My guess is that he is not new to combat.  Rather, he's new to galactic affairs at large.  This is helpful as exposition for newer players to the series, but runs the risk of being annoying for older players.  Honestly, Vega has already received a lot of heat on the boards.  He'll probably be another underdog like Jacob, meaning I'll most likely be a fan.

While Jacob isn't my most favorite character he seemed like a nice guy I hope they do a better job with him in ME3. Though he is not priority for me I would like to say I support you guys and his fanbase.

Yay for some Jacob art   =)     the one with Jacob and Kasumi is really cute. Except for when I'm playing a FemShep that romances him. Think it's a bug that makes her believe that my FemShep and Jacob have ended their relationship but she keeps on talking about him in *that* way. I love Kasumi to bits but then it's pretty much "No , you can't have Jacob on this PT" *growl*. She can have him on the next FemShep   =)

I hope if Jacob is back as a full squad-member he gets his armor from Galaxy...it suits him better than what he currently has.

I agree that Jacob should come back as full squad member in me3 because....he is the sanest person between those freaks.

No, serious, from all people he is the most trustworthy person. At least he doesn't whine about everything or throw a tantrum like: "Were have you been these two years, Ahh your with Cerberus now?!!! Traitor, hypocrite, monst... - Uh, I was dead for tw.. - I don't care. I'm not listening. Just go die!"

Perhaps my romanceless Keondra Shepard who pines for Jack may go for Vega if Jack won't take her.

This. I'm hoping tht Vega and Jacob used to be friends (and owrk out buddys) and have some sort of amicable relationship that leads to awesome squad banter.
