*points to Dragon Age*  I think they're doing better on the gender equality front, not only in terms of fans, but in terms of female writers on the team, providing plenty of eye candy for both guys and gals, etc.  Though Mass Effect is still better than a lot of the games industry.

I replied to him

@GambleMike Well then fix ME3 for females please. Just count the LI you gave fShep vs the ones you gave mShep. And fShep het LI can die :(

Re: DA3:

Idk. Honestly. I have no real opinion on it. I suppose a part of me hopes for the best, if not for the fact that I personally may or may not play it, but for those who love the DA series.

Jeebuz...

(I will not post in that thread...not post...gah! Must resist!)

"Romance content" Pfft...

Yeah, people who regain the will to live go back to "I'm dying. Did I tell you I'm dying? Yes I'm dying." in the timespan of 6 months.

And the one who loves said person who just regained the will to live after ten years, suddenly go "Ok, that's chill. Hey, good thing you're looking out for my ex, who I admit with shame, I used to love, despite that my current lover was completely honest about his wife".  /sarcasm

Yeah, I hear ya coldi.
Wheras the actual age doesn't necessarily correalate to behavior, maturity and experience does.
And there is more often than not a lack of the latter. One often fails to realize one's priviliges in life, heck, even I've made my fair share of that mistake.

Now, I realize that my own background (and experience) inevitably has coloured my perception re: Thane, but that certainly doesn't make my view any less valid.

Sorry...I had a bad day, so if that was a bit on the "ranty" side of things, I apologize.

@Roxy

Aw, Happy B-Day!
May it be filled with drellicking goodiness!

And I just went "bawww" over that pic :)

And, unless people find it obnoxious, I'll give you a small update on my ME1 playthrough with mum:

*We have just rescued Liara and returned to the Normandy*

Her: Geez...Kaidan doesn't get along well with Liara does he? That was a bit uncalled for.

Me: Well, he's a bit apprehensive towards Liara I guess.

*Talking to squadmates, Liara's first up*

Her: O.o Oh, so that's how the asari work. Aw, but that thing about her parents :'(

Me: Yeah, it's a bit sad.

Her: Oh dear, Liara really isn't used to being around people is she? She is adorable when awkward though.

*We talk to Kaidan*

Her: Oh, so that's where he's coming from...Wha..wait...What was that? He considers Shep "beautiful"?

Me: I guess we have an admirer.

Her: Oh... :3 <--- Goofy face*

*Then it's Garrus turn*

Her: He really tries to do good doesn't he? Yikes, he gotta keep that "ends justify the means"  mindset in check. But that's what we are here for! Shepard to the rescue!

Me: I...guess that's one way to put it.

Her: It would be shame for an honorable guy like Garrus to get clouded by that kind of thinking. I hope he doesn't stray too far from the "good" path.

*/That ":3" face...I recognise it from Fable 3. *Sigh* Elliott...I smell a hint of a love triangle brewing... :S

Hello thane Thread. a few weeks ago I promised hat in my story "Guns and Poems" I'd redo and properly protray Thane's character and make people recognize his sacrifice and efforts against Kai Leng and his eventual death from his wounds. I think I've delivered, I hope it meets whateveryone was expecting from the actual game from unromanced Thane.

@Emerald - Okay, I love your mom's play through of ME1. :)

As for the weird rant I made, it wasn't about the link that Annie posted (I was still writing when she posted, and didn't even see the post in question....heh!) No, my rant was about a couple of other threads with some very narrow minded (and that is putting it mildly) "diaper rashes"....again, just for the lack of a better word. that won't be heavily censored. :P The vitriol from those threads was some of the worse I have seen here in a while.

Bah....I need to go grill some meat and drink a bottle of Merlot. Ignore me, I am being overly sensitive today.....this too shall pass.

@Roxy - Happy birthday. And keeping track of how old you are just gets harder and harder. At least for me. I'm somewhere in my 40s, and that's all I care about now. Besides, getting older is better than the alternative.

@Emerald - I like reading your game updates with your mom. I love hearing her reactions plus yours.

