*Phew* Finally finished a Mass Effect  rap video I was busy working on. It was a lot of hard work! I thought I'd share it with you guys since it stars the ME2 crew. Really hoping you enjoy the thane part of it ^_^ I know I did.

Mass Effect- hustlin'

If you could spare a like or comment that would be fantastic Posted Image

@Hyrule gal That was cool! I especially liked the one you did with Johnny Cash's "GOD's gonna cut you down" song! ^^

Thanks ^_^ Glad you liked that one too!

@Hyrule - Very nice job. Unfamiliar with the track....don't know much hip hop/rap. *head tilt*

Haha that's ok ^_^ To "hustle" is to earn dirty money or do illegal jobs. Shepard can do lots of shady side missions that have nothing to do with stopping the reapers so it seemed appropriate Posted Image

That's my shepard.
Mappeli at DA did that for me. She's a great artist and captured exactly what I wanted for my shepard in the game but didn't get.
Would this have really been so hard for Bioware to do.

That's a really beautiful pic and it is spot on with the tone that I expected between Thane and Romanced shepard...

It would not have been hard for BW to give us this if they'd curbed their greed for two seconds to pay attention to the fans.

It annoys me so much that rather than catering to those who were invested in the character, they chose to cater to those who didn't really care. If there had been a choice to save Thane there would not have been 300 page threads protesting about it because those who valued him 'going out like a boss' would not have saved him and ultimately they wouldn't have cared enough to say much about it.

Giving us no choice with Thane was a monumentally stupid decision and I am still aghast that BW thought it would be acceptable.

That would require them to have put some thought into Thane.. They obviously didn't GRRR

@JECW - Thank you for commisioning a beautiful piece....and for giving us the name of the artist (I couldn't find it listed on Tumblr). Editted the post to show artist and your Shepard. :)

@Annie - So very true. Generally speaking, most people are very accepting of choices, if choices were always given from the beginning. I am still completely convinced that if the choice had been available from the start, the majority of people would not hold issue with Thane's POTENTIAL life extension/cure. But, because it was NOT given, there are some that rumble about the idea of an option being added. It's as though they feel they need to justify why they like what was given. Problem is, they don't need to. They can still LIKE what was given.

Look at a polarizing character like Anders in DA2. You can't stop him from blowing the chantry, but how you react to him can be different. The fact is some will always murder/knife him, some never will. And still others will always tell him to GTFO. Then there are those that will try ALL of the options. Why?? Because they can.....because the options exist. Because they like to RP all kinds of PC's. This helps expand replayability. Whether you like DA2 or not, the fact that the options are there for your Hawke to react to, is still generally what many Role Players are looking for. Hell, I can even imagine some Thanemancers and Friends of Thane who would play BOTH options for Thane's fate, had they been available (or if they are ever implemented....hint, hint.).

Bah, I'm not sure I am making any sense right now. Bad nights sleep and not enough coffee. :P

I don't think bioware ever thought what they did to Thane and everyone else in ME2 was exceptable. They just simply didn't care.
We spent most of the game getting to know these characters to only have them tossed aside in the next game. What was the purpose of ME2 if nothing we did in it was going to matter?

@coldwetnose
You are welcome for the information. I wish we had gotten something like it in the game.

Okay people watch out I'm in a "BioWare don't give a crap about their fans" and  "My patience is running thin" mood today lol!

I have to say if they had given us the option in the first place it wouldn't be like this at all,one of the ways that they can redeem themselves is to add an option in a DLC which we are gonna have to pay for...it should be for free since they screwed us over...and it should be the same for the Jacob fans if they fix that mess also....but if I have to pay for it....fine I'm okay with that, I'm just saying.....

And tbh I wish somebody from BW would say that they are gonna fix this mess they made with Thane and Jacob.....I know wishful thinking..I'm just getting tired of being in the dark and guessing everyday "Are they gonna fix it or are they not?" I mean you don't do that to your fans...screw them over by not giving us an option to save Thane, cure him, have more conversations with him and a better romance scene and also have Jacob cheat on Shep ...and then screw them over some more by not telling them if they are going to fix it or not!!!!!I'm royaly pissed off!!! Posted Image

Btw that's a Beautiful drawing of Thane and Shepard! ♥

You know what I think? I think they thought they could get away with it. Why else have Thane die and turn Jacob into a cheating douche? They felt the femShep players wouldn't make a fuss and/or they'd be overshadow by the broShep players.

It almost worked. Look at the poor Jacob fans. They're pretty much off the board. Thane fans are told to get over it because he was dying. But guess what happened?

The abomination of the endings. If ME3 ended with fist pumping ending where your choices mattered, all the complaints about Thane and Jacob would be moot. After all, Shep saved the galaxy! But since they went to "artistic integrity" the ending brought all the dirt of ME3 to surface, particularly how they treated the ME2 characters.

