It's one of the reasons I like Thane so much- a deep character with interesting story, someone that you can feel connected to and someone who makes you stop for a while and think about the things he says.

@Vik3

I haven't noticed anything wrong with your English.
(Then again English is not my native tongue so I could be missing something)

(Psst may I ask what threads you are talking about? I'd love to see the suggestions)

And ah, yes... "ragdoll physics"... Getting Emeraldfern's sides to hurt from laughing since time immemorial.

I had one case during the fight with the Praetorian on the Collector Ship, and Thane was incapacitated while in cover. Oh lord his pose was *ehem* "compromising" enough for me to get so distracted that I got a "Critical Mission Failure" XD

Thane can be very distracting... :D

Here's the link Which characters would you most like to see make a return via DLC and how...
I was thinking on ways to save Thane so that people wouldn't complain about it. It could be for everyone, not only those, who like Thane and let him live through suicide mission.

PS My nick is with "L" in the middle ;p It's a name of character from one book I liked, who could turn himself into a wolf. (I wanted my nick to be Valkyrie, but decided to make it shorter)

Thanks for telling me, I guess it's not that bad then :)

Oh, sorry for the nickname *derp* Vlk3!

Ah, that thread...I forgot to post my own suggestion in it oops...

I like your suggestion btw.

I struggled to make a suggestion of my own a while back.

It was a suggestion for a treatment mission, not a downright cure (even if that's what I personally would like to see), because some may not want a downright cure, but rather, a way for Thane to live through the ME3 events and leave the epilogue to head-canon.
And that's an entirely fair compromise imo.

The main struggle I had when writing it was to make it appealing to both fans of "Le tragic death" and survival, and in addition, make it interesting irregardless if they are Thane-bros or Sihas. It also featured hanar/drell husk enemies.

I wanted to make it appealing for those who want him dead too. Now that I think of it, I would add something about a life expectation for Thane with this treatment- just a few months, before it starts to be not enough to keep him in good shape. After a player would get that info, he can convince Thane to get that treatment if he is loyal and if player has a high paragon/renegade score (romanced Thane does not need high score to be convinced). The fact that it could only prolong his suffering could be enough of a reason for player to choose not to convince Thane and feel it's the right thing to do. Therefore, even those who believe that Thane should die could be happy... I guess.  But you never know with the people, sometimes they'll keep fighting every idea, just to make others upset. I'm thinking about way to make Thane a squadmate and still give him an option to die heroically, so that even the worst trolls could be satisfied.
A romance with Thane still wouldn't be all sunshine and bunnies after that, so 'tragic romance' theme remains here. And there is a hope.

After thinking about it for some time, I am convinced, that BioWare could come up with a DLC that would sell very well and would satisfy every fanbase. It isn't impossible and now I'm sure I'm not delusional, we are not asking for something that couldn't be done.

I know that this is hard, I made my second Thanemancer's playthrough recently and this was very painful. Really, a game shouldn't be like that.

I had said that, because I relate to him personally.  ME2 is my fav game in the series, and among my top 10 of all time.  Talking to Thane in ME2 was really poignant to me.

Simply said, had this girl friend.  Was killed years ago. Changed my outlook on all things.  Took some philosophy in college, and love space and cosmology.  I guess its a part of me that continues to seek answers. So I try to keep myself occupied to not think on past events or dwell. It was depressing. Frustrating.

I continue to study those things, and meditate at times (buddhist IRL).  She was gone a year before ME1 came out.  Think she would've like it.   So yeah let Casey Hudson see this and know that his game can mean many things to different people.   Since I'm tired of seeing the same negativity and hate from the ending controversy,  I wanted to say something positive.  :)

So thank you bioware.  Mass Effect was the first series to make me shed actual tears.  You can't say the same for a COD game lol.

@vlk3 - Sorry I didn't respond to your thread; your english is excellent.Posted Image  You did a very nice job with your DLC ideas.  I love reading people ideas for DLC, FanFiction, fanart, ect.....  I was actually going to post in that thread as well, with my idea, but I feel like I have posted it in multiple threads already, that it might be taken as spam...HA!Posted Image The fact that multiple people (who are NOT in the gaming industry) can come up with plausible ways to make an option for Thane, shows that it can be done.  Whether or not it ever is, doesn't reflect on it being possible (storywise).

If you are interested in reading it, @giftfish has a LINK on her Romance DLC thread (which is where I originally posted).

@Bushido - Lovely sentiment, and truly sorry for your loss.

