I don't know where everyone else's script is from, but the outline I had from earlier this week was more about it being an ex-.

If you could point me in the direction of this supposed character assasination of Jacob, it would be appreciated. It would be a shame, he's a breath of fresh air amongst the ridiculous backstories and situations of most squadmates.

I think I've just found evidence in the spoilers that some of the "prophesies of doom" for the Jacob romance may not be as bad as we think. It's not definitive or anything, but it can provide a bit of hope in the next for months. If you'd like the evidence, I can PM it, since we're trying to keep this thread free of actual spoilers. And if you don't want the evidence, I'll just say this: When one reads the spoilers, there's no way to determine just what dialogue is for a romanced Jacob, and what dialogue is for a non-romanced Jacob. We can only make uneducated guesses. As such, don't count on the spoilers to give any coherent picture on how the Jacob romance will play out.

...something tells me that this thread will be discussing the spoilers from now until March.

This one would appreciate a pm with evidence. Hope would be nice right now.

unfortunately, the quotes I read specifically pointed at romanced Shepard. but I'd love to be proven wrong, you have no idea how much. actually - you probably do have an idea how much

There's also the prospect of lines for 'romanced but dumped' Jacob and Sheps. IE, did romance Jacob, but dumped him.

OK, looks like I've got a few takers. I'm typing up the stuff now(the spoilers being what they are, it's difficult to find stuff), and I'm researching the Jacob romance dialogue. The more I'm reading this stuff guys, the more it makes sense, and the less we have to worry about. Is there anywhere you guys want me to post the raw material(just the Jacob stuff), so you can read yourself? I can just start a new thread in the Jacob group, so we can keep it confined. Or I can start a new group alltogether, to keep it totally separate

OK, I'll post what I have in there. Might take me a while, but I'll post on here to inform people once it's done.

Don't expect too much, people, but I think we've(Well, I, definately) overeacted slightly. I'll post the(cleaned up) raw material, then I'll post the explanations I've come up with. Be prepared for walls of text and losts of Jacob lines in a messed-up, jumbled order.

Well, Kaidan has a massive fan following (myself included), so saying someone is "duller than Kaidan" is moot. If a character is well-liked by a group of people there are obviously redeeming qualities there. Not everyone is going to like a character. The free will to come up with our own opinions is a lovely thing.

I just felt the need to say, I have never been a Jacob fan. Even without FemShep's cringe-inducing lines, something about him just rubbed me the wrong way.

But that doesn't mean that he deserved this.

I can only imagine the rage I would feel if Bioware did this to one of my favorite characters. It's just wrong, and I sincerely hope that you guys get the sort of romance you should be getting.

At the moment, odds seem good that it didn't happen, and that the fatal dialogue was actually for a Shepard who broke up with Jacob.

Not a problem. It was very...therapeutic. I was as worried as anyone else when I first read the spoilers. But examining them, really examining them, helped me realize that Bioware wouldn't just throw the Jacob romance to the wolves. It was never even an option. I just read the spoilers wrong. Teaches me to read stuff that the general public wasn't meant to read.
