Well, the results for Thane are bad.

I think my good mood is now gone...

They aren't bad.  But, they do show a split in the community.  They aren't "overwhelmingly"  one-sided like some are.

But:
--More people want a cure than don't
--More people want to recruit than don't
--Most people weren't satisfied with the quality or quantity of the romance
--Most people want his death recognized, want FemShep to show more emotion, and want more scenes and dialogue.

Those are all VERY  positive.

The split is a result, I  think, of the people that didn't romance him, and to them Thane's death in ME3 was handled ok.   Which, was something we (and BioWare) already knew :)

Also, only 1600ish people in the survey said they romanced Thane (3rd most common male LI  behind Garrus and Kaidan), but many more than that answered certain questions about the handling of his death, so those responses are coming from people that didn't romance him.

ALSO:  Many people who didn't romance an LI, didn't answer the multiple choice questions.  BUT, they did make comments.  The Survey Comments document is where it's at for tons of additional information.

Chin up, they are positive.   Just not as clear cut as say, Miranda.

I didn't think things looked that bad for Thane in the survey either.
I think the point was made that we were not satisfied with the romance and that most of us do want an option to cure him.

And that if Bioware does anything, they need to retain the current treatment, and provide the OPTION for romancers/loyal friends to save him.

These results underscore that in a serious way.

I'm sure a lot more people would romance Thane if they didn't already know what happens to him in ME3.

Lol, yep!  Comments show that, actually.  Same with Jacob.

giftfish, I'd like to believe that it's good, but it looks not the way I expected. There are more people that want him to be cured, but in fact it seems that his fanbase is splitted in half. There was 31,5 % that wanted a cure and 28,6 % that don't want that. I can only hope that some of the non romancers answered that way. If not, that means that almost 50% of romancers want Thane to die..

The result of the question If people want him to be a permanent squadmate is also dissapointing. Even if someone does not want him to be cured, having Thane as squadmate and then let him die would be a lot more than we currently have. But it seems people don't want even that.

Apparently some people cannot imagine a scenario where letting Thane live and even join the crew would be well done and satisfying even for the non-romancers.

Anyway, thanks for working on that and posting that survey. :)
It still shows that there was something wrong, BioWare cannot ignore that.

No. That's not what it shows.

If you look at question #18, you'll see that 1,618 people said that they romanced Thane.

Yet almost twice that many people answered the questions about curing his Kepral's and recruiting him to the Normandy.

It was not required that you had to romance a character to answer YES/NO  to LI-specific questions.  Indeed many of the people that answered Thane's questions, DID NOT romance him.  In fact, any question that had over 1618 reponses, which is....ALL  OF  THEM.

Edit -- not trying to yell, just trying to underscore my points, lol.

That's how I saw it.

Anyone could answer any question so a lot of those people who didn't want him cured probably didn't even do the romance.

The important thing is still that more people do want an option to save him.

Well, that changes a lot. I didn't notice there was much more responses than romancers, it makes things a little better. I just hoped for more and that's why I'm a bit dissapointed.

Yeah, it would be nice if EVERYONE wanted to save Thane, but we already know that they didn't.

What the survey shows is essentially most people that romance Thane want to save him, and the non-romancers are split on whether they want to save him.

That's still a very good portion of the playerbase :)

I can't see the survey, I don't know why... the links aren't working for me... when I click on the links the page redirects me to another page with google drive ads. What can I do? T_T

That's weird. I wonder if it is overloaded, lol.

I'll try to check on it, but I know people have been downloading....

EDIT:  Keep trying.  I can tell there are people viewing both right now.  MIght just be a glitch on your end.

It seems cool but I think I need to see it from inside for seeing all the customization options. I will install it later ^^

Might be something with your version.

Definitely take a look at the theme.  It seems "Thane-ish" to me :)

On Thane comments:

"This ball was dropped so hard people in China were finding it and were confused"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wonderful job on the survey, I agree with you on what you said earlier, I'm sure a lot of non romancers want to save Thane, and most of the people who answered "No" didn't romance him or even tried to understand what's wrong. Because, like you said, everyone can answer every question even if they didn't romance him. I didn't romanced Jacob but  I voted and commented on his questions.

Also, I like to see it this way. Not only in %, but looking at the numbers. In a total of 8.928, 2105 want a cure, but that is not a bad number. Because if you look at the number of people who don't want a cure, you can see they are only 1909, that leaves the rest on 4914. 4914 People are undecided or don't have the proper information to answer this question.

That's why I think we need to keep fighting, because, a few months ago, I'm sure there wasn't 2105 people supporting an option for saving Thane, here on BSN a lot of people were attacking us because they were against a cure, but most important, a lot of people didn't knew what happened with Thane, because they didn't romanced him or simply don't care. But we did our best exposing our points, talking with everyone here and on media sites, and fighting with trolls and saying the same things again and again. And yes, sometimes they were against us, but a lot of them also took the time to read our posts and understand what's happening.  We have achieved a lot of little things since march, maybe a bit unnoticed, but people changed their minds, and I'm sure we can achieve so much more. We just need to keep fighting a little more :)

@Serenade

^This.

Combining the projects we have done so far and the figures on the Survey, I'd say we've def. made an impact. We should keep making impact if you know what I mean. ;)

Well, I've finally finished reading it, and plugging it on da and fb.

The results are... not unexpected. I agree most of them are promising, but I'm still pissed by those who think he doesn't deserve to live in any playthrough. *sigh*

Thane? Chase my blues away, please?
