@Dineboo - yup. I figured that was the case with Thane and Jacob. I had actually started a "from scratch" M!Shep in me3 back in March (while also running an imported F!Shep, who of course romanced Thane), and saw that Thane is considered gone/dead/missing/never existed. Hell, in a "from scratch" new Shep in me3, there are NO drells....cuz that seems good....<DOH!> O.o >.<
Thane Thread 'It's difficult. All things worth keeping are.' Spoilers will be neck-snapped.

@Julia I've read the whole thing and wow!![]()
also when I read the renegade options and the conversation after you failed his loyalty mission....ugh it made me cringe bleh! I would never pick those choices and fail with his mission....although it is true that the dancing turian gets your attention lol!
My video project? Well it's going but...very slowly and still trying to figure things out...I had to get some footage of *sighs* Thane dieing..not fun but it's what I had to do...and it reminded me of how sexist and cruel BW is...Ha I said it again! >
.
Yeah, failing to help his son pretty much destroys him and sends him on a downward spiral. He really ends up feeling like he has nothing to live for.
"My body's acts in this life are tales never to be told. When I'm gone,
it will be as if I'd never lived. So I ask you: what is the point? The
dark between the stars is enormous."
^ Sadly, that bit of unloyal dialogue practically defines ME3 Thane, imo. Whether he's loyal or romanced doesn't matter it just seems like he's given up. All his character development is ignored and it seems like nothing Shepard did had any effect on him. He was just there to die and be forgotten.
You have an iron will to go through the death scene again. It still amazes me how badly they botched it. You'd think they would have put some more effort into the forced death of a beloved character, but no. The fact that he's a LI was brushed aside compleletly. He was a FemShep exclusive LI though so (like Jacob) that makes him expendable in the eyes of BioWare. It's definitely sexist that BioWare thought it was no big deal to scrap two of FemShep's relationships while MaleShep keeps all of his options. I definitely think that should be pointed out. I look forward to your video, Roxy.

I saw a video of that on Youtube a video on if you fail Thane's LM....let's just say I vowed to never watch that video again lol...it was depressing and sad! I'm just now thinking I might have to do some footage of him dieing in the game ME 2,don't think I can do it though lol....meh I might not have to have that....but if I do well like Jack says "Take your balls out of your purse..." lol!
Btw I'm sure this doesn't matter but I might not be around later this coming week because a Hurricane is coming our way...I'm not sure if it's gonna hit where I live but alot of people have predicted that it is!
Just pray for us please,I definitly will be! Thank you! ♥

@Emerald. Yeah, that's what a beta does, along with proofreading and editing and all that jazz. And I'm pretty damn sure I left half the stuff off the list.
Just saw the new FemShep pic with the Kasumi dress and: yes, I think that one works. What's up with the colours though?
@Hisilome! YAY! I'm gonna go read it now!
@Julia. Oh dear. I've always hated that dialogue. Writing the original draft of the Unloyal Thane secion of Whispers I replayed that scene over and over and over again. I gave myself the most gods awful headache crying when I watched it.
I agree too, it does summarise ME3 Thane. It's like that's the only pt Hepler did so he didn't know anything else could happen. *facepalm* >.<
Thanks for the dialogue reference too! Do you have one for ME3 yet? It might be easier for me to have that printed out so I don't have to torture myself with the death scene yet again. *cries*
And we need pictures and it's been a few days since this one was up so....

I get it!
I think most, if not everyone in this thread do. Or have I missed something?
btw *BSBH* Squee!
@myth
Ah yeah, I figured that's what a beta is.
Well, I'd only need a beta to discuss fic-concepts, I fear of my fic heading into "Sue"-territory otherwise.
Proofreading I'll do myself with a little help from dusted off CAE course books, and an Oxford dictionairy.
So it's not so much the actual text I need help with, but rather the idea behind said text.
So if anyone is up for helping me out, it would be most appreciated!
As for the pic, *derp* on my part; on my own comp, the pic looks fine, however on my parent's comp, it looks way saturated and bright. My guess is that the .png's alpha channel is messing with the brightness (I forgot to turn the alpha channel option off in 3dsMax when I saved the render as a .png).
I'll post the images again (with the alpha channel removed) when I have access to my own comp again, and start a poll* for them, I think I have spammed them a bit too much in this thread. Sorry everyone!
*Poll is up! Check below!
Oh and myth *BSBH* to you too, and good luck with the essay and the other fan-works you're helping out!
@Julia_xo
Hi! *Waves*
Long, time no see! Welcome back!
And yay! Voice references! Very handy for any type of fan-work, thanks for sharing it!
@Roxy
Damn! *Crosses fingers and hopes mother nature is favorable*

I had went into Gibbed and made it where Thane(and Jacob) are dead. There names showed up on the Memorial Wall.
Visit the Citadel after recruiting Garrus, go to the hospital and there's Thane shadow boxing! I hurry back to the ship to see if I got a e-mail from him like I got in my normal playthroughs and there wasn't one. Checked Gibbed again and the Thane is dead box is checked.
So weird...I don't even know if it's a glitch.

Several weeks back, I opened a thread on the French BSN. A guy there told me about another french forum dedicated to video games. Thus, I've opened a new thread on that website.
The debate there is far more intense than on the French BSN. There are people that agree with us, people who use irony as an argument ("Yeah, let's change Star Wars, I didn't like Anakin turning into Darth Vador") but overall, it stays nice and polite (I'm quite surprised).
Some people are very supportive and show a true interest in the campaign, even if they didn't romance Thane

Thane quoted Thomas Hobbes (the first sentence).
"When all the world is overcharged with inhabitants, then the last remedy of all is war. Which provideth for every man by victory or death.
As Rakhana died around them, my people slaughtered each other for mouthfuls of water... crumbs of food.
Our homeworld Rakhana had few resources. We hadn't even developed fusion power when the soil began to fail from overuse and pollution. Overpopulation. That must sound trite to you. Humans developed mass effect drives before the problem became acute."

Thanks. I was wondering about what he said after reading a post in the MP forum about what the BSN would look like if it were real life......

Not soon enough. I didn't realize so many people had nothing better to do then to talk about a character none of them really care about.
