That's exactly it!  I've never rejected him (I just can't!) so I have never heard the noise. 
And you are absolutely correct - I did a little "quick breath in" when he said "I'm dying".  Nooooooooooooooooooo!

I already knew he was dying before I played the game. I just played it for the first time this summer. I always read strategy guides and watch walk-throughs and end up spoiling games for myself. Thats why when ME3 comes out I am going to try my best to play it right away and not spoil anything.

I do the same thing, except all the time now.  Extra funds are hard for me to come by so I might as well see if the game's worth the $35 - $60 plus dollars.  My friends call it weird, I call it research.  Not even ME3 is safe from my spoiler addiction.   

I knew Thane was dying too, but after seeing him in action I kind of died a little inside myself when I heard him state it.

Cure for Thane in ME3 please.

I knew he was dying also from reading spoilers, but that's all I knew. Everything else was a surprise for me. I'm not sure I can stay away from spoilers this time either. I just have to know what is going to happen to Thane. I don't want to know everything that's going to happen with his story, but I'll probably just spoil myself a little.

I'm trying so hard not to spoil anything for myself, but you kind of have to spoil a little bit just to survive the game. In ME2, I have no idea who could have survived the suicide mission with no casualties without spoilers.

All I'd like to say is...If Thane's appearance in Mass Effect 3 is anything like Kaiden's appearance on Horizon in Mass Effect 2, I'll be totally bummed.....

I don't think they'd do that though... at the very least, the VS had to survive the events of Mass Effect 2, so when I think of it that way... well they'll definitely be back in ME3.

But if ME2 romances get treated in ME3 the way ME1 romances got treated in ME2. well... there's not going to be another game where they can make things right.

lol great image RomancetheGame. I think thats what I was trying to say earlier. I don't want his appearance to be "hi fangirls I am here. Goodbye." Or even "Hi I'm here. Now I will sit idly in one spot after a one minute long cutscene for the rest of the game."

I doubt Thane's getting the "VS in ME2" treatment.  This is the last game so his story should be concluded. 

I've got a few questions for everyone:

What do you think will be done to continue and conclude Thane's romance in ME3?
Do you think Thane will he be easier or harder to find/re-recruit this time? 
What do you think his purpose or mission will be if/when he joins Shepard?

I'm expecting speculations here but why not.  ME3 news has been pretty dead recently anyway. 

(Yet another cure thread full of haters has cropped up.  Self-restraint is very hard.)

What I hope will be done, is expand his relationship with Shepard. So, a few more conversations with him, that DON'T talk about his illness. MOAR DRELLCHEST. Go to Rakhana. Go to Kahje (but only to maybe pick up a cure or see where they are on the cure work), but leave Thane on the ship because we don't want to complicate his condition. I want to flirt a bit, like the whole, "Friends? That's a start." T: "A start? Thats... intriguing." I want to see his sense of humor, he does have one... oh, and please, let us pull down the zipper....

As to his mission, with a  romanced Shepard, his purpose or mission with Shepard is simple; to remain at her side and protect her with everything he is.

@Asenza - I agree with the zipper And more dialogue/flirting would be great. Not just "hey we flirted" - end of discussion!

I don't think they would do another Horizon with the Thane, but if they did I would be more than a little upset.

That's how I survived the suicide mission. I wanted to make sure everyone survived so I had to find out where to send everyone. I just wish they had given Thane something specific to do.

You're welcome.  Thane acting like that was normal and Garrus' "hunh" reaction made me lose it.

That's also what I was wondering too.  If Thane is loyal or romanced, even if he isn't on the Normandy, he may be keeping tabs on Shepard while staying close to Kolyat.  Given Thane's profession it might've been better for him to disappear.

When I read that my heart just cracked. So I think now since I read that, I got no clue what will happen now. Maybe everyone will die? Even Shepard. Or everyone comes out with a happy ending, like ect ; Shepard & Thane. ; Hm. Well ME3 is going to be one very interesting game, more interesting then ME2.
