I'm taking a break from this miserable assignment to reiterate an interesting piece of trivia that I mentioned in another thread last night.

We know that Thane will be on Invictus in ME3. We also know that the name Invictus likely refers to the poem by William E. Henley. Out of morbid curiosity, I further researched this topic until I stumbled across something rather intriguing. First, the word Invictus by its lonesome means unconquered or undefeated, and the poem in question is very often regarded as inspirational and borderline defiant. It turns out that the premise of the poem is, in fact, equally inspirational.

Henley wrote Invictus as a representation of his struggle with tuberculosis, which itself is a metastatic lung disease that he developed at a very early age. Which, naturally, leads to the realization that Thane is in a surprisingly similar situation.

So, I believe that Thane's presence on Invictus is anything but a coincidence and, instead, was intended by the writers all along. :innocent:

The drell looks so sad though, his colouring seems more like Kolyat's than Thane's however.

Got the aliens mixed up again.

Actually, I am named after someone from Star Trek. She's called 'Tasha Yar.' And yes, my parents are Trekkies . Prefer Star Wars myself though.

I'm going off topic again! So Invictus, I think there is a lot of hope for Thane. I think the sceptics forget that the impossible is possible in the context of Mass Effect.

Also the skeptics forget Bioware allows a lot of special things for other characters in the name of fan service. I'm still against some of these fan service things myself, but I don't go about raining on anyone's parade over it.

Fanservice by definition is about doing a service for the fans, making something that fans will enjoy.
Technically a lot of aspects in Mass Effect could be referred to as fanservice Even tweaking gameplay!

I have two playthroughs were I didn't romance him, and I found it very hard to stay out of life support. The only way I can really do it is to not speak to him at all.

Out of 8 full playthroughs I have 3 who romanced Thane, 2 who romanced Garrus, a manshep for Tali, a manshep for Jack, and one who has been single for the whole time because she is holding out for Joker.

Don't ask me how I managed it ><

I snagged him every time I played my FemShep, which is 4/7 out of my total playthrough's.

I've completed 4 PTs of which 3 romanced Thane. One I managed a Garrus romance, but it literally killed me. And I didn't enjoy it as much.

Now on PT 5 and of course, that sexy drell already has my eye...

I have about 5 playthroughs. One for Garrus, and one who stayed loyal to Kaidan. Another who moved from Kaidan to Thane, and the last two are for Thane.

One the playthroughs where I didn't romance him I don't really talk to him. If I talk to him then I have to reject him, and I can't seem to do that.