Garrus!  Garrus!  Garrus!  *fangirls shamelessly*

Though actually, I really like Kaidan now.  I used to be down on him, but he was such an awesome bro in my ME3 playthrough.  I <3 him now.  Not looking forward to him dying in my ManShep playthrough.

Hmmm.. Seeing Thane double in pain and then turn into a Harbinger clone ? :crying::?

Well.. If Thane is being kept alive and cured by nanobots inside a repaer lab I'm game. We can then go bust him out of there like we did with the Normandy crew on suicide mission :D

That is what I wanted to hear!
If he was my shepard's romance I would have done something completely different where he lives and is possibly cured, but for unromanced I can see that as a good ending. He did say he prefereed to die in battle rathr than as a patient in a hospital and I HATED that Garrus says "Good thing nobody died today" if you save the VS. THANE DIED JERK. so I had Shepard call everyone to Heurta to honor him because he deserved that for his heroism. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it even if it wasn't a cure. I got right and that's what matters to me.:wizard:^_^

@ADLegend Thank you for honoring him in your story...he didn't get much of that in game!

Ikr? It sucks when your LI dies without an option to save them and then to top that all off....no one mentions Thane at all... even when you haven't romanced him too! *sighs*

Anyways thanks again that was very good!

My FemShep wasn't as close to Thane as my ManShep was, but she pretty much just locked herself up in her room and mourned for him in private since apparently NO ONE ELSE GAVE A DAMN :pinched:

Save it for the mages and templars :P

It was the same during the run-up to DA2.  It's always the same.  There's all this crap in the forums, then the game comes out and everyone's off playing it instead of complaining about it.  Except ME3, that one blew up pretty fast after release :pinched:

HA!!!!

I'm talking about replay value. I don't like One-time playthrough DLC(s) but rather have one-played through Pargone and another Playthrough Renegade.

It's what i've always done with ME1 & ME2. I even had Wrex killed. And for all those that know me I'm the biggest Wrex & Zaeed fan out there. But even I wanted to see the different aspects of Consequences when making decisions. As you know the only real major decision in ME3 from what I saw was the Tutchanka Missioin.
Wrex / Wreav / whether we saved Mordin and the Data or not.

so the same goes with the idea with Thane. I love to see in a renegade playthrough for those who would make the Hard-Choice (ME:devil:)

to me it'd be bad****$

@Seifer006 -- Definitely agree with you on the re-play value factor. Replay value is a good thing, and having the storyline play out differently based upon renegade/paragon, friend/LI, or both is also a very good thing.

I have an ME2 play-through where I went renegade and chose not to romance Thane (my only one like that, lol), and it floored me a bit how Thane just shut Shepard down after his loyalty mission. Completely changes the dynamic for the remainder of the game, and of course alters how his loyalty mission turns out when you don't use the paragon interrupt.

I'd have no problem, for example, with rengades having the option to kill Thane in ME3, while paragons friend/LI would have the option to save him. Would certainly add another interesting dimension.

I've always wondered, too, how many of the "you knew he was going to die" hate-boys out there typically play renegade, which like I stated above, has a pretty dramatic impact on how things are "left" with Thane once he basically no longer talks to you.

@Seifer    Okay okay I get it now....that would be nice to have a Paragon (save Thane),renegade (Ugh kill Thane,or not save Thane) option on there...if that was there I would always go for the paragon way and save thane though...even with my renagade femshep lol! Posted Image

I remember back when I played ME for the second time. I was going to have Ash survive Virmire, I was sure of it. I chose different dialogues on Virmire and she ended up shooting Wrex. It shocked me as I was not into checking for spoilers. I liked flying blind in my games back then. Btw, for that stunt I changed my mind. I left Ash at the nuke. I was playing with Sheploo, so I had to hook him up with Liara.

One day I will play ME again and if Thane is not fixed by then well I'll give him an honorable death on the collector base. That way I can spare him the lonely days staring out the hospital window and the sad little dialogue about how his body is falling apart.
