Looks like I missed some serious debate. I still have hope that this writing storyline for Jacob is going to be changed before release. Of course, that would mean calling the voice actor back in.

^Presuming, of course, that his lines have already been recorded. Technically we don't have any evidence of that... or do we? (Maybe I missed something.) I know that a great deal of voice acting is still being conducted -- the two Shepards and Martin Sheen met in LA for an extensive day at the studio just this past week as evidenced by reports (and an awesome photo) on twitter.

At any rate, I just sent BioWare's wonderful Jessica Merizan a little (OK, it was long) message with some constructive criticism to forward to the scribes concerning Jacob's handling in ME3. I wasn't going to bother -- especially since I haven't read the vast, vast, vast majority of the available spoilers for the game and intend to keep things as such -- but ultimately I was inspired.

I was going to do the same thing, but after reading the Jacob-related lines more thoroughly, I saw that my fears for Jacob's character were quite unfounded. The dialogue doesn't hint at the horrible things I had earlier imagined. I just didn't have the context for them, and the spoilers in general are difficult to read. I'm not worried about Jacob's arc anymore. I liked him in ME2, and I like what the spoilers indicate for him in ME3. From what I can see, the writing team did him justice.

yes!  he and thane alternate between being my absolute favorites, followed by kasumi and miranda -- squad wise, anyway.

I imagine grunt gets along with Jacob, since he has an immense respect for power. Also Samara for her appreciation for good natured people (since you can only get the almost romance with a heavily paragon shepard) and of course the woman with a massive crush on him, Kasumi.

for me it'd be Samara. He doesn't deal in BS, neither does she with teh justicar code. They both respect good deeds and I know he'd feel like he'd at elast make a difference in samara's life if he gave her her only non ardat yakshi daughter.

I could see the mutual friendship between the duo but not an actual relationship, mostly because Samara seems to not want to be in any relationship at all.

Ha ha =) darc, that was really funny, thanks for posting! ( but I prefer Shepard+Joker but that's a different thread). Never the less, humor is always a good thing.

What is your fav mission to take Jacob to? Hmmm... guessing it is Mordin's LM for me, that one is pretty great. First you get a good line when you find the dead human in the hospital. Shepard says something to the effect of "This makes Cerberus look like a good idea" and Jacob just goes "Thanks!". Can't help laughing every time I hear that one. And the krogan pepptalk is pretty fun also. His LM is really good, but it's so personal, I feel so sad on his behalf that I feel happier to bring him along for Mordin's q. Wish I could have brought him to Kasumi's LM, would have been fun to deal with that one in a Mr&Mrs Smith way. Tag team it with FemShep+Jacob, Kasumi could do her stealth bit. Wonder how Jacob would handle the party, probably lowprofile. Ohh well, you can always dream.
