Oh yeah, that's one nice back.
As for Zevran, yeah he was low polygon, but he was a low polygon ZEVRAN. And I have absolutely NO problem with pixelated giggity giggity. We're all mature women here, and some of us are single, why not have some fun while we can.
And I know those DA:O scenes were kinda awkward, but the MOD's SOOOOOO much better!
And now that I'm back and not lurking anymore....
Thank you for my birthday wishes everyone! I know I posted a quick reply but I was running late for an appointment and couldn't post what I really wanted it. Funny thing is, that appointment turned out to be nothing more than a clerical error. *grumble* If it wasn't for that appointment I could have been in Brisbane. Sipping cocktails at the symphony, or the theatre, or at the Mana Bar freaking out the Brisbanites and Yhatzee Crowshaw with my epic Thane fangirling! (That would have been so much fun, but I bet I would have been banned afterwards. ^^)
I got as presents a pack of Derwent pencils I helped pay for ($182.90 for a 72 tin of coloursoft pencils. DAYMN!) and one of those InStyler rotating hair irons so hopefully by the time my high school reunion comes around my hair will not be revealing it's natural Cousin It tendencies.
I wish I would win the lottery too. then I could pay for Bioware to make the DLC.
Oh, and gears. You're a mean man. That wonderful fic you posted made me get tumblr! How dare you! ;P
As for the toolkit, I heard that it was illegal for them to release a toolkit for the Unreal 3 Engine since they don't own it. Which would explain why we haven't seen one and why we never will.
Oh, Ithieldil! I real your latest chapter! So wonderful but I was REALLLLLLY hoping for the reunion this chap, but the reunion between Thane and Kolyat made me cry. So wonderful! Sorry for not posting a comment on the page yet. DA and my interwebs are still being ****. Need to get my ass into gear and just switch companies already.

I've seen the mods, even tried some of them out. And while it's better, I still have to cringe. And laugh. Like I said, though, it's probably just me since all porn seems to get that reaction from me.

Hi everyone! It's been a while!
I've missed you all!
Ohh Zevran mods! *drools*
Ehrm I should install ZRS (I haven't done so yet) methinks :3
And...I'm reminded I should make a "sister-piece" to a painting depicting my Shep and Warden, that depicts Thane and Zevran. Give me a moment and I'll dig up a scan of that painting...
Re: Modding
Yeah, from what I gather, exceedingly difficult. Not only is it difficult to assemble the mod, but the real difficulty would be to have the game recognise the mod. Txt mods are easy enough; basically, you tell the game to load a different texture file. But adding new models, scripting, cutscene editing. Complete mystery. As far as I know anyway.
Hm I was going to say something else beside technobabble...
Ah! I'm currently sketching up character concepts for my headcanon, and so far I've made Miranda, and Samara is WIP.
I'll eventually reach Thane, and the question are the do's and don'ts. Not that there is anything wrong with his current get-up, but having some variation can't hurt.
There will probably be two/three concepts per character, one casual (to be used on the Normandy and hubworlds etc), one "light combat gear" (think, light stealthy, more urban warfare), and lastly a more "heavy combat gear" (In Thane's case something akin to his alt. appearance). So basically, thoughts and brainstorming from fellow Thane fans!
Oh and....a small update on the ME1 playthrough:
Mum has completely forgotten Kaidan's *derp* on the Citadel, and is now fan-girling, going:
"Aww! Look, we've got an admirer!
Heh, her reaction on being able to flirt with Liara (Remember she's the one choosing the dialogue):
Me: Mum, you just flirted with Liara.
Her: Oh. Oh, I see. Wait, er...what do we do now? Kaidan's not going to be happy about that.
Me: Well, it'll resolve itself later. So long as you're certain which one you'll choose.
Her: Kaidan! :3 Sorry Liara, not this Shepard!
The PT is taking a bit longer than expected, because we had to replay Feros.
Stupid Ethan Jeong requiring a high level of Paragon....*sigh*

The only problem that I have now is... I just don't know who to choose. Alistair or Zevran? Zevran is great and all, I adore him and so does my Warden. But she is a greedy person and she also likes Alistair. I want her to stay by Alistair's side and be the one that is really in charge of everything in Ferelden. See, my Warden wants to be as powerful as one can be (she's an elf and a mage) and for that reason she needs Alistair. Right now she's just sleeping with both, but I have to make her choose at one point. So...staying with Alistair and assist him in ruling over Ferelden or seeking adventures with Zev... it's a hard decision. Both ways so tempting...
In DA:O there are so many good choices that I just can't decide what to do. In ME there's only one LI for my Shepard and there is no way to make a choice that would affect him in ME3, excluding letting him die in ME2.

