They are new to the series. They aren't in the first game at all. In fact the drell don't even have a primary codex entry like the other species do. Bioware took the route of explaining this by saying they are endangered species that are so rare that a lot of people don't know they exist.

Outside of the lore and in our reality the drell, actually more specifically Thane, was created for the fan girls. 'cause you know it's not fair for the boys to get the asari to drool over and there's nothing for the straight female fan base to drool over.

Funnest thing ever (if Thane has Heavy Throw).

Get Deep Cryo Blast, freeze an enemy, and have Thane throw them at a wall. Shatters every time. I even made that Spectre in LotSB shatter into pieces, only to see her bleed in the cutscene.

I think there's plenty love. He's second place. Above Tali.  At my count, 52 out of 141 people voted for him.

Jacob I feel didn't have a lot of effort put into him, I think maybe do to time restraints and the switching of hands from a mobile game to a console system game. There are points in the game I feel like he's acting out of character, like when he throws his little fit when Thane joins. I feel like they just spat out a guy to be the "normal, nice guy"  to balance the angst monsters that are Garrus and Thane. In that aspect he works, his romance isn't that bad if you can get past that intial weirdness. His calling Shepard, Commander is just out of pure military respect. 

I think though Thane gets some points due to the fact he has a special nick name for Shepard. Creates a sort of informal thing. I'm surprised though that no one complains that they can't tell him to stop calling Shepard, Siha. I guess it's just that kickass of a nickname, people aren't weirded out by the romantic part of it. I know I felt better knowing it meant WARRIOR ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@LuckyThirteen - I know he calls her Commander because she is his commanding officer, but I think if you're flirting it up with Jacob, and he's responding, then perhaps he should drop it from those conversations?

And being Thane's Warrior Angel rocks!!

PlayStation magazine is crap. The list was that Magazines guesses on who is coming back because they knew that's what the fans wanted to hear and they wanted them to pick up the magazine. So they guessed Thane wouldn't return, forgetting he is a romance, trashed on Jacob, and seemed to think all the female characters are returning because they are only there to be male Shepard's sex toys.

BW has confirmed Thane will be back, all characters will be back.

Here is my question :
Me and my friend were talking about Thane, and while we were talking he told me , he was reading this Ps3 magazing ( he says it was a July issue) , and he said BW listed everyone was confirmed, he said Thane wasnt.
Any thoughts on this? Hell, I think since this was back in due of July, they have edited the game. Or it was the magazine people taking guesses. I hope me and my friend are wrong about this.

Tell your friend to ignore that magazine article, even better, trash it.  Like Lucky Thirteen wrote the people who wrote that article are WRONG and even Bioware has made statements to prove how false it is. 

I'm disgusted that I even own a few of their magazines.  Such biased nonsense. 

Don't worry about Thane he will be back.

It's been common knowledge that Thane will be back if he survived ME2 for quite some time, actually. The problem is we don't know to what capacity.

I wondered that too - not like it matters.  ME3 could be the worst game I'll ever play and I'll still probably pre-order

I would take a chance to say that if Kahje has been 'leaked' then it's reasonable to assume that Thane has some role more than a cameo...I hope.

That's just the thing. I'm not afraid that Thane will get an "Kaiden in ME3" appearance, I'm afraid he'll get an "Laira in LOTSB". One mission. One goal, just to wrap his romance / storyline up.
