That is true. But I don't see why the Alliance wouldn't allow him to be around Shepard. Do they have something against Drell? Or is it just Thane himself since he is an assassain?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because the trial might be a strictly "human matter". At least, that's something you'd expect the Alliance to do.LiveLoveThaneKrios wrote...

Or, they simply want Shepard alone.

If he isn't there maybe it is because he is getting some kind of treatment. Maybe he is spending time with Kolyat. I just can't think of any reason why he wouldn't be there if he isn't. I guess we will have to wait until the game comes out to see if he is with you or not. If not I hope they give a good reason and not something that doesn't make any sense.

I agree that I don't think Thane will be in awful condition - perhaps not fighting condition but not too worn down. And I hope hope hope that there is some kind of treatment/cure for him!
I'd also like to find him lying in bed....*wicked grin*
I doubt he'd stray from from Shepard either - she's helped him so much and if not for them, then at least for his son to show that he's amending all his "wrongs" by doing good deeds now!
@ Fiery a couple of pages ago...those lines from Thane are just gut wrenching.

I know! He is almost suicidal. It truly takes an extraordinary person to go through all that and still be willing to do good.Cosmochyck wrote...

Compare that to the opposite, that is to say, successfully completing Thane's loyalty mission and romancing him. Two completely different versions of the same one character. I find this nothing short of fascinating.

I agree, Buut.. if Shepard and Thane are a .. couple, they should allow it even though he's not technically human. But that would also make since if they want Shepard alone also.
@ JECWSU
I would hope that too.. or else they are like Ashley and are being racist's against people aren't human. But it does make since that they wouldn't let him in the trial , since he really isnt apart of the Alliance.. so maybe they'd want the main people on the Normandy there..like Joker.
Those 2 options are probably the only ones that would make since to me. Like I said before Thane hasn't spent much time with Kolyat.. only a little bit in his Loyalty mission and after it.
Ugh..these are going to be long months until the game comes out >.<
( And my apologizes for the late reply. -.- )

By that same tolken you could say Tali's only unique because of her weak immue system. So Thane dies because someone saw fit to build him with a terminal illness (in addition to his already tragic and troubled past), but every other LI lives happily ever after? Why is Thane the one that gets singled out? Just saying SOMEONE needs to suffer isn't good enough.
I said that Thane's illness is 'part' of what makes him unique - as is his soft sexy voice, and his olde worlde gentleman manners

It's not that someone needs to suffer either - more that no suffering would be unlikely in the extreme. Shep finding a cure for Thane would be cool, except for the fact that we are playing a game about the possibe extinction / perfection of every species in the Milky Way. Possibly as a side quest... Though I can't see Thane being happy about Shep taking time away from saving the galaxy to cure one person - especially if that person is himself.
Thane's life won't be perfect if he gets better. In fact he's going to have quite a bit of "making up" to do if he does.
@Fiery
You make a great point. Whether or not you complete Thane's loyalty mission really affects his outlook. I'm hoping this will play a role in ME3, regardless of romance. I don't think it would be very fair if only Shepards romancing Thane get a chance to keep him.
@51ha
Thanks for clearing up the time line thing, but still. Perhaps that has something to do with the timing of Thane's recruitment mission?

Oh I get it. There was also that intenseness to his voice when he said, "I had to reach her first." For me also, if you watch his face when he says, "I must confess I've come to care for you" he blinks as he says it but really really slowly. And he pauses slightly, "I must confess I've... come to care for you." That+plus the slow motion blink is just sooo.... Thane!

I agree about the voice. He sounds almost excited when he talks about how she was pushing him and challenging him. I do love Thanes recruitment mission.
I love when he tells Shepard he cares about her. It's so sweet. I also love the holding hands after. I did pick the other option about not replacing his wife just to see what would happen. I reloaded that very quickly. I felt so bad for him after.

