Hey I was over in another thread where Skullheart mentioned that she would like to see Lieuteneant Ashley Williams and Operative Jacob Taylor become romantically involved in Mass Effect 3.

What do you all think of that? I kinda really like the idea myself

Jacob deserves some unique cinematic action sequences. He's always doing sweet moves during gameplay like pulling enemies towards him and sending them spinning away in flames. How about a scene where he gets to do some cool stuff like Liara did in the DLC or like Garrus busting a cap in that guy holding Dr. Michel hostage.

If I don't have a FemShep who romances him I'm hoping that he will end up with Kasumi. Always try to make sure that she's alive if when not romancing Jacob. Don't let anyone say that I don't take care of my crew, lol.

I don't know. I always thought Kasumi was a bit off and creepy. Sneaking around spying/stalking people on the ship and admitting to it.

I always felt that Kasumi was a pretty warm person =) I would like to get to know her better. Too bad that Jacob didn't have a greeting-scene with her. Would have been interesting to see it.

The only times I was even a little bit miffed was when she was bugged and kept saying that my FemShep and Jacob had broken up when they were still together, lol. But then I mostly felt a little sad for her. "No, no Jacob for you. Next FemShep perhaps".

:pinched:OMG I hated this so much. The first time it happened I thought I did something wrong because previously Jacob broke up with my FemShep so I reloaded. Then I reloaded again and again and the same thing happened. Then I was like meh, as long as the romance is flagged.

lol, I know =) I stopped going by because I was so worried on the first FemShep that romanced him. Was so worried that perhaps something had happen, that the romance wasn't active anymore. Reloaded also. Now I know it's just poor Kasumi that is getting her signals mixed, or some wishful thinking on her part.

The pic didn't want to show up so here's the link to Jacob in armor. I'm hoping and praying that we will see him in something like this in ME3.

Well, I love both Ash and Jacob, but I don't want them together because I want Jacob for my femShep.  I can see that they would probably get along well, though. What would be really nice would be a plotline where they had to work together to solve a problem or something and became buddies. Hopefully Jacob will see his way out of Cerberus on the Paragon Shepard base destroying path or otherwise. Ash is kickass, hardcore alliance.

Just wanted to lend my support for Jacob.

I'm making a Shepard for him right now. I like that you can make him say he loves you (Thane's letter was beautiful but I wasn't supposed to see it until after he died) and that he is so... level-headed. The thing a little bit annoying is the whole Normandy crew is that it's kinda like a who-can-have-the-most-messed up- traumatic-weird history contest, and I'm glad that Jacob doesn't take part in it.

His loyalty mission is about what his father did, not some tragic thing that happened to him. While I am getting sick of Daddy issues (Tali,Wrex, (Ashley if you count Granddaddy) Miranda,Jacob,Grunt, jesus christ!) but I felt that the theme of the difficulties of command could really apply to Shepard. Resurrected only to immediately sent on a Suicide Mission, with the loving attention of the Reapers and Collectors and all the universe their enemy, Shepard could crack. Probably SHOULD crack.

And like the rest of the crew, Jacob could also. But he's focused and determined and fun to be around, not to mention wary, watching his steps around Cerberus and TIM. He's almost the "good side" to Cerberus: he acknowledges what they've done, but also recognizes the support they can lend to the anti-Reaper effort, while (generally) being polite and professional to the myriad of aliens Shepard adds to the crew.

I uhh... abdomen aside, I wouldn't mind it if they gave him a bit of a redesign in ME3, though. Just his face. Nothing major, maybe lighten up his eyebrows a bit- looks like he taped blackboard erasers above his eyes. It's just that he had this uncanny-valley look through a lot of my other playthroughs, like Miranda.

Go Jacob!

So far I haven't got a single FemShep who saved Ash but I'll probably get one when we are a little closer to March. It would indeed be a very nice plot line if Jacob and Ash would become friends. In general I would be happy to see more interaction between the crew members, and not only cat-fights. That's one thing that I miss a little from DA2. Walking in on Aveline and Izzy talking or Varric and Anders. Just seeing perhaps Jacob and Samara discussing biotics would be great!

Hi Asenza! Welcome. I think you're right in that Jacob could use some tweaks in ME3- first and foremost for me, his giant teeth. Love him anyway, though.
Isn't the 'I love you' a golden moment? Bowled me over that someone actually said it. Sounds great in his voice, too.

I'm also dropping by to say that Jacob is awesome.

I didn't romance him (I'm a Kaidan girl), but I loved Jacob. It's so refreshing to have someone who has a messed-up past like everyone else, but isn't angsty and just gets over it and gets the job done. He's a steady, level-headed influence in a ship full of lunatics. (I mean lunatics in the most affectionate way, of course.)

My personal opinion is that a lot of the people who don't like him just decided he was boring and didn't talk to him anymore, and so they missed all the good stuff! He took a while to warm up, but once he did, he became a good friend. And when he said the line about getting loud and spilling drinks on the Citadel, followed by manly hugs and fist bumps, I couldn't help but say "awwww".

YES. I counted it up once, and I think 10 or 11 out of the 16 crew members from both games had at least one cutscene of them doing something incredibly badass. I have high hopes that the others will get theirs in ME3. It helps get a sense of the character, I think.

No one I know seems to be able to find the right dialogue options to get him to take the step.

During the final romance scene after the ill-fated delivery of the "But the prize..." line, if you reply with the bottom dialogue option, the "Reject" option, Shepard will say something like, "if you're here to talk about not wanting to talk, I have other things to do.

Then Jacob will say, "You're right, I didn't come here to talk... Soon we're going to get the collectors, blah blah blah... win, lose, doesn't matter. I love you."

The other version of this line has him say, "I want you," but that's only if you pick the other dialogue option. For some reason, you get three chances to turn Jacob down ( but only the first time results in him saying that he loves you.

I have to say, putting off Jacob for "another time" when chances are there might not BE another time is... well, I guess Bioware couldn't think of a reason to turn Jacob away. With Tali=Risk her health. Garrus=Ruin friendship. Thane (OMGWTF)= can't love a dying man, can't replace wife, can't deal with pre-collector jitters. Jacob=if we live which we probably won't...

Check my earlier post, I posted a link to the scene that shows what happens when you reject Jacob not once, not twice, but three times!

Does anyone know if that ends the romance completely? I know Jacob has some after Suicide Mission romantic dialogue (LUCKY!) but does he say anything different if you turned him down before the SM? Do you even get that scene if you turn him down?
