Yes for Jacob in armor. Kaidan got way more... interesting with armor, if you get my meaning. The same should happen with Jacob, I think.

Yes, Jacob needs better outfits. For some reason his butt looked teeny tiny in the rubber skinsuits they put him in. Cerberus needs non-stripperish uniforms. Of course, I hope Jacob gets away from Cerberus. I'm hoping that having paragon-manced him will affect that.

you know I'm kinda annoyed at this attitude to be honest, sorry, about Kaidan, about Ashley...  they didn't get more "interesting" because of changes to their appearance, they were already interesting, people were just too... shallow  fascinated by "cool"  aliens to pay attention. sometimes the reaction reminds me of a scene innot another teenmovie where they made a parody on "she's all that" except in this movie, litteraly all they do is take offher glasses, let her hair loose and suddenly... she's hot.  even though she looks exactly thesame and there were no significant changes made to her appearance other then purely superficial.

I honestly think that part of the reason Jacob was given that outfit inME2 was to make him "hot"  it just didn't quite work out as intended.  of course, he had to compete with "cool" aliens >_>

now, I woudln't mind Jacob in armor - I'd love it.  but not becasue it would make him more "interesting"  but becasue he's a soldier, he's an intelligent, pragmatic soldier, and I would imagine he would prefer wearing the best equipment available.

I have my doubts about Jacob's role in ME3.  I keep telling myself that he's LI and Bioware promised that LI's will get equal treatement.  and then I remember that sometimes Bioware doesn't keep its promises.  Not to mention, sometimes bioware rewrites and reboots characters to give them more popularity or to make them fill a role they want them to, despte ill fit.

@ SilentK - I already have 15 Shepards :P I suppose I could try and play Jade twice...

@ Dhiro- this is why I'm always alternately amused and exasperated by claims of Jacob ninjamancing anyone. considering how easy it is to fall into friendzone with him even when you are trying to romance him... (you know, maybe replaying Jade won't be that big of a deal, I had to replay parts of the game with her several times, because I ended up friendzoned and had to reload O_O)

it makes it kinda interesting though,IMO it gives him that extra dimension - the fact that he doesn't just capitulate to Shepard at a first wink, you have to work for it with him.

I like this about Jacob too.  I played my M!Shep first and thought I really like him.  His character is strong, stable.. a classic good guy IMHO.  I couldn't wait to play my single F!Shep and romance him.  I confess I was shock by F!Shep behaviour.  I felt like she was on the verge of harassing him.  And there were a few moments when I cringed, for example, the better man comment, it should have been different for a F!Shep but I stuck with it and in the end I enjoyed his romance.  He has that nice dialogue when he asks F!Shep how she is and if she needs to talk.  I don't remember the exact conversation, it's been too long since I played but I was struck by how he is the only LI to ask.  It was a really nice conversation.  I was impressed by it and was glad I stuck with the romance.

Overall, I like his character a lot and hope he's back in ME3.

@ jeweledleah =) lol rant away np. Ehmm.... I would really like for Jacob to get armor simply because I think he would look really good in it. Yes... I'm just that shallow sometimes. Please don't think too badly of me

Besides, that outfit he had was simply too tight for me. Reminds me of my wetsuit for surfing pretty much. And I think it would fit better with the game somehow. Why can my biotic Shepard have cool armor when he has to have a wetsuit. Oh well.... I can keep dreaming of armor-dlc for Jacob.

So that's "interesting" as in eyebrow-waggle "interesting"

Edit: spelling as usual....

Hmmm.... I must say that I prefer Miranda in her dlc-armor, but I wouldn't say that it changes how I view her as a person. Have FemShep's who are very good friends with her and one or two FemShep's that really clash with her. All depends on their personality. But one of the first things that I do is always to change Miranda into the armor. Never use the armor for Jack since I don't like the fact that it covers up her eyes and I think she has so expressive eyes that I prefer to see them.

*sigh*    Jacob is the only LI that didn't get any dlc-armor which makes me a little sad. Would have loved to see some for Jacob, Samara and perhaps Legion. Things like that makes me a little worried for Jacob since he clearly wasn't treaded as the rest of the LI-cast. But I don't simply want him in the role of LI. I hope that he will have some really good friendship content as well.

Here's something just for lulz

LOL, love that. She is pushy with Jacob, but he seems to take it in stride. Like, oh, well, I was attracted to her anyway, and I respect her. Sure, why not.
And one more armor DLC would have been great. I would have chosen Samara, Jacob, and Zaeed. I think Zaeed has the greatest rear end. Samara needs an outfit that makes her look less like a DC superhero and more like a justicar. Ah, well.

It would have been nice to have a non Cerberus outfit for Jacob.  I never warmed up to Cerberus in the game and never wanted to wear the uniforms.

