I was speaking from both perspectives, actually. Even if there was physical attraction of some sort, it didn't strike me as obvious. The whole premise of Thane's romance is a fundamentally emotional one, which makes me appreciate it even more.

EDIT: Was just on Twitter and Patrick Weekes confirmed Kahje's presence in ME3, and the ability to visit it. Image IPB

All of my Shepards do find him attractive, because that's how I play it. For Thane it isn't that obvious, but I have always got the feeling that he does think Shepard is an attractive human woman. I don't think it's like Garrus where he appears to have had no physical attraction to humans at all. Of course Shepard and Thane's relationship goes much deeper than just physical attraction, but it just seems to me that an attraction is there. Maybe not at the begining, but I think it does eventually happen.

I was begining to think that Kahje was the only planet we wouldn't be able to see, so I am thrilled that we will be able to visit there. I've been curious to see what it is like. It will be nice to see where Thane grew up, and even better if we can see Kahje with Thane.

That's an interesting assessment. It's likely that it grows into a physical attraction kind of thing eventually (not the other way around). For one, I roleplay my Shepards as not particularly attracted to Thane's physical appearance but rather who he is and what he's been through. I like to think Thane returns similar, if not more varied, feelings. Image IPB

He does call Femshep beautiful once, I believe. And Femshep (if i remember right, again, been a while) implies that she finds him "sexy" to Kelly... or am I wrong? At any rate, I wasn't speaking from Thane's side, more from Femshep's, as it seems to me there was dialogue that did speak of her attraction to him. Since I'm coming up empty here, I may be completely wrong.

Must...replay...ME2...

I'm not saying their relationship is based on physical attraction, because it clearly isn't. But I was certain the signs were there. I may have been looking too hard. :)

Thane does call FemShep beautiful, but You should be happy not to hear it. Why? Becouse of that

start at 3.05
I never heard it and Im happy becouse of that.
Anyway Im interesting what Drells find attractive in females? I know that Garrus is talking about wirst and fingers , but what about Thane?
Of course their relationship isn't based on physical attraction, and I like it very much. In rl when I was youngest I was so stupid that I thought that how someone look is most important thing now I know that I was wrong, and personality is more important .
And yes I forget about Jacob romance..well I even never talks to much to poor Jacob thanks to Bioware. The way my Shep is talking to Mr. Taylor was the worst I ever heard in game ( like she was dreaming only about his...well pants). It was strange behaviour so I avoided any conversation after his LM

That line is cut from the game anyway. So as it is, Thane never explicitly expresses physical attraction to Shepard, though it's possible that it's there.

yup, "something big" happens on Kahje.... but it doesn't sound exactly like the "something big" we want....

They imply that Kahje is the new Virmire.

NOooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!   I will screw over the whole galaxy before killing all the last remaining Drell!!  Damn them, damn them all to hell!!
Ok, rant over.  Would much rather think happy thoughts - like Thane and I go visit so I can see his homeworld - on a vacation - at the end of the mission

Also, your Thane action figure in lifeguard shorts made me laugh - love it!

And anyone that is creating fan art, please post!  I can't draw stickman Thane, so I'm super jealous!

There's also this from the twitter thread here on the general discussion forums.

"CONFIRMED. Major event happens at Kahje!!! :)"

"You really shouldn't worry about these things. Dekuuna matata!"

"Oh god, now when I see Kahje come up un the storyline, SOMEONE'S GON' DIE."

"No! No no no no no. #maybe #wouldntleakthat #wouldI #no #probably

...so what exactly are the rules on spoilers here in this thread? i don't want to post anything that people don't want to see, but if you're here in the minefield, i'm guessing you like spoilers. I expect to disappear from here soon as I'm really trying to go into ME3 blind, but it's hard. really hard.

My thanks.

...I hope it's a more than a LITTLE different from Virmire... I mean, they wouldn't just shamelessly recycle that needlessly binary decision AGAIN would they?

Now, now...the first tweet kinda suggested we have some sort of choice.
My thoughts on this? We could be on Kahje and get a message that (insert squadmate's planet name here) is being attacked, or we could be elsewhere and hear that Kahje is being attacked, and have to choose which to defend.
So pretty much another Virmire, but on a bigger scale, which nobody really wants.
We're not getting out of this unscathed, but I don't see this news as confirmation that Thane's going to die. Chin up, all yous. Image IPB

Alternate appearance pack in ME3, I'm ahead of the game. Image IPB I also have Grunt in a sheriff's hat, pointing a gun at the Mario Brothers. I'm a strange woman.

Wow, quite a development.  I'm still happy we get to go to Kahje in ME3.  It makes sense that something would happen there because of the Prothean ruins, but that might not be the conflict.  It does sound like another Virmire and that's the part that's making me uneasy.  Who will we have to choose between and why?  Is the situation going to vary depending on who you take?

I just hope it's possible to save Thane and his race in ME3.

Lets look at the positives. I already know I am going to love ME3 for these two reasons- we are going to visit Palaven and we are going to visit Kahje, it's going to own! Maybe Kahje will add some emotional depth to the Hanar. I love this race after Thane's poetic descriptions of the beings "plumed with the light of heaven." I doubt there will be a Hanar crew member, but maybe there will be a Hanar ally that we will be able to gain the trust of. If we gain their trust perhaps we can also learn more about the individuals that make up this race so they don't all blur together in the same overly polite unemotional blur.
On another note, I know that there will be some impact on the galaxy as result of this visit, there always is. My guess is that if it at all relates to a cure for the Drell, there will be some sacrifice that must be made to attain it. Maybe we will have to decide between allowing Thane to die for thousands to have a cure. I don't know. Random guess. Perhaps your imaginations can expand on that. I would hate for something like this to happen, but Bioware has given us difficult decisions before. Maybe at some point in the game we will either have to choose between our love interest and citizens. How awful would that be? :o

That would be really awful because there is not much benefit towards keeping your love interest besides satisfying selfish desires which doesn't give a gray morality.

If it involves curing the Drell I would want it to make the player think really hard.  Something like the decision to either rewrite or destroy the heretic Geth.  The kind of decision where whether or not what you did was right is arguable.

That kind of choice would be an awful one. There is no way I could make that choice, and Thane would hate it. I really hope it's somehting else, and not anything like that. For me Virmire wasn't a difficult choice, but choosing between Thane, and his people would be hard.

Did they say it was going to be a choice like Virmire?

It can be similar to ME2 final choice. Remember when Collectors captured yours crew? You have choice go to another mission or go after Collectors. If You went on others missions, yours crew died in a Collectors tubes. If You went immediately to rescue yours men they were alive. It can be something similar.
Anyway I doubt that it set in stone, that someone will die there ( except enemies of course). Hope that Devs will give us chance to have future with Thane if we will play ours cards right. They some times ago said that they will cover for Kaidan's fans marriage option so why they will not give us chance to have Thane in Shepard's future? ( if there will be any after Reapers invasion).

I don't mind a choice like that. I would really hate another Virmire.

I don't think that was just for Kaidan. I think if it is an option to have some kind of future with you LI than everyone would get it.

I don't remember them confirming any kind of marraige though. When did they say that?

They don't confirm, there was discussion some times ago. Someone said that wand wed for his/her Sheppard, and Devs answer was that they will cover on all counts, except maybe the Kromance.

Thanks for the link.
I know marraige isn't for everyone, and some people may not want that option for their Shepards. I wouldn't mind though. My shepard that's with Garrus probably won't marry, and Garrus doesn't seem like the marrying kind anyway. I could definitely see Thane wanting to marry Shepard though.

At this point I'm just hoping that Thane has a future.
