There's not much Jacob hate in the Miranda fanbase, so I don't think this is a significant factor. There's also a consensus that Miranda's had other partners, and nobody's much bothered by that.

As for Jacob, he might be the most underrated character in the ME series. Sad, actually, since his romance, apart from the prize line, is very good.

I will never understand the hate Jacob gets for "the prize" line and the free pass femshep gets for her multiple "I'm going to rape you and you are going to like it" lines. Femshep sounds like a Russian salon shop owner when she first talks to Jacob.

I actually thought Jacob's bedroom talk was sorta endearing. Gotta forgive a little cheese, you know? It seemed real enough. And yeah, while his romance doesn't totally buck the therapeutic vibes you get from the other romances, the spotlight is on Shep more than anything. I liked it.

When it comes to the prize-line... I don't really get why people find it so special to be hung up about. Find more understandable when some one says something along "he didn't click with my Shepard because of he was so calm and bla bla bla". Feels a bit more reasonable when they have built it up in some way from in game reasons. But if the only thing that they find irritating is "the prize", it would only come up if you play FemShep and romance him, which many probably haven't done unfortunately. They miss out on a very sweet romance if they only go by that.

I feel like it's a little bit of a herd-behavior. Back when we were waiting for DA2 there was an unfortunate screenshot of Carver and that got the herp-derp started. It went something like

Herd-member 1: Herp derp?
Herd-member 2: Herp derp!
Chorus of entire herd: Herp derp!! Herp derp!! Herp derp!!

It was completely impossible to get any kind of conversation going in the Carver-thread for a while because of "herp-derp" pretty much. Poor guy. Luckily it settled once you actually got to see him in game. Feels like it was the same thing here... just a little bit.

Well, that's just the silly thought by me =) if it sound totally strange it might be because it's waay late over here.

What I bolded is what I appreciate about Jacob...as I mentioned, I trust him and am happy to have him at my Sheps back, he has been nothing but honest with Shep and Shep appreciates that immensely...Miranda certainly was in no hurry to be upfront with Shep, but Jacob was straight out there with it and Shep noticed, Jacob gets a lot of cudo's and respect for that....But for spilling drinks on the Citadel?....sorry, the cynacism does put me off personally...Jacob would have my full vote and love if he would just relax and have a bit more faith in the universe.

as for Miri...my Shep doesn't romance her, so doesn't factor in at all.

So when Jacob said,"spill some drinks on the Citadel." I thought of the both of us holding drinks in our hands while talking and dancing with hot chicas in a posh Nightclub.

@SilentK I totally get what you mean XD Except people (like myself) supported Carver during the herp-derp days and beyond. Others have gone to dislike him because he pretty much is almost angry/jealous with Hawke.

Jacob won my heart because he's just so SANE. The priiize moment is kind of like when a boyfriend tries to sound all suave and derps instead. Oh believe me, it has happened in real life for me when my guy tries to be dominating, it wasn't sexy XP But at the end of the day, why get so worked up over ONE mistake? Overall, I love Jacob's character and his ability to REJECT Shepard! He's not as Shepard-sexual as the others... I'll always remember how he and Shepard just click during the venting scene.

I didn't take it that way either...as I have a manShep, I just saw it as a boys will be boys together statement...kick back, have a great time, etc... As I mentioned earlier, I don't mind Jacob, his one of the VERY few Cerberus my Shep does trust and though Jacobs not a fav of mine, I really don't like the bagging he cops on the Forums, Jacobs fine....To be honest, he did irritate me at first and I didn't know why, so had a good listen to him and thought about him, it finally clicked...his cynicism...knowing what it is now, he no longer irritates me...I respect him for who he is now, but for kicking back with him? He is just so cynical and serious, I just couldn't imagine him relaxing enough to really have fun with, that's all...not seeing any disrespect on his behalf and no disrespect for him myself.

Thanks for bringing up his cynicism.  That's another aspect of his personality to trot out whenever someone posts the usual "OMG JACOB HAS NO PERSONALITY" comment.  I'll add it to the list:

• Stable
• Confident
• Reticent
• Professional
• Strong
• Honorable
• Cynical

I'm sure there are others, and that these would even be debatable.  They're in no particular order.

Refresh my memory. I don't remember her saying anything negative or maybe it depends on the dialog choice chosen.

I don't see anything to be disappointed about though... Some were disappointed about his dossier but I wasn't. He isn't the kind to have any spectacular info, aside from his incredible workout regime and movies/porn collection.

Yep. That's what I remember Liara saying. Nothing negative there.
