And that pretty much sums up the majority of this thread, though some are only against the LI part.

LMAO flawless. Seriously, if she's really 16 in ME3, no LI, let's not even go there. But as a squaddie? Why not? An autistic biotic would be something very interesting!

An autistic 16-year-old girl as a LI?

No thanks.

Everyone in this thread needs to go scrub their souls RIGHT NOW.

Except the people who think this is pretty wrong, and so are all the other ridiculous LI requests that seem to pop up constantly.

Yeah, except keepermance and reapermance threads are funny. A 32-year-old man making love to a sixteen-year-old girl is just horrible and I reported the OP to the mods.

I think she would fit fine on the Normandy with all those other wierdo emotional wrecks.  I can even see her being an LI for Shepard, and no, that would not make him a pedophile.

"Romancing" a teenager with autism,  that's friggen classy.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. Even if she was 18, shepard is like 32 or something. If you think that is okay, then you are deffinately wrong.

Let's try to keep this civil and not report anyone.  Gillian is ex mea sententia equivalent to Jack in mental terms.  I would find it fascinating to try to help her in any way.  Most countries don't have laws that restrict marriage between 30+ years old and teenagers.  Nothing says that it is morally wrong.  Saying that though I wouldn't want a sex scene.  I would prefer a "I'll be there for you" moment.   I don't suscribe myself to the saying 'love has no boundaries', but I think this would be as good as time as any to show that.

And please don't report anyone in this thread, it's just a discussion.

All I know about this girl is that she's from the books and was the daughter of the reaperfied guy BW will have some serious introducing to do for her and not only that if this girl knew her dad became a reaper tool she better be able to answer some serious questions about the reaper tech in shep and what he can expect from it.

I actually like the idea of Shepard potentially taking on a parental role if Gillian were to be made a squadmate.

I guess it all depends on where she is at the end of Deception, and if it makes sense for her to be brought onto Shepard's team from there. If she meets up with Sanders and Anderson and doesn't die...

[[demo spoilers]]

Well, we know Anderson's a part of the beginning of ME3, right? Could be she's introduced right from the start after Shepard escapes Earth.

I would love to see Gillian, but as a squadmate? No thanks, considering her age, I can't see her playing a good role in the Normandy. Her powers are unreal, which can lead to her being involved in a mission, maybe something with Biotics and Jack. I'd love to see that.

I find her age to be irrelevant.  It's a time of war where anything goes.  Besides, some countries let teenagers join the army at the age of 16 or younger, some without parent consent.

I think she would fit fine on the Normandy with all those other wierdo emotional wrecks.  I can even see her being an LI for Shepard, and no, that would not make him a pedophile.

It's a time  of war where anything goes??? Are you serious?? That is quite possibly the creepiest thing I have seen on these forums.. And he is twice her age, even if it is not technically pedophilia, it is pretty damn close, and I can't really see anyone approving of that stuff. I can see why people are getting reported in this thread

God forbid people wouldn't want to romance someone socially inept.

There's a fine line between awkward/shy Tali/Liara, then there's just ... incompetence.

I have an autistic brother and he's just ... rude. He's completely oblivious to the fact that so many of the things he says are rude to people ("oh dad your cooking is terrible" "oh [my sister's name] you're fat" "hey [girl's name] why are you so ugly?" and i'm not making any of these up) and if people wouldn't want to romance a character like that, then they're perfectly entitled to that opinion.

So you generalize a group of people based on the actions of one? Smooth move, you're a really classy guy. But you have a point, I now think all internet nerds are stereotyping douchebags based on what you have shown me. Cheers

What? All autistic people have specific "qualities" that they all share (social ineptitude, poor ability to interpret people's feelings through their speech/body langauge) so your point is just ... I dunno... wrong? I'm not saying "all Muslims are terrorists" since that's 1. wrong and 2. too broad a group to make an assumption on, but I am making my comments based on the fact that all autistics do actually share certain qualities which as a result would make them an undesirable LI in an ME game.

So drop the smartass crap and just accept some people don't want a socially awkward LI in ME.

What makes you think that? There's Tali afterall for starters.

And ALL humans are capable of those same things you seem to look down on autistics for, not to mention the fact that the severity of those symptoms varies. In my opinion, take a breath, step back... and stop being an ass.

What about Tali?

And yes, all humans are capable of said things I mentioned, but we're referring to autistics in particular - and the condition is diagnosed due to the fact that person X meets criteria Y and Z which just happen to be the prerequisites for being diagnosed with the "condition".

TL;DR

- Grayson is autistic
- Autistics are socially inept (refer to examples of potential autistic behaviour in my post above)
- as a result of the above, she would be unappealing as an LI

Tali: socially inept LI that a lot of people are quite interested in.

And just because you hate autistics because of your brother, doesn't mean that everyone else in the world is intollerant of them, or that they should be romantically isolated. You treat them as lessers and thus you are a douchebag. End story.

She's shy and kinda awkward, not autistic, there's a difference - that difference being autistics can be quite malicious without intending to be on a frequent basis.

I never said that I hate autistics either, just that social ineptitude and frequent unintentional malice does not an attractive LI make in my, and some other people's opinion.

I didn't say she was autistic, I said she was socially inept. There's a difference, really there is, you just have to think about it.

Your demeanor speaks volumes about your disposition towards autistics, if that is not your true feelings, then perhaps you are the one who lacks the ability to notice how what you say affects others. As for what the majority of people want, I couldn't say, and neither could you; but it's clear that the ME LIs already exhibit a number of the flaws you harp on autistics for. So you may want to revise your theory, and perhaps your manner in general.