I love them both! I went with Alistair in my first playthrough because he fit better with my mage, and Zev in my second with my city elf. So it's more about this--what would your character do? Besides, you can always replay the game and bang the other cute guy
Though I will admit a slight preference for Alistair because I have a terrible thing for scruffy blondes.

Zevran wins in my book.
But then again, I make no secret of being biased towards elves.
Even more so if they can crack lecherous jokes!
Alistair's "Have you ever licked a lamppost in Winter?" is priceless though. XD
So I definetely understand the dilemma at hand!
My Fem-Dalish rogue always ends up with Zevran. But for Alistair I've got a Lady Cousland.
Morrigan gets a pragmatic Amnell, and Leliana gets a mischeavous Brosca.
And DA2...I've not played that one yet. Given my bias for elves and my fangirling over Balthier, I'll probably end up being a Fengirl. I'll probably have a Hawke for Merrill too, since I find her adorable :3

@Sable, I would say go for Alistair, is your character's power hungry. I made an elf mage for my first pc pt, and thought about making her choose Zevran, but she ended up going for alistair. She was a bit of a doormate, and a goodie two shoes. She also lived even though she planned on dying herself so she wouldn't have to live without Alistair! *weak ***** but she did kinda fall into a relationship with Zevran, only she didn't realise it. She broke his heart, the ****.
my second pc pt, a dalish elf, hooked up with Zevran. She's been screwing him everywhere she can. (thank the gods for ZRS) She'll fall for him, I think, but take the sacrifice, leaving him all heartbroken and alone. Still like her better though.
As for DA2. Fenris (female mage), Anders (male warrior), Anders (female rogue), and now Fenris (female mage - now with Templar support). Like fenris the best.

What I love about Zevran:
"Arr! Pirate Zevran reporting for duty. Prepare to be boarded."
And he's an assassin, and I guess they're just my weak spot. Thane, Zevran... and I adore Leon the Proffesional, but not in the same way.

Oh god, I nearly died when I heard that one for the first time!
@myth
He can say it as a random line when asked to your tent.
Sadly I have no video of it
Heh, my Fem-Dalish elf warden is so messed up it's not even funny.
She means well, but things always hit the fan. Always.
Even after being forced out of her clan, she still feels a great sense of duty towards the Dalish, and tries her best to represent them in the "outside world".
As such, she has no problems working for a bigger goal with "shemlen", but she won't give up who she is, her beliefs etc. So, she'll help the Grey Wardens, but she won't say, recieve Andraste's blessings et al.
Plus, it's always fun to troll that cleric in Ostagar
Warden: "No I don't want Andraste's blessing!"
Cleric: D:
At the same time, she's an emotional wreck, she's only recently found out the true fate of her parents, Tamlen (whom she had a crush on) disappeared, and subsequently, died by her hand.
And in the midst of it all, she meets Zevran. Someone who is just as "lost" as she is. And things lead to another. At first it's just a "friends with benefits" kinda deal, but eventually it leads to love.
She's confused about Alistair though. She regards him a friend (even if he's a human) and doesn't want to hurt him. But she ends up doing that more than once. Oops...
Seriously, I trolled Alistair so hard on that PT, stringing the poor fellow along (partially by accident), dumping him in favour of Zevran, making him king, and then to top it off have him do the ritual.
Poor Alibear! Fourtunately, he gets a lovely Lady Cousland for queen in another PT so it evens things out.
[Edit] Sheesh, my writing skills went out the window today it seems.

