It's just that I cannot do it when he's so recently reconciled with Kolyat. It felt like a bad time to partition his attention when Kolyat needs as much time from him as possible to make up for what they lost. Likely I'm wrong and that Thane does have enough time to spend with both Shepard AND Kolyat. But when he says things like, "Time is short for me, but whatever I have is yours, siha.", I always feel like Shepard's stealing away Thane's time and affection.
What do you Thane fans say?
I was actually thinking about this. I figured, Shepard could be the force that encorages him to spend time with his son, romance or not. In my Shepard's case, with Rylie, she doesn't have any family and sees the precious value of Thane and Kolyat's relationship. She wants to help them mend. Kolyat is more important to Thane than Shepard will ever be. She can not replace that, but she can help them. Kolyat seems like the stubborn sort and Thane isn't that great of a father, I just see an opprotunity for Shepard to help, again romance or not. Shepard already helped once, why stop there unless Shepard dislikes Thane?
In the case of romance, I was thinking if the option is available or if they just don't say anything along the lines of what they discuss before Shepard is arrested, Rylie would tell him to go spend time with his son. Not waste it waiting to be allowed in for visitation time or to see her on trial.
