That's.....not much of an accomplishment....
True though.

That's just because he's not a mass murdering psychopath, space thief, a genetically engineered female human supremacist w/ prominent T&A, ultraviolent mercenary, spiritual assassin, space supercop, a bloodthirsty space lizard, etc.

They were probably foreshadowing... setting Jacob up for big things in ME3. Samara's opinion of him in particular sheds light on that... she says events will either forge him into a great man or utterly destroy him.
I wonder how that will be affected by the generally tepid response ME fans had to him. As someone who likes Jacob, I hope they don't stray from their initial plans, if that indeed was their plan.

I love Jacob's VA so very happy to know that he returns, wasn't even thinking that that would be a possibility *shudders*
I'm really hoping that they will make something great with him in ME3, tied in to the Cerberus-plot perhaps. Or the corsairs even if that feels much less likely. They have been very quiet about Jacob and Miranda so far. Or at least I don't know anything. Speaking of Jacob and Miranda. Think of making a PT with a FemShep who loses both of them in the SM. I'm really curious how that would affect the plot, not to have any crewmember that worked for cerberus left. Hoping that that would give some interesting results. Hoping that the loss of Jacob will affect the plot in some vital way. It's all in the name of science. How will you otherwise know what happens =)

I made a playthrough where only Morinth & Kasumi survive. PURE RENEGADE.
Then a Cerberus beeyatch who romances Jacob and only him and Miranda survive.

What is Child’s Play Charity and why are you supporting them?
Child’s Play Charity is a non-profit organization that raises money to buy Toys, Video Games, Books and other forms of entertainment to improve the lives of child patients for hospitals worldwide. These items are a great outlet for kids that are sick and spending a lot of time in the hospital, allowing them the ability to be a kid while undergoing whatever treatment they may need. There are a lot of studies going on now that find that if patients are happier and can keep their minds off of their condition, they heal quicker and ask for less pain medication. This make an organization like Child’s Play a really worthwhile charity to support. Please feel free to click on the Child’s Play link and check out the front page which has a visual map of all the different hospitals that are currently receiving toys.
Why are you playing the Mass Effect Series?
If you don’t know already, Mass Effect is a Sci-Fi Action Role-Playing Game developed by Bioware. We are playing these games because first and foremost, Mass Effect 1 & 2 are some of our favorite games of all time. The games rock and we want to share our love of this Bioware universe. In addition to that, when looking at the landscape of gaming marathons out there, we wanted to differentiate ourselves a little bit, playing a game series that people liked but had not been done for a marathon as of yet and gave the audience an opportunity to interact with us and feel more involved in the event.
OK then, what makes you guys different as a gaming marathon and how do viewers get involved?
When you think about it, at it’s core Mass Effect is a game about choices. On a simple level you can choose what class you are, what gender Commander Shepard will be, and decisions about your background. During the game you have moral questions of how you should act, how you solve a situation, and even who lives and dies. Here at Mass Effect Marathon, we give all the major choices that are in the games over to you, the viewers, through a series of voting polls that anyone who comes to the site can vote in. In addition, the more that you donate to the marathon will mean that we will keep certain characters alive in Mass Effect 2 during the games ending Suicide Mission.
How does the voting poll process for Mass Effect 1 & 2 work and when do you take those results into account?
In order to vote on major decisions in each game, you must visit the Mass Effect 1 Polls and Mass Effect 2 Polls pages. All the choices you make will help determine how we play the game. For example, if the highest vote getter for Mass Effect 1 class is Infiltrator we will play an Infiltrator during our playthrough of Mass Effect 1. In the example of character class, once we are at the class selection screen for that particular game, we will close that corresponding poll and take the highest result as our decision. For other choices, such as Saving the Council at the end of Mass Effect 1, when we get to that dialogue option in the game, we will close the poll and take the most voted on option as our decision. Therefore the fans have complete control on how we play the game, and we will have to adjust how we play on the fly. We will also import our Mass Effect 1 character into Mass Effect 2 so the decisions the viewers make will have a lasting impact!
How do characters from Mass Effect 2 factor into the marathon’s donation levels?
We are trying to raise $30,000 for Child’s Play Charity and as we raise money we will unlock certain donation levels. Many of these levels will have our marathon team performing a stunt or giving away prizes. Other levels though determine who lives and who dies at the end of Mass Effect 2. For example, our first character unlock is at $500 and that is the character Zaeed. If we do not reach $500 at the end of the marathon, then Zaeed and all other characters will die during the Mass Effect 2 Suicide Mission. If we unlock that $500 donation level though, we will insure that Zaeed lives no matter what. This process is cumulative for all 12 characters in the game. Therefore, in order to save our entire crew, we would have to raise $20,000 in donations where the character Tali currently resides. You literately have the character’s lives in your hands so the more you donate, the better ending we will have!