I have decided though to do something I never do in these games. I have decided to make....um...me.
*grimace* I know some people prefer to play as a PC that represents themselves....similar appearance, choose every dialogue option as they personally would, ect.... I never really do that. The closest I have come was mimicking some of my personality traits, and choosing some of the more moral based options, on what I would do myself (not all, but some). And I have never tried to make a PC look like me. I was born with red hair, so I do use red hair often, but thats about it.
Since most of you have seen pictures of me, I will post the results of my attempts in the CC's. I plan to do one Shepard (I will try in both ME1 and ME2, to see which looks more like me....besides, since I currently have 3 Shepards at various stages in the game already, I will probably only do an ME2 run.) One Warden (haven't decided on HN or Amell), and one Hawke. Beyond the physical, I suspect that my play style in dialogue choices are going to be all over the map. I think what I will do, is literally only choose what reflects my mood that day. *cringe* I think my Sheps, Wardens and Hawkes are going to end up appearing bat-sh*t crazy!
I suppose I should finish up a few games before I try this, but I still think I might do all the CC setups. besides, I haven't sat in the CC's for a while; sounds like fun!

Heh, recognise the feeling.
I usually don't try to mimick my appearance in games with CCs, but my Dalish Warden eeriely looks similar to myself with her green eyes, pale skin, and reddish-brown hair (her hair is way shorter than mine though; My hair reaches my thighs), although I have no tattoos whatsoever. Then again, I did tweak her facemorph slightly in the toolset. So she was not created in-game technically.
Funny thing though; none of my 7 Sheps look anything like me. The only thing that is similar is Ivy's eye colour and love of green armour/outfits.
As for personality, hmm... Ivy shares a few traits of my own, but she's far from "Emeraldfern in space".
Lyna Mahariel, on the other hand, is more self-insert than Ivy; her love for burlesque humour, unwillingness to let the outside compromise who she is, and her sexuality, are three traits I've pretty much self-inserted.
It wasn't entirely intentional at all times though, more like:
"Hmm...she just did this...Hey, wait, that sounds like something I would do. Oh well."

I'd try (and fail miserably) to be Paragon, because I'd end up being too gullible.
Plus, I'd annoy the hell out of the SR-2 crew.
As for the ME CC...yeah that would be difficult, if only considering the hair style options. None of them are long enough for me! XD
(If there was one, it would be model-clipping-fest lol)
And after digging through my folders, behold, my Dalish warden who does have a few similar feature to my owns:

(I forgot two details, I'm a rather short person, so stature-wise, I'd be closer to an elf than a human. And the rounded chin is somewhat close.)

I'm a short little Asian girl IRL, which doesn't really work for modelling my characters after me in BioWare's RPGs (Jade Empire worked great, though). But my CRPG characters do tend toward short as well. Except my Hawke, who's very tall and blonde, and my Dovahkiin from Skyrim.
And because I like pretty pictures, here's my DA:O mage:

"Go into the Fade and face a crazy demon? Psh, old man, that's nothing. Brb."

@Sable - your mage is darling! I love that hairstyle on her.
Hmmm...I had a shindig to go to this evening, but I worked on an ME2 "me" right before I left. Uh.....yeah. Not so good. Biggest problems are the eye to eyebrow ratio, and nose. I have worn my hair in sooo many styles (colors, cuts, ect...) over the years, that I am not terribly concerned about hair style. And believe it or not, the auburn color is pretty close to what I have right now. But the nose and eyes....yeesh! So, I am off to my desktop, and I am going to try DAO and DA2. BTW, I suspect I might have better results in ME1 (it seems like the CC is a bit more extensive in ME1). I am going to start with DAO, since I can get directly into the CC. I am 5'8'' so, I am going for a HN or human mage. Not that that really matters, but I am just not delicate enough to pull off 'elf'......HA!

So I gave myself a challenge (started it in the Thane thread) to actually make "me" in ME1, ME2, DAO and DA2 (cuz I never have). Yeaaaaah....that ain't going so well. Tried ME2 first; ouch! I came out "special". Tried DAO; apparently I think I look like Amy Adams. So I ditched that one, and ended up with Kristen Dunst. Bah! I figured, fine! I'll try DA2.....ummm. I look like "Wendy" of well....'Wendy's'. >.<
XD
I'm too tired right now, but tomorrow I will try ME1, though I have about zero confidence I can pull it off. Seriously, how do some of these people do it?? How do some manage to get at least a partial resemblence to themselves with these PC's?? bleh......
....and a little Thane art, cuz that's always good....
