@Gilsa: Sorry for the OT, but where did those goggles Shep is wearing in your first screenshot come from?

Back on topic: I agree with everything you said. Very well put.

EDIT: Oops, my OT-ness ended up on the top. Thanks for picking up the slack, SilentK.

Ohh... grabbing the chance to put something Jacob on the page =)

I wish I could draw this well. Fun idea to make a loggbook of your ME2-PT

I've done all three conclusions in JT's mission and he was equally fine with all of them. I do not know if that affected his romance dialogue though. I picked the alliance option so the death was not on his hands, so the other victims could get more closure knowing he was being punished (death can be too easy of a way out for some). I don't know if that means Jacob will see his father again in ME3. Hope not.

Those specific goggles are called Umbra Visor, one of the three head items made available through the Dr. Pepper promotion when ME2 was released. Some people have been asking about this lately and are looking to get their hands on the code before the promotion ends. I looked at the fine print on the Dr. Pepper site and the promotion ends in January 2012 so there's still time to try to get this. Hopefully the instructions on this blog will help out:

it took me playing my renegade shepard before I learned to fully appreciate Jacob. he pushes back if you push him. I love it.

I like that Jacob tends to get snarky too if your Shep starts acting unreasonable, like if you push the merc out of the building during Thane's recruitment mission.

Jupp =) If I play a particularly renegade paragade then I always push that guy. Love how he speaks his mind. Ohhh.. and the bit during Mordin's LM. When looking at the body of a dead human Shepard says something like "this almost makes Cerberus look like a good idea" and Jacob is pretty much "Thanks!" with a nice dose of irony. And the pepp-talk with the krogan later on. Jupp, that has to be one of my fav missions to bring Jacob to. Took him along to Jack's LM for the first time last night. In my mind this and overlord will be the build-up for him leaving Cerberus and standing by my FemShep when she blows the base. Just wish he had one or two lines in Overlord.....

I think I speak for most of the Garrus fans when I say I would like to see something kind of like this in ME3

Garrus and Jacob       jupp, that's one of the usual teams for me in ME2. Hope to be able to repeat it in ME3 also every now and then, ohh please make Jacob squad member and not just a cameo.

Trying to decide if I should play the LotSB before or after the SM. The current FemShep romances Jacob and I always get irritated at the sadly boring info they have in the folder about Jacob. Really... that's the best the Shadow Broker could do with all the resources he had avaiable. Jacob has taken part in so many important events and was completely swept under the rug. All the hush-hush after the incident on the Citadel and the best the Shadow Broker could find on Jacob was his workout routine  <_<

Good thing that Liara is taking over. LotSB first I guess    :wizard:

Is there a difference in dialogue regarding the LI before/after the SM? I did LotSB right before SM started and my romance with Jacob had progressed enough for Liara to mention it. Does it change slightly if LotSB is done after SM?

I'm wrapping up my Garrus romance run and I have to say I got spoiled by being able to talk to Jacob so early and flirting with him throughout the game. I couldn't start anything with Garrus until his LM was done.

Hmmm... have no idea if there are changes in what Liara says if you do LotSB before or after the SM. I might try myself to see if any changes occur     =)

I do like being able to flirt with him for a long time and builiding it up. Taking it slow and steady, it's really sweet actually. Haven't played enough FemShep's yet to do the Garrus-romance but I'll get around to it. Want to see the continuation of all the romances in ME3. Much more fun to see it yourself than watching it on youtube    =)

It's conjecture. Hudson's tweet apparently considers Jacob to be a key character and that he would be returning provided if he survived, although for spoiler's sake he hasn't mentioned any particulars. Here is Hudson's tweet that confirms Jacob is returning to ME3.

Trolling? I'm simply trying to save your precious time. I know how valuable it is and I wouldn't want you guys to squander it on the undeniably, unlikely return of the world's most boring character.

I am so confident in his non return, that if HE DOES return as a permant or even a quasi-squadmate, I will quit posting on this here board. thats how confident I am.

You can quit posting. Hudson already confirmed it via Twitter.

Naw really, keep posting.

Hm, I must have missed the troll. Lucky me XD

@silentk When is your Jacob commission ready anyways? I actually like the challenge in Jacob's romance. During my first playthrough I romanced Garrus and it was honestly WAAAAAY too easy. Nice guy but really? There's no way of clicking the "wrong" option without it being glaringly obvious. With Jacob, however, the complexities in the dialogue is amazing. Especially when he allows Shep to vent. Shep can choose not to vent too and then he's like "Hey we're alike!" Then I really feel rewarded as both a roleplayer and a gamer ^^

Oh and I don't think there's much difference in the LotSB dialogue. I wish they would have revealed more about him though. Well, THERE'S ME3 woot!

@ Rekkampum Thank you for posting that tweet =) I had not seen it before. Nice to hear Jacob be called a key character. Happy happy joy joy!

Hia Trivia =) still haven't heard anything regarding the Jacob-pic. She had some things to take care of so I said that the time when it was finished wasn't important. The big thing was that it should be romantic. *ahem* yes I'm pretty much a romantic sap, and it was partly because there are so damn few cute pics out there with Jacob and FemShep. If you want to get it done, sometimes you just have to commission it yourself, lol =) next time I commission a pic of a FemShep it will be of her being kick-ass. But that will probably have to wait until spring and my b-day.

edit: spelling as always   =)

No prob. He's a character I think is underappreciated - I guess because of the colorful and ridiculous psychological profiles of the other characters, and it was nice to see a soldier who acted like one.

Yeah, he is a war vet after all, so it would make sense. It would also add context to his character to see his take on these events, given that he's remained such a stable person despite all his experiences.
