I think it depends on the relationship between Shep and Thane.  My FemShep, although much improved by ME2, was never exactly the type who could pull people out of their shells.  She and Thane respected each other, but it never went beyond that.  For her, his death scene was tragic but fitting.  Mourn a fallen comrade, but almost immediately move onto the galaxy that needs saving.

My ManShep (once I get to ME3) is super-bros with Thane.  He is going to be furious, devastated, and the short treatment of Thane's death in-game is not going to come close to covering how pissed he'll be.

Of course, the Kai Leng fight is terrible no matter what

And this is why (well, one among other reasons) I couldn't finish even one of my play throughs. My very first play through was with a custom M!Shep (always make a male PC and female PC at the same time). Just so happened that I connected better with my first M!Shep than I did my first F!Shep (I was really green on the story/background, and she didn't turn out like I thought she would from the CC), so he finished way before her. Which meant that my first time meeting Thane was with my man Shepard. I was in awe; and I didn't even know he was romanceable yet!!! O.o

My Abel Shepard really connected to Thane, and I honestly felt (and this is a VERY green run through) that he wanted to live. New friends, new purpose, and most importantly - reconnected with his son! All good reasons to get busy living, not busy dying. And of course, he made it through the SM. Then when I finished playing my Cate Shepard (who romanced him), I was COMPLETELY convinced his life would be extended/saved throught the entirety of the trilogy. Damn I hate being wrong....and for all the wrong reasons! (wrong because story lines were ignored and character arcs were disregarded.)

Still, I really do not have a problem with the idea of his potential death....so long as there were other possible outcomes for him (and the Drell race....after all, Kepral's is not a 'Thane' only disease). But alas, that isn't what we got. *droll sneer*

I feel like I have said this all before. hmmm......................................................

I did have a great trip coldi! PAX was a lot of fun. Though I think I actually prefer PAX East. So next time, I'll probably head there again. I didn't have time to make a proper Thane t-shirt before I left so I wasn't able to wear it =[ Next time though! I'm determined to start on my list of Mass Effect crafty things! So only 3 more cakes to make then I am taking a break from them.

Oh and yes, I had lots of good coffee!!! =D Though I like the Starbucks frappuccinos better over here... =P

I hope nobody misunderstood what I said up there with the pic...I changed it of course,I just meant that I like the pic and agree with what it says,to me either if your Thane's lover or just friend it isn't that Great both ways....I mean to see your lover die without having a chance to save him and if your a friend...well you think my Male shep wants to see his best bro die...no I don't think so!

I really hope BW will give us that chance/option to save him in a near future DLC! If not Bye bye Bioware!

I completely understood your meaning Roxy...'tis all good.    The post I made is based on that very idea; his role (and subsequent death), doesn't work for a romanced Thane.  But, for me, it ALSO doesn't work for a friend!Shep.  Again, only my opinion (and I explain it in that post above).  Though, I think we have all found there are others who feel the same way.

Well it's cool that the nieghbors think you are insane-er. My neighbors probably think I AM INSANE TOO, I mean heheh I'm sometimes awake till wee hours of the morning and burst out laughing while browsing the web, they probably don't like it if it wakes them up. But ehhh could be worse I could be a dick and all but I'm not. I don't blast my music before 9AM and I don't blast it after 6PM. 

I'd like to blast it nonstop most the time. 


Also NOOOOOOOOOOO, Samara isn't elderly heh she's roughly 800 some years I could marry her, and still have kids with her, she's not elderly, I have no guilt about saying I'd eat her cloths off  I'm proud of saying that and I'm proud of saying that after eating Samara   out of her cloths,  she'd become the main dish.

@Ghost1017   They should have given us an option in the first place for Thane , that's one of  the things that was Great about ME you have choices to make but that was pretty much thrown out the window in this game! I wouldn't wish death for Jacob for the Jacobmancers...even though he was least liked....doesn't mean he didn't have any fans and you don't screw over the fans that's just plain wrong!

@Roxy - glad to see that BroShep feels the same way. Never could bring myself to play male characters if there's a choice, mainly because I usually don't do more than one playthrough, so I try to make my first be the best for me. But I think if the genders were reversed and Tali or Samara had the same problems, I'd want an option to save them, even if I were FemShep and their friend. (Sorry, just can't care so much for Liara and Ash)
