I am operating under the fantasy that, for the final mission, you get the entire team back together and raise some hell with the best of your space bros. I will continue to believe this until otherwise shown.JECWSU wrote...
I'm sure that mission will be fun, and I will enjoy playing it. I just don't see how you're suppose to continue your relationship with him if you don't see him agian after that. I know that we don't know it for sure, but that article made it sound like that was it. Not satisfied, not happy just content.
So basically, Thane, Mordin, and Shepard kick Reaper ass and fly off into the sunset.
EDIT: Also, here is a picture of Thane and Shepard gazing over a cliff.

"So, uh... Looks like Mordin fell pretty far. Should we go down there and help him?"
"... Nah."

At this point I wouldn't be surprised to hear Tali being able to walk around without her suit with no problems or the possibility of interspecies children.

Writers tend to write everything for a reason, last time I checked.

But... Please don't take this the wrong way my Thane fan friends... But I think it would take away some of his coolness if Thane got cured. I want him to die because I like him, strange as it may sound. It's no big deal though, a cured Thane also works for me.

Hmm. Thank you for the news, Cheez! I have to say that I totally expected something like that so I'm not all that excited. I am hard to please. Now I wonder whether temporary squaddies can become more or less 'permanent' if they are active LIs. I mean, it's totally possible to fight a war without your LI being by your side, but sad. Especially if other LIs would be able to stay on the Normandy.

It's hard to be positive sometimes.

All it said was that they were working on a cure. They still haven't found one yet.

But I don't think they would tease the "cure Thane" thing that Weekes did and NOT have him cured or allow the possibility.
And if they did cure him? It could harm his character. It could also help his character.
Overall, I hesitate to jump to judgement, especially since the devs obviously know much more about this than we fan peons do.

To be perfectly honest, I think he deserves a glorious death in combat. However, the fan community put a lot of effort into campaigning for a cure, so the option to at least extend his life should be available in a salute to that effort. Such an option, however, should come with clear consequences and drawbacks. For example, maybe Thane would prefer not to extend his life. Maybe the cure is a very limited batch, or incomplete, and using it on himself would mean withholding it from other drell that need it more.lovgreno wrote...

Or maybe there's a Zaeed-style mission path split halfway through or something.
Just thinking out loud here.
Anyway, Thane = awesome. I didn't like him much at first (I saw him as a shallow attempt to make the ideal LI for girls), but after I started using him in combat, I realized how badass he was, and that encouraged me to talk to him more. I really came to appreciate his character. The one thing that saddened me was how all of his best lines only happen if you fail his loyalty mission.

Yep. Hence why I sort of support a Thane cure. Bring on the goddamn happy endings.Big stupid jellyfish wrote...
@Cheez: I know what you mean and, being a Thanemancer, I understand the appeal of him dying gloriously in combat... Or even the appeal of him fading away because of the Kerpal's. I, however, cannot help but refer to the thread you've made a day ago: let my Shepard and me save him and have him by our side.
Just, you know, not super-contrived or anything. Make it good. And weighty. Bioware shouldn't be all, "well you asked for it, so here you go derp."
Or just let him live long enough to see the credits roll.

x1000 times this.
(But well, everything fans asked for should be delivered good and weighty. Like the Thane cure. Or turian ladies. Or squad banters.)

I saw that campaing poster, and I thought that was awesome, but it was also discouraging to see all the hate that came as well. I thought that the reaction from the fans meant BioWare did a good job on Thane's character despite the reason behind why he was made. The game has already teased that he can have his life extended, so I dont see why the possibility of it in ME3 would be such a stretch to begin with. I feel if you want to keep Thane you should have that ability, along with all the other squad mates.AdmiralCheez wrote...

I kind of agree with Collider. I'm going to wait for BioWare to tease at the mission before I 100% believe it. This news embargo has just been excruciating. Not even a screenshot or two, nothing. Overall, I want a decision of some kind.
I stand by that if it is written well and plausible within the ME universe, then having a choice won't ruin Thane, his impact, or his story arc.
