you have no idea how happy that would make me. having them both in the armory and on the squad would be fun as hell.

That would be great! I would love it if Jacob knew either Vega or Ashley. When did Jacob say anything about Eden Prime, I have the memory of a slightly challenged goldfish.

@ ADLegend   Like that pic    =)     always think that Jacob and Samara would get along well. They both really focus on their jobs and are pretty calm about it. Hmmm... wish there could have been a little more groupbanter in ME2.

I can't recall when he first speaks of it but he mentions it on Horizon when you come across the corpse of a Husk and again on the derelict Reaper when you inspect the dragon's teeth.

And I agree about both Jacob interaction with Ashley, Vega, and Samara. I think Jacob would have a respect for her being an Alliance soldier not to mention being on Eden Prime. Although there could be friction regarding his association with Cerberus. Even though we know little of Vega, again Jacob could respect that he is a soldier too.

Samara and Jacob should have had more dialogue together, both are hardline paragons, Samara obviously to a greater extreme so it'd be interesting to hear them talk but also Samara could impart some training regarding weaponry and biotics. Bit of a missed opportunity there!

Actually, just having Alliance people acknowledge Jacob like "aren't you with the corsairs?" would be good. Would be nice to know more about his past

Hey guys, random question about something Jacob said. I suppose most femsheps are all too familiar with his "She deserves a better man than I.", referring to Miranda. This was were many a potential Jacobmancer hooked off.

However, given with what we now know about her from the Shadow Broker DLC, what with her not being able to get pregnant and all, do you think their relationship might've ended because of that? I could see it being somewhat of a dealbreaker for Jacob, as well as the reason that line sounds so apologetic.

Thoughts?

Jacob and Miranda don't have the same morals. There views on Cerberus says as much. Miranda likes working for Cerberus and feels the ends justify the means. Jacob works for Cerberus begrudgingly.

He feels the Alliance is doing nothing. It's either work for Cerberus or twiddle his thumbs while colonies disappear. He takes the former option despite misgivings about how Cerberus operates. Just about every time you talk to Jacob about Cerberus he points out their flaws. Miranda on the other hand is fiercely loyal to Cerberus and will try justify anything they've done. Miranda and Jacob would have fought all the time.

As a man, saying a woman "requires a better man" than you, isn't a compliment. It's a polite way of calling a woman high maintenance. I use the phrase a lot in general usually when some does something that I would never do. "Hey you are a better man than I am." Translation: "I'll be damned if I do that."

After Jacob's loyalty mission there is a brief dialogue scene involving The Illusive Man, Miranda, Shepard, and Jacob.  If you press Jacob when The Illusive Man and Miranda depart, you can get him to talk about Miranda and say that "she deserves a better man" than him. 

People have interpreted this optional line in many different ways.  Some see it as offensive, thinking that if Jacob isn't good enough for Miranda, then why is he good enough for female Shepard?  Others see it as Jacob being fed up with Miranda's high maintenance nature.

@ DirtyVagrant thanks for that info. I'll listen a little bit extra next time I'm doing his LM =) good thinking on biotics training and weapons as similar interests. I was only thinking more on the paragon-side of things =)

@ TriviaAeducan I would be really glad if someone from the military said something about the corsairs. And yes, I want to know more about Jacobs also also =)

Regarding the thing about Jacob and Miranda, first time I heard it I mistook it for Jacob saying that he wasn't really over Miranda. Didn't want to move in if he needed time and therefore broke it off. Jupp, I'm really that good at reading nuances some times. I didn't catch the tone on that one, might just be that I have never heard that expression used before. Then I read how you could interpret on the Jacob-thread in the ME&ME2-forum, you guys were talking about it, went back a couple of saves and started the romance again.

Since powers get super evolved, I'm wondering if Jacob will have a super powerful area pull technique. Maybe one that can bypass armor and such like stasis and life a squad or something off the ground for cannon fodder. and then maybe say one of his funny combat lines like "I put em down!"

I hope they give him a tech power so that he more accurately resembles his Galaxy incarnation. ME3 squad mates have one more power than ME2 squad mates.

I would like them to make him closer to the Soldier (with Biotics) he was supposed to be rather than some sort of bad Vanguard hybrid.

He doesn't have the HP to support Shotgun use, the AI poorly uses shotguns, and Shields are too weak in Mass Effect 2 to maintain a short ranged fighter like Jacob was made to be. Yes, I know some dlc shotgun fixes this, but that Shotgun is kind of broken. And he used an Assault Rifle in the flash game he was in. I don't get the point in basing companions off of Shepard's specs when we don't have the freedom with their abilities that Shepard has with his own. In ME:2, a Vanguard without Charge is just. . .possibly the worst class combo in the game. I can't think of anything worse.

I am wondering why Bioware doesn't just hard cap the companions and let you choose who you want though. I guess it's harder to code and wastes too many resources, but arguably the same amount of resources are being wasted if you import a file with dead permanent companions, I suppose. There are some companions I'd happily give up for my bro Jacob.

I'd settle with Jacob getting overload again. Get rid of Barrier while they're all it too.

Impact Shot
Flame Ammo
Pull
Overload
Barrier

and then give him like assault rifles and shotguns
and make his class ability either strengthen his tech/biotics, or strengthen his gunplay. (Technically both, but you know how one is favored in Bioware specializations.)

I don't want anyone based on Vanguard. Jack was a funny version that reminded me of this.
Jack: "I'm a Biotic adept! No one is better than me at Biotics!."
Shepard: Shut up, ****, you have Shockwave. Miranda is better than you at Biotics.

I have a question. Jacob says he has been stationed where Shepard wakes up for 5 years, if my memory serves. However, he also says that he saw "enough Geth" on Eden Prime. But Geth were only on Eden Prime about 2 years before ME2. Unless I'm missing some information. I don't really like Jacob, so I tend to skip conversation with him.

Actually I'm pretty sure he was stationed with Shepard for about 2 years. He was sidelined after Eden Prime by the Alliance then Cerberus quickly recruited him to be a part of the lazarus cell.

Barrier isn't the problem, its the poor AI if you have squadmate powers set to auto.
