Anyone seen this yet? http://www.computera...n-development/#

Edit: to fix link

That is interesting, but I would be a little worried about liking a character that gets dumped again.
I don't want to go through this again with any new ME games.

@Beanie - Hey you! Yup, seen it. I think I have no opinion at this time. :/

Same.  It's funny--I used to have an opinion on just about everything BioWare did, usually positive, sometimes skeptical.

The thing is, I got at least some semblence of an ending and closure out of ME3, with some headcanoning of the ending.  I'm done with Mass Effect, or least done with Shepard's story.  And I'm not sure I want to see more in the franchise, because at this point I just don't know if it'll be worth playing or caring about.

Re the new BW Mass Effect game, I'm just not interested in it right now. They effectively killed the universe for me, unless you go for the destroy ending, and even then...meh. I don't want to go into the past and play something because I know what's coming. Unless they go way back and we all play Protheans, but that doesn't interest me either.

I'd rather pin my hopes on DA3.

Oh, and Gears, biscuits and sausage gravy is one of the two best breakfasts ever invented by man!! Nothing is better on a lazy Sunday morning than making your own biscuits and sausage gravy. Yummmmmmm!!

Agreed. I don't think I could will myself into buying any other game from BW again, I don't want to go through the same situation I went through with Thane. And I don't want to support a company who does this kind of crap to their fanbase unapologetically.

@firel yeah I agree it would be very hard for me to even consider buying a game from not just BW but anything with Mac, Mr horse teeth smile H, and a few other names. I mean after ME3 and the way it was handled and we were treated, nope. They all have no respect and value for their fans. They may think and say they do but they don't.

@askeebe indeed it is biscuits and gravy are heavenly.

@Coldi thanks for fixing my laziness, I probably really should properly fix it but right now I'm eeeh lazy.

@everyone HELLO, and there sure is several newer faces in here, I just wanna know how come our passion isn't shared by the powers that be? Do they think us so insignificant that we can't possibly do anything to them? To their careers? To their company? To their reputation? Do they really have that huge a head and feel that they can wipe their @ss with a kind estimate of 65% of their fanbase and think that their career will be perfectly fine?

Because sometimes all it takes is one person to crumble an empire. I know the answers to them questions

To be fair to BioWare, there's minimal overlap between the Dragon Age and Mass Effect teams, and they seem to take different approaches to the fanbase.  The Dragon Age devs are much, much better about getting on the forums and talking to fans.  Allan Schumacher, David Gaider, and Mary Kirby are particularly active--Allan's technical QA, and Mary and David are writers for DA.  It's not to say they don't make design mistakes too (look at DA2), but they're much more responsive.

They might be different teams but there were a couple of comments re:Thane that came from DG that didn't fill me with confidence that he wouldn't do the same.
ME3 made me feel really bad at the time, so how can I care about anything they do when as far as BW are concerned what they did to Thane and Jacob (fans) was okay?  I'm certainly not forking out money or investing time in playing games that are going to leave me feeling empty, sad and conned.

Link to comments?  I has a curious.  David Gaider has a thing for tragedy, but at least his is usually well-written.

Also, I might just be an optimist.  I like the DA devs, and I'll keep my happy hat on for Dragon Age unless DA3 goes the way of ME3.

DG's comments were on a twitter posting, while he was playing through me3. Not sure who still has the saved twitter posts (pretty sure someone does; I saw the copied post here, since I don't have a twitter account). One of our fans (and it may have been Cosmochyck) tweeted to him about Thane, and that was when he responded about liking what happened. Can't remember if Jacob was mentioned as well.

You are right; he does like his tragic characters, twists and moments. Generally (so far) he has tempered that with sweetness, and most importantly, options. However, his reaction to Thane is what caused much of us pause. Like Annie, I won't play a game that makes me feel bad (and I am not talking about emotional rides. It may differ from person to person, but I know my limits.). If I believe any game will make me feel bad in general, I won't play it.

I am still very interested in DA3, and am cautiously hopeful. However, I never pre-order till me3. I will NOT do that again. Wait, read, watch, and if signs are good, buy.

Fair enough.  But one twitter comment doesn't necessarily mean he'll pull anything like Thane in DA3.  David does feed off our tears, but usually in a good way.  If that makes any sense.  It probably doesn't make a lot of sense :?

Hey coldi! =D I don't really have an opinion about it either. I'll definitely not be pre-ordering it or getting excited about it like I did with ME3. I'll probably never play it, but that depends on what happens between now and then with ME3 I guess.

I'd like to say that I don't have an opinion on either DA3 or a new ME but I do. There will be no anticipation or pre-ordering going on over here. I will wait until the fan reaction to decide if they are worth playing. Regardless of fan reaction, if I get another ME series with Liara on a pedestal I will just not buy it...even if it is called the best game ever.

Sorry for double post

Like I said in the earlier post I agree with what firel said.....but if they do give us the option to save Thane and not turn Jacob into a cheater if romanced, give us some extra time with our ME2 LI's I would give BW another chance and would buy their DLC's...and maybe buy their future games!

But if not....well lets just say I don't want to be another customer who get's punished again for not making the right option or LI I guesss I should say! Posted Image

Annoying posts about how awesome Thane's romance in ME3 was  I get so tired of reading that crap.

Ya know, you'd think I just walked off a plane to a new land. But I swear, something really odd is happening on the BSN. I have been lurking here for a few years, but only signed up last year. I have seen my fair share of.....good god, I don't have the words for it, so we'll just call it "diaper rash".....on the BSN, but in the past few days it has taken on an unnerving forefront to the threads. Checking out the me3 Story and Campaign section, and the new DA3 section has just depressed me. Yes, I realize that the average age on the BSN is probably well below my age (and ME does SEEM to have a younger average age poster than the DA forums....just a guess based on those that have made privy their ages). But the frightening thing is, I question how they are learning to be these type of people. What influences are guiding them to believe some of the crap they are spouting. And when the hell will they grow up and take responsibility for themselves.

I'm probably not making much sense right now, but I just don't feel the need to link threads that I find so cringeworthy. Hope that those threads just die and fade away. Ugh. I think I need a bit of "out of sight, out of mind" for a bit.

Sorry for the cryptic rant folks. Drellickers and Friends of Thane, have a beautiful day!

Happy Birthday Roxy! :)

I'm not interested in new Mass Effect game unless they'll cure Thane. And also I'd prefer a sequel that would make destroy ending canon. But this is propably impossible, I suspect they want to create a prequel or something similar to DA2 and that is too bad, because I would like to see the future of this wonderful universe... I love Mass Effect, even the hate for ME3 can't destroy that completely...but it almost did.

It seems that someone has acknowledged that there are a lot of women playing Mass Effect:

https://twitter.com/...222838555803649

'More than any other game series i've worked on, Mass Effect sure has a huge number of female fans. That's pretty darn fantastic. '

This is a good sign I think. Or maybe I'm being too optimistic today.

I wouldn't call some hallucinations a downside of dating Thane..or any drell. That must be addictive though. Maybe sometimes a little troublesome...but the priiize...

*points to Dragon Age*  I think they're doing better on the gender equality front, not only in terms of fans, but in terms of female writers on the team, providing plenty of eye candy for both guys and gals, etc.  Though Mass Effect is still better than a lot of the games industry.