As my playthough for science showed the game plays better with Thane and Jacob dead, which is funny because Jacob is alive by default. There was no reason they couldn't given Thane and Jacob "Jack" type missions, but I guess they figured femShep's LIs were expendable, and put more effort into make her lesbian.

@DineBoo... well we know that young men love some hot lesbian love... it is sickening that they no doubt present the SS options as demonstration of how forward thinking they are. I do appreciate the inclusion of the SS choices but am under no illusion that the female SS option was as much about catering to guys strange obsession with Girl on Girl as catering for their LGBT players.
The treatment of Thane and Jacob clearly shows that they are actually looking backwards in terms of gender equality with male shep having many more options than Femshep. It stings all the more that they achieved this by taking our existing choices away. That they seem surprised that we were affronted is insulting in itself.

@coldi ...I usually murder knife anders, but I love that I don't have too. I was disappointed by the lack of choice in DA2 (leandra, changing anders from his path)... little did I know what was to come after. :/

@mnomaha I'm in full agreement with that article, the statement from EA is just further confirmation of the rot that destroyed what was good about BW, their priorities are messed up, rather than making the best product they can in confidence that it will reap the profits to further the company they insist on fitting in to demands of those with no creative vision. They try to maximize ways to hoodwink the audience into paying more for less, multiplayer microtransactions are a favourite... where's the integrity?

Integrity....well, when it comes to that, EA has none and bioware is quickly following that path, whether intentional or not. Sad, sad days...

Fantastic article. 100% agree.

EA can take MP and shove it up their you-know-what. If I wanted to play with my friends, I'd play WoW, GW2, etc.

I play SP games to have some "story time" by myself, and if there is any MP available for the same game, it certainly shouldn't come at a cost or have implications to the SP experience.

Hi all! :) I've been following these Thane threads for a while and finally decided to borrow my brother's account to get to write here (with his permission, of course).

Sooo I have no idea if this has been discussed here before, but... Yesterday I found a Thane/Shepard music vid with a piece of dialogue I never heard in ME3. I googled one line and ended up in a Polish ME forum. There was a lot of what seemed like cut dialogue between Shepard and ME2 squadmates (here's a link to one of the posts: http://www.shadowbro...97d595522#p3342). I wonder if that's really cut content or just something fanmade?

I'm sorry if that has already been discussed, but it was new to me, and I was kind of shocked to think about how much more we could have had in Thane's romance... (Yep, I wasn't satisfied with his ME3 romance either. I really hope BW will fix it!)

Hi There DragonSlayer63's sister? Its pretty poor that BW restrict who can post on these forums so much, I'm intending on buying future BW games second hand so will probably struggle to post on the forums - does purchasing a MP code give access on second hand games?...sorry I'm rambling

... back on topic, I couldn't find anything about Thane following the link. From what I heard about the leaked script Thane's role was cut quite a bit, but it is not clear whether they considered giving an option for him to survive (I strongly believe that there should have been an option). What did the dialogue say? do you have a link?

@wildannie Yeah, I'm his sister. :D He doesn't post here much, so I guess you can suppose it's me whenever I post under this account.

Hmm, the link should take you to a post with dialogues under spoiler tags. If it doesn't work then I guess I could copy-paste the dialogues here. I just can't find spoiler tags here, and the text is so long. >.<' *embarrassed* Help, anyone?

Hello everyone,
SO The new dlc sucks. Heeh knew it didn't buy it didn't offer me jack. I got more from Miranda's bad rubbing experience than ME3. Also took part in that sevy a few pages back. Was wondering why Samara's fight scene with Morinth wasn't in there, nor her intro, nor her outfit design, nor her angelic beauty, nor her throwing the biotic bubble energy out at the end of the long walk (should have been in there for most bad@ss sexy scene.), nor the best female romance, I mean the near kiss scene beats all the other female romances combined.

Ookay I'll stop. hahahahhaha, I voted for lots of Thane, Thane intros, Thane character design (Jack was MIA? WTF?), Thane best male LI, Thane best bulge, (Samara best cleavage), Thane best this, Samara best LM. (Sorry had to be hers, it waaaaaas way better than Thane's no offense.)

Oh also gonna admit this to you all, I didn't pick Thane as the best Male Voice Actor, I was torn between Anderson and The Illusive Man, in the end I went with TIM. Martin Sheen just brought him to life and played such a great role.

I hope you all gave, ssssssssssooooome love to Maggie, as best female voice actor. If not I'll just go get sticky with the blue blow up doll. WHAT? I brought it up again, I had to been forever since that's been mentioned.
