I have the same problem Cheez. People always seem to assume I am a guy when I kick their asses on games.

Also, added that video to the OP Mei mei. That is how true fangirling should be done. I have watched it before, but forgot what it was called, as my knowlegde of pop music = nothing.

I personally LOVE his face at the scene where you pick him up before the suicide mission. He looks positively pissed. He's such a stoic character, to see such blatant emotion makes me squel in cross gendered joy.

It'd be silly if they were.  He's a badass character regardless of whether or not you romance him, and dudes can play as FemShep, too.

I've actually gotten a few notes from people saying they're glad I made the thread and that they also support it.  I didn't know so many people were in the same boat.

I don't see the appeal of a game where everyone drops like flies all around you. I don't understand the storytelling composition where no matter what you do or how hard you try you lose people cause "it's a war and war kill peoplez". That comes off as cheap to me.

Same with Thane. If you can bring back Shep from death in out space and patch her body back together despite it being exposed to vaccum temperatures, burning through the atmosphere of a planet and possibly being picked apart by wild alient animals (or maybe a few fans looking for trohpies), you can slap in some artifical lungs.

Literary blowhards that like to sit back and pretend they know how to write a good story.  Screw the pitiful attempts of academia at quantifying a subjective experience!  Real literary study focuses on the message being delivered and how well the author got it across, not the value of the message itself!

And here's the thing about Mass Effect: the way it's set up, the message being delivered is entirely up to the player.  You get what you give, and how the story pans out is a reflection of the choices you made.

We just shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.

I asked my brother the other day about who his favourite Mass Effect character was. He said that it was Thane. You can't imagine how overjoyed I was! I thought my obsession had possibly put him off, LOL
When you start organising massive collaborations, getting them printed out on a massive banner and sending it half way across the world, you have to wonder what your family thinks of you XD

The Thane thread is a happy place for happy people. We occasionally have bouts of rage and pessimism, but clearer heads prevail.

I fear you are stretching it, dears. There is no way that magazine could know everything about Thane's role in ME3. Just not possible. It may not be the best news but it was never meant to be taken very seriously. Is it accurate? Probably. Is it everything? Most assuredly not.

You don't give a full-fledged love interest a one-hour mission as a temporary companion and then never show him again. Not in the final part of a trilogy.

This does help me stay more optimistic. Especially the last part, and I hope you're right.

I've heard people say it's his mouth that makes them think of a fish.  Maybe it's the plate scale look on his face or something.  I don't know I always saw Thane's resemblance to a reptile as well, even my friend though he looks like a lizard and she's never seen anything ME before.  Poor Thane, being compared to animals like this.
