It's probably just me but that "you will feel content with his inclusion" line makes me curious.  I hope that means we will get the chance to save him.  Still too vague though.  Didn't someone a long time ago say something about "a mission that would make the Thane fans happy"?  I wish I could remember where I read that, but oh well, nevermind.  Rumors are rumors.

I don't think ME3News is an official BioWare source. They have just quoted the alleged snippet we have already read.
They say on their twitter that they get their material from BSN.

I'm doing that too! Except in my latest playthrough, I'm not going to recruit him at all. I wonder if he will be mentioned in the third game if I do that...

I think the concept of solipsism is neat, I just hate the way Thane describes the scenes he's reliving in his head. It's way too overdone for me. The spice on the wind, her sunset colored eyes defiant in the scope....no one talks like that! (Except beatnik stereotypes, I suppose?) If Garrus started describing his experience on Omega with "I was alone, cornered, the taste of blood like rust in my mouth..." I would despise it, too. I like it much better when he's simply talking about it in a "normal" fashion (i.e. the "feel of another's tongue in your mouth/I can look at my leg and see it's not shattered" conversation).

So yes, it's not the flashbacks at all - just the descriptions of such that Thane/the Bioware writers chose to use. I don't think my opinion deserves a side-eye...I still love the character.

For me it's the quick flashes between weird camera angles and close-ups. It's a little uncomfortable to suddenly have someone's face wigging out all over my screen.

I'm the same as Cheez XD It's the flashes, camera angles and close-ups that are kinda offputting for me. I actually like the way he talks when he's in solipsism, it's just another alien feature that serves as a reminder that he's not human.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with multiplayer actually, co-op sounds like fun!
As long as they focus on the main campaign, I'm pretty happy about having a multiplayer component, definitely increases the replayability.

A temporary squad role is actually much better than I was expecting for a terminally ill man with no connection to any major plots and who lacked Tali/Garrus' following. So I'm celebrating.

I realize it's still a rumor only now, but since multiplayer turned out to be true I'm just going to get the denial out of the way and accept it as so. At least this way I'll get a nice surprise if Thane does turn out to be a full time squad mate.

Yeah apparently we will get some co-op missions.
Sounds like an extra mode, kinda like Uncharted 2 and Portal 2 if you've ever played those.

Did it come straight from Bioware?
Is this this all there is to Thanes story, or is there more. If this is it it's really disappointing. Especially if other characters get more, and we get one lousy mission and that's it.

That line makes me worried, because there version of content and mine I'm sure are different. They think one mission, and then we never see him agian is going to make us happy.  I'm sure they may give us a way to save him, but I doubt I will be content with his inclusion. They always say a lot of things that turn out not to be true.

I'm not a huge MP fan, certainly not the deathmatch/capture the flag/pointless brawls that every game with guns tends to have, (the last one of those I enjoyed was Timesplitters, but that was local MP) but ME3 is co-op, which I lurrrrrrve. My brother and I had a complete blast playing through Dead Island recently, a game I would have loved anyway, but was a lot better with a second target for the zombies. Plus the constant stream of lines from The Simpsons and The Room we shouted over the headsets made everything hilarious. We're so mature over here.

I tend to stick to only playing co-op with friends, because A) I know they're honest, decent players, and I know where they live if they screw me over. Not a huge fan of playing co-op with unknowns online.

No, I don't think so.
And I think they are attempting to give every returning squadmate a decent and fitting part. They definitely said they wanted all of the LI's to have a good role in the game.
