Gwen & Jacob, getting to know each other..?
(She hadn't broke up with Liara yet) XD

There's not much Jacob hate in the Miranda fanbase, so I don't think this is a significant factor. There's also a consensus that Miranda's had other partners, and nobody's much bothered by that.ubermensch007 wrote...
Perhaps the real reason why alot of people really dislike Jacob: Is b/c they can't get over the fact that (n a way) if there Shepard romances Miranda.Than there sort of getting Jacob's "Sloppy-Seconds" (as they say).

I will never understand the hate Jacob gets for "the prize" line and the free pass femshep gets for her multiple "I'm going to rape you and you are going to like it" lines. Femshep sounds like a Russian salon shop owner when she first talks to Jacob.

What I bolded is what I appreciate about Jacob...as I mentioned, I trust him and am happy to have him at my Sheps back, he has been nothing but honest with Shep and Shep appreciates that immensely...Miranda certainly was in no hurry to be upfront with Shep, but Jacob was straight out there with it and Shep noticed, Jacob gets a lot of cudo's and respect for that....But for spilling drinks on the Citadel?....sorry, the cynacism does put me off personally...Jacob would have my full vote and love if he would just relax and have a bit more faith in the universe.ubermensch007 wrote...
I don't get why so many people seem to not care all that much for Jacob myself.
While he may not see the 'glass as half full' He has his good points. He is honest. He has integrity. He stands for something so he won't fall for anything. And I truly felt like, by the time our team was ready to go through the Omega 4-Relay, that we truly did become friends.

as for Miri...my Shep doesn't romance her, so doesn't factor in at all.

You know, when Jacob said that I didn't take it as though he was saying that he wanted to disrespect the Citadel. We had a previous conversation in which we spoke of how the Normandy needed a Bar or Lounge area. And the importance of R & R.He mentioned something like, after this was all over we would go 'clubbing' and tell war stories to pretty dancing girls.
So when Jacob said,"spill some drinks on the Citadel." I thought of the both of us holding drinks in our hands while talking and dancing with hot chicasin a posh Nightclub.

@SilentK I totally get what you mean XD Except people (like myself) supported Carver during the herp-derp days and beyond. Others have gone to dislike him because he pretty much is almost angry/jealous with Hawke.
Jacob won my heart because he's just so SANE. The priiize moment is kind of like when a boyfriend tries to sound all suave and derps instead. Oh believe me, it has happened in real life for me when my guy tries to be dominating, it wasn't sexy XP But at the end of the day, why get so worked up over ONE mistake? Overall, I love Jacob's character and his ability to REJECT Shepard! He's not as Shepard-sexual as the others... I'll always remember how he and Shepard just click during the venting scene.

He is just so cynical and serious, I just couldn't imagine him relaxing enough to really have fun with, that's all...not seeing any disrespect on his behalf and no disrespect for him myself.

Anyone else kind of disappointed about Liara's reaction to the Jacob romance?

Thanks for bringing up his cynicism. That's another aspect of his personality to trot out whenever someone posts the usual "OMG JACOB HAS NO PERSONALITY" comment. I'll add it to the list:I'm sure there are others, and that these would even be debatable. They're in no particular order.
- Stable
- Confident
- Reticent
- Professional
- Strong
- Honorable
- Cynical

Never understood why people hated Jacob as a character...
compared to everyone else, he was probably the most relatable. A career
man who wants to make a difference, and respects Shepard highly as a
fellow soldier... there's no reason to hate the guy.
Unless you wanna hate him for having no terminal illness, or being
mentally unstable or a gibbering genius... but if that's what you want
from every character, you're being pretty stupid. Jacob is normal, and
he gets crap for it.
Meh.
What is it with women wanting to see characters named Jacob with their shirts off?

I think she says something about "drinks dancing with Jacob" to which Shepard replies,
"He's a good man."
Liara then says "He's solid, stable, you may need that more than you think in the time to come."