I think that he'll be with Kolyat, and I hope that he has gained access to an effective treatment in the mean time so that his illness is no longer terminal. I would prefer this to having a side mission of this type during a galactic war.
The ME2 team could have a plan in place to bust Shepard out if he/she is convicted and imprisoned.
@RCG_Ines - I don't think Bioware will do 'a horizon' with any of the ME2 LIs, I'm sure that they will be working on the assumption that a large proportion of the players have never played the first game and care nothing for the VS, and little for Liara when compared to the ME2 squad. They owe a satisfactory ending to all the ME fans not just those who have played both games (I have played both games btw
@Asenza for me, Thane is just so well done ...design, personality, manner, expression, and ,of course, that voice...

If Alliance confiscates Normandy everyone on board would be arrested, either for being Cerberus or for accessory to Shepard’s crimes. And from some demo footages we know that no one is at the trial since Shepard escapes to the Normandy with Anderson. And on the Normandy there's probably only Ashley/Kaidan and that Vega dude. You probably go pick up everyone else after that. I hope we can choose who first or that Thane is available as soon as possible too. I also think he is probably with Kolyat and that he is already “not dying anymore”. Shepard wouldn’t let herself get arrested otherwise. And yes JECWSU is right he wouldn’t leave her side either...unless (and that was my point) he is already fine.
I was trying to explain that they would have been together until he dies and Shepard would surrender after he passed away so they could be together those few months. But since Thane is apparently alive something else happened. Now they either broke up (I’m kidding) or he is not dying anymore.

That expression was just.... dear GAWD WHERE'S THE PARAGON INTERRUPT HUG?! Tali got one!
Paragon interrupt hugs for ME3. For everyone.

I second that! All of the above mentioned scenes are great - but which ones aren't when Thane's in them??
I really like the look on his face when he says "a start?...that's intriguing" - that hint of a smile, and those big eyes...and he's looking up at her - dreamy!!

Call me pesimistic, but I hadn't too much hope in Thane developing for ME3. At last I try to not have it. Why? Becouse a few things. First thing is, that we will get new companions again. Well at last we know one-Vega, and it looks like for now he is No. one for BioWare. Second thing is a feeling, that BioWare is heavy focused on VS. They are talking about " cheating" things a lot, about Kaidan/Ash importance in ME3, that theirs relationship with Shepard will have heavy impact on story...I know, maybe it's becouse Horizon mistake, but it still worry me. Third thing is, that when we started to talk about companions from ME2 in ME3, BioWare told us, that now companions will work differently than usual, so maybe all of them but Garrus will be only available for certain part of game. Will BioWare find a time between developing new companions ( and new LI, becouse we will have it) , s/s romances, Kaidan/Ash issues make less popular characters come back in really epic fashion? I want so badly be wrong, and Im still waiting for any news about Thane..but still without reason ( similar to Jacob, Miranda, Tali, Jack fans)wildannie wrote...

About favourite scene with Thane..hmm...I can't really choose this one. I like theirs first meeting in Nassana Tower, love his loyality mission, the way he is talking to Koylat, all those emotions in his voice, small gestures like holding Shepard hand and a lot of more.
TBH, I like Kaidan very much, and he almost always was my Shepard Li ( once I try to romance with Liara, but I don't feel comfortable with s/s romances). Before ME2 I was SURE that he will be my Shepard's LI forever, even if I knew, he will be not companion in this part of game. Unfortunetly for Kaidan there was Thane

You still have to remember that not everyone romanced Kaidan or Ashley, and we know at least one of them is dead in everyones playthrough. Out of all of my playthroughs I only romanced Kaidan once, and Ashley is dead in all of them. They also are not the most popular characters in the game. Why would bioware give them so much focus. What about Tali and Garrus who are the most popular characters. There fans are going to be very upset if they get less content. Especially Garrus who didn't have much in ME2. If anyone were to get more contant it would probably be Liara. She is the only one who can't die, and she's biowares favorite. I wouldn't even worry about cheating. If LotSB is any indication it probably won't amount to much.
