I don't know if you guys have heard of the Cosplay initiative on FB but here's a small recap:

The idea behind the initiative is to get the VA's/face models of ME to cosplay as their respective characters. So far, Mark Meer (Male-Shep), Jennifer Hale(Fem-Shep), Steve Blum(Grunt), Rana Mcanear (Samara) and Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan) and Kimberley Brooks (Ashley) Courtenay Taylor (Jack). And...they just announced this:

How to write Thane in the ElderFuthark:

(The letters Th are transcribed into one letter:ᚦ)

And thing is, each runic letter in the Elder Futhark (the runic alphabet I used) have an esoteric meaning when used for runic divination.

And for more fun, the esoteric meaning behind Thane's runes are the following:

ᚦ : Thurisaz (Th:Thorn or Giant): Reactive force, directed force of destruction and defense, conflict. Instinctual will, vital eroticism, regenerative catalyst. A tendency toward change. Catharsis, purging, cleansing fire. Male sexuality, fertilization.

ᛗ : Ehwaz (E:Horse): Transportation. May represent a horse, car, plane, boat or other vehicle. Movement and change for the better. Gradual development and steady progress are indicated. Harmony, teamwork, trust, loyalty. An ideal marriage or partnership. Confirmation beyond doubt the meanings of the runes around it.

@Emerald - Fantastic Thane Tour material!! And a gorgeous render of your Ivy and Thane. As for the Cosplay stuff....HAHAHA!! I LOVE IT!! I think that is fabulous....I cannot WAIT to see pics of this. As for Keythe dressing like Thane.....yummmm! Besides, you ever notice that he has the same mouth/chin area as Thane (suspect they did model that after him, but don't actually know that for a fact).

Re all the discussion about shep having the same experience with characters if they're LI vs friends, I think that's more of BW writing themselves into a corner. They did 2 games and created a lot of branches in the story. With ME3, they created even more story with exponentially more conversation possibilities based on previous choices, and LI or friends. I remember a BW staffer saying the amount of recorded lines was incredibly more than in ME2 and that's -with- a lot of the same conversation choices. They might just have exceeded their ability to write a good RPG 3rd story.

Oh sh!t not sure if I got to this but I wanted to say it (not sorry I'm hijacking here for this either!), Askeebe awwww it melts me black heart to know people appreatiate it and to say it has such great grammer too!!!! Okay been clearly working on that for sometime, my grammer and stuff. Thank you thank you thank you.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday Musing is up on the Cosmic Love site.

I got the same feeling re-watching that Buffy episode as I got watching a certain Beverly Hills episode with a cameo of none other than Farley himself. Sure, it was a very small role but I still ROFL'd. (And boy it was weird to see Farley black-haired)

That render took quite some time...I think my comp clocked 2 hours rendering it O.o
I was actually afraid my comp would overheat while rendering. :/

Thanks for reading, Sable.  I would say pretty much all of them act a "bit" isolated (especially at certain times), but some seem more so than others.  I have posted in a few fan threads where if I am even acknowledged it is with...hmmm...caution or a rhetorical question.  Like I stated though, I think for some it is merely tunnel vision (responding to who/what you know, and unconciously ignoring the rest), or in a few cases it's a defense mechanism (protecting their fandom/domain).  Most of the isolation simply comes from people simply sticking to the fandoms of their favorite character; not really exploring beyond it....that's all.  And that is completely fine.  Nothing wrong with only reading an posting on threads pertaining to that character/or certain characters.

OK, I follow.  And I'm definitely guilty of sticking to certain threads.  Mostly Garrus and Thane, occasionally poking into the Miri thread.  The wild west BSN out there is scary, especially General Discussion

We all do it, to a certain extent. Hell, look at the the General discussion threads or the Story threads; I see some posters in there that I have never seen post in the Character threads. Even THEY have their comfort zones.

New Character Spotlight up on the Cosmic Love blog site.  It was going to be Thane today, but I guess the guest blogger got held up.  He may be Saturdays character, but not sure.  Anyway......<ridges>

Yeah, me too.  I was actually going to write one for Thane today (there was a few hours yesterday when the Admin heading up the column thought she wouldn't have anything to post), but then the blogger who was already doing a write up for Liara, finished hers.  So, we went with that for now.  I need to look at the schedule again.  I am hoping to get Thane back on the roster quickly (either by me or the two others who are/were interested in blogging about him.)

Not sure how many ones are in the block waiting to be posted however I do know about one that is finished and pending an okay,

As for fan bases overlapping, I used to be super tight with many of the Jack fans, a few Ashley fans, and some Kelly fans, also am pretty chummy with a Zaeed fan, (on tumblr.) and then when Ashira decided the ME3 pain was too much and sorta had nothing much left to say, well the Samara thread dried up and lost the life blood. I'm not gonna lie she was the life blood there, and I know I'll never be able to be the life blood there, Warlock tried to be the lifeblood but it was so so, not like Ashira. 

I knew the days of that thread were numbered and the content had started to lack and fall off the regs stopped showing up, and I was too depressed to go in there. So considering I love Thane like him and Jack are tied in 2nd place for my favorite characters, I popped in here and was taken in, and warmly welcomed too. Thank you all.


I tried to visit the Jack thread but it was too sunny and happy there and made me sad because of how happy Jack fans were with the little bit of great stuff they got and me, I waas sad. They were nice there just I felt like I was a drain of their postive upbeat outlook and they were bringing me down too because I was depressed at lack of Samara, lack of Thane, lack of so many great characters but you people here were so very active and had started so many of those great projects from the get go, the LIA projects, the book and PAX letters. So I figured I'd be warmly welcomed by you all, and man was I, I haven't left at all. Thank you all.