Emerald, those are amazing word art poems. I don't know if they're called something special or not, but you came up with some great poems. Not normally my type of art, but wow.

And Vlk, that seems like a valid DLC storyline to me. I'm sure there are lots of possible storylines that BW could come up with if they tried. I mean, they have space magic, and the geth curing the quarians in just a generation is pretty magical to me.

That is a Awesome idea Posted Image .....would Bioware even consider these kind of ideas? I don't know it seems options were pretty much thrown out the window in some parts of this game and it was more catered to men then it was for both sexes...we'll just have to see!

@ bushido effect  I'm sorry for your loss!

EDIT: I sound so mean today...I'm just upset! All we are asking is for options to save/cure Thane what  is so hard and complicated about that?......nothing!

I blame BioWare and Thane's treatment in crushing my happys. I tried to make Thane videos and they always ended up sad....no happy ending there to be seen. My daughter is coming home tomorrow and I wanted to surprise her with a Mommy made video for her. I thought it would be great to make her a nice video of one of her favorite vamps but well, I got BioWare'd. It started off happy then it skewed to the vamp's death scene interjected with memories of him and his girl. I bet I make my daughter cry. Yeah, I blame BioWare for my inability to make a happy video for my own daughter.

For this, I am requesting that BW kindly fix Thane's romance so that I can go about being joyous again.

It seems i'm not the only one unable to finish ME3

http://www.eurogamer...d-mass-effect-2

More than five months after Mass Effect 3 was released, only 42 per cent of players have completed the game.
That's less than Mass Effect 2, where 56 per cent of players finished the final mission.

BioWare online development director Fernando Melo revealed the player data during a talk at GDC Europe today. Mass Effect 2's completion rate even got a boost this year, he added, as players readied save files to import into Mass Effect 3.

@Renmiri - Nope. Your not the only one. Never finished the game. Only got a 1/3 of the way through the game, and YouTubed a few things (including the endings; also did that for the EC). I got the game on March.6th, by 8pm March 7th I was done (threw my controller...heh; such a child.). On March. 8th I had the game packed up and sitting BEHIND other games/dvds on my shelf (kind of an "out of sight, out of mind", thing....).

I admit, I have not finished PLENTY of games in my 43 years of life. BUT, when I have completed ME1 four times, ME2 seven times, and have "yet to be completed" play throughs (meaning I absolutely intend to finish them) in both games, the fact that I can't even finish ONE game in me3, says something. At least to me. :(

The game is just too damn depressive when you don't have the character you like at your side.

I wanted some from ME2, what I got is a dinasour lover and a sex bot.

I agree, they could/should have treated the ME 2 characters better! I know that Garrus,Liara,Ashley,Kaiden and Tali have been around since the beginning but that doesn't mean everybody considers them as their favorite and it doesn't mean you treat the rest of the LI's any less!

There are fans of Thane,Miranda,Jack,Jacob etc. you make those fans happy not pissed off and depressed! I know and understand some people are not happy about the treatment that their ME 2 LI's got but at least their LI is still alive (Thane) or have not cheated on them! (Jacob)

Dawwww!  they certainly are!

I'm one of the 42%, I completed the game because I felt I had to see it to the end after investing so much time into the first two (it was torturous).  I expect there are quite a decent proportion of players who did the same.

I have not played anything ME since (aside from gathering screenshots).

I completed the game. Kaidan hijacked my Garrus romance. It's a good romance, but nothing and I do mean NOTHING tops the date with Garrus. That was well thought out, well written and perfectly executed. Why the hell was that writer not doing Thane?

And if my fever is only 101.5 f, why am I shivering so bad?

Sorry you're unwell!

I guess that Thane never got quality because the team decided they were going to shaft his story so there was no point... dicks.

Thankyou for sharing this. And I really know what you mean, RPGs with such a brilliant storyline and such vivid characters can really effect you personally. It may be set nearly 200 years in the future, but there are so many correlations with current day life.

And the characters, although alien, just feel so real. Thane is so complicated, and despite that, I feel that I can understand him, I can empathise with him. It really is a sign of excellent writing.

And Shell, I really hope you get better soon!

I've only been able to finish ME3 twice. I finished ME1 about 4 or 5 times and ME2 about 8 times. I tried to do a third playthrough for ME3 and just couldn't. I had to try and force myself to do half of that third playthrough before I just gave up. I just have no real interest in this game. I have never lost interest in a game so fast.