As for Zaeed rear end, boy I'm glad, I'm not the only one who thought that....

If only we could duplicate Zaeed for this scene (I didn't get a Jacob screen but he looks DAMN fine in this shot as well!)

And yes, an AA pack for Samara and Jacob... Them two are dressed way too skimpily for firefights.

I remember laughing my arse off when I realised I was on a CHLORINE-filled planet and some squaddies had most of their face out in the open... e.g Jack, Miranda, Jacob, Samara.

Stupid facemasks.

Anyway, since I heard Ashley has received the same armor as Kaidan, hopefully, the others would be dressed appropriately for battle in the future. Catsuits stay WITHIN the safety of the Normandy, or whatever vessel the character will be based.

In ME3 Jacob should have proper body amour like in ME1 but for weapon load out give him the assult rifle, and a pistol, for powers he keep IA and pull but also give him grenades, warp and some tech abilities that would make for a great load out imo

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Most of us in this thread have felt it was unfair that they took away Jacob's armor, assault rifle, tech powers and opportunities to snark (he still does but you've got to bring him around a lot) back when he was in Galaxy.

Just thought i'd pop in here and show my support for Jacob. I personally think he's a great character who unfortunately gets a lot of flak simply because he's a level headed and loyal soldier. Amongst all the of characters in ME2 i think it's great that Jacob maintains a sense of normality and calm, hopefully his past with the alliance and affiliation with cerberus could lead to some very interesting moments in ME3. I hope that after the reaper threat has been dealt with we'll finally be able to spill some drinks on the citadel with him :)

People don't want levelheaded characters. Considering that everyone is used to whole "ragtag bunch of misfits" trope and they expect to see a group of people who's presence in a military operation is questionable at best. It's a very nice and entertaining trope but it would never be implemented IRL.

I'm just here to show that I support Jacob. It's nice to have a character as loyal as Jacob is. And by loyal I mean loyal to the Alliance. The way that he questions activating Legion or trusting Thane - an assassin was refreshing. And it's nice to have a mentally stable guy on the crew.. Especially since I tend to be a sole survivor, so Shepard's certainly not stable either.

I feel some of TIM's recommendations for squadmates were questionable. Why hire a justicar, master thief or an assassin? Mercs are what Shepard needs. The best biotic mercs and tech mercs should have been enough.

I admit, I would have been interested in seeing Enyala on our team. But she's the only one really, aside from Zaeed, whom we already have (I warmed up to him from talking aboard ship).

I don't think that the "best biotic mercs" would be enough. TIM wanted to succeed so he wanted the best of the best, and he didn't care if they were mentally stable or not. If they died and the mission succeeded he would still get what he wanted. Let's useMordin as an example. I don't think any tech merc could rival what he did with the counter-measure. Jack and Samara are unrivaled biotics. So on so forth. :?

Unfortunately, I think this is true.  Of course it's just my opinion but so many player say he's boring.  And that's just not true. He's a deep character who has been trhough a lot without complaining and doesn't carry his baggage around.  Even with Miranda there, a former LI .   Again my opinion.  I think he would have a lot more fans if he had a better romance.  Most players I have talked to about ME2 were shocked by his romance (there are some bad lines) and femShep's behaviour.  I know I was at first.  But in the end the romance was worth it.  Aside from Tali (my single maleShep), I thought he was the only LI in ME2 who seemed to really care about Shepard.

Any male human is boring to a lot of male players, though. KOTOR Carth was boring to them. Kaidan is boring to them. Jacob, therefore, simply adhering to the same formula, must be boring. I know that there are women who don't like him, either, and I think it's in part because he isn't a "bad boy" like, say, NWN2 Bishop, or Assassin Thane.

Mordin is a bad example. Mordin wasn't hired for his tech battle expertise. He was hired for his knowledge of biology (swarm counter-measure). Tali would be a better example of a top tech. Jack and Samara weren't needed for the suicide mission. Any good biotic could get the team to the doors successfully. The only reason a squaddie gets taken by the swarms is because they advance on the collectors instead of falling back behind the doors like Shepard orders.

Basically what I'm saying is the mission could be completed arguably easier with a band of rough n' ready top rate tech/biotic mercs who are trained in warfare procedures already. Instead TIM recommends a band of unstable (Jack), potentially difficult because of ideals (Samara), or unsuited experience for the mission (Thane, Kasumi).

It certainly would spare Shepard the head case loyalty missions BS. Pay the mercs, they do the job and their dismissed. Of course TIM's band was chosen for spectacle not simplicity.

The game pretty much tells you that Thane's a "bad boy." Talk to Kelly. Although, the game isn't very consistent in character concepts, at times.
