to dig that old leaked script up unless I lost it in a mass of data (not the dialogues but story centered one)

I think Bioware is aware of the situation due to all the protests and dislikes of their fans but I have my doubts why they might not respond to fans and their/our disappointments as well as ours/yours ideas and advices.  I know that admitting you made a mistake could be a lethal blow to one's ego and pride (especially the companies one), people may get fired, organization looks bad and thus avoiding to fix anything seems like the best solution. I can see fixing Thane's content that is directly implemented into base game would hurt one thing they are doing the utmost to protect and that is their pride. Due to all the interviews given that's exactly what happened with „demands“ involving better endings. But I see no reason why problems centered around Thane romance couldn't be simply fixed by an add on, DLC.

I still have my hope since I am aware that Thane fan base is much larger that the one on BSN.
Though it is a bit strange to see that from that huge pre-me2 thread with all the speculations and fun times, everything from content of discussions, to quantity of people being active in Thane thread has changed so much. Never the less, there's a lot of people out there who share the same opinion as those who post here do, as we here all do (no matter how often we delurk ourself and slip back into the darkest corner with the best view).

Actually, it's much better than what we got from ME3 writers. And Thane as a squadmate...
wonderful. Can you imagine that? The whole game would benefit so much from this. I wonder what would he tell my renegade Shepard about allowing geth to wipe out the quarians or sabotaging a cure for genophage. What would he think of Javik? Hell, I think all LI's should be on board the Normandy, so that you could talk to them about those things. That is why ME2 was awesome and also that is why ME3 is such a let down.Letting Thane live and giving him at least one mission as a temporary squadmate is really not much... in fact we shouldn't even ask for this, because that's what should have been there in the first place.

Your very lucky to have a brother who supports you I have 3 who are looking at me weird lol!

I  know there are some guys who support us and understand what we are doing and I am totally thankful to them for the support...but yeah there are guys who think we should bend over take it up the rear and get over it....that's not gonna happen! Let's keep fighting girls and bros.!
